These videos kind of remind me of fishing with my dad when I was little. I was always so excited when I caught something, even if it was tiny, and he was always (and still is) so supportive. He got me a new fishing rod for my 16th birthday and took me fishing all day, it's one of my favorite ways to spend time with him :-D

I'd like to pop in and say that even if you're inland, there's plenty of opportunities to forage for wild edibles! Food grows abundantly around us in most places. Feel free to drop any questions you have about forest foraging, and I can share some helpful channels I watch for that!

I would happily pay to have a tour, just walking along as you pointed out the shellfish. I wouldn't even need to eat the meal, the joy of being in fresh salt air, listening to the education of what can be found foraging would be experience enough. Love these videos!

- I have spoken with some local groups and schools about doing just that but the red tape, health and safety and insurances etc just makes everything impossible. For now we will just have to settle for the videos. :D

I love how you promote sustainability in your foraging. You have a true respect for our wonderful oceans and their inhabitants, and it does my heart good to see you teaching sweet little James these valuable lessons.

How I really really love how you raise your son, telling him ’its okay’ when he failed to get the raizor clam, telling him ’thank you' for giving you a piece of bread. And telling him 'good job' when he did great. I am now soon to be a mother of a son. I want to apply that kind of treatment to him sooner. Hope so not being short tempered me. Greetings. I am a new subscriber, finding your vids only yesterday. I envy your "hunts" and truly appreciate you taking the time to identify the "treasures" you find whether you keep them or not. I live in Florida and sadly do not have coastlines like this. If there were, I would visit them constantly, not to gather, but just to see what the tide brought in Your little man is precious. You're a wonderful Father and I admire you for teaching him to respect the sea life and the importance of only taking the mature specimens and no more than what you can eat. I was probably the last generation who’s baby and childhood pictures are actual photos and video cameras were not really available and it is a shame. Not sure why, but whenever you show us a dog fish egg that you found I light up. They just look so funny, I also really like the “mermaid purse” egg!

- I always enjoy seeing them, they are so fascinating. Interesting also that some sharks lay eggs and others give birth to live young. I love nature :D

I've watched two of your vids now, and you remind me of my Granddad when you're teaching your kiddo. The way he would teach us when we went fishing with him was very much the same, and it makes me really happy to see. ☺️ Not only are you teaching him, you're teaching us, too, and now I'm really sad I don't live on the beach, because that all looks SO DELICIOUS!

hellsingmongrel - A lot of people wont agree with you but I feel that it is the best way for him to learn. Seeing and experiencing and by giving him the freedom to explore - with just enough guidance and supervision to keep him safe. I took my missus out last night for her birthday & we had scallops & yes, they're not bloody cheap!! - I try to give him enough freedom to explore and learn for himself but still a close enough eye that he feels supported and safe. :)

This is a very interesting video for someone who lives out in the middle bit of Texas where the most water I get is the rain once in a while, but I swear I could smell garlic when you went in to cut some! Loved this video some more good foraging to y’all!

I came randomly at your video's and they're AMAZING!! Here in Belgium, our North sea hasn't that much (alive) seafood. If we dig a bit, we could find some cuckles and mussels. We mostly find empty shells. The information that you're telling is also very nice! I hope you will keep making these videos because it is wonderfull! Thx and greetings from Belgium!
