John, though you named the channel The Fish Locker, lately through my binge watching of your channel, I'm thinking you missed an opportunity but probably to your credit it is because of your humility, and humanity towards the ecology but to me, I'm more inclined to call you "The Fish Scholar". I've been looking at getting a small boat for my retirement, so I've watched a ton of videos on it, I got to say that this one(even though it's 4 years old when I found it) is the best ! most informative video I've seen, so thanks mate !! so clear and well explained, so thank you .. if I had anything to add (as requested by you) is the cost of actually being able to sail it, I think its rya level 2 but Im not sure yet, and that costs money and time (I'll have the time :) I'd like to know more about navigation, and stuff like can you just drop anchor in the sea and stay there. Great video

I've seen people fishing 2metres off the beach in the channels for Snook, I'd be curious to see you do that! In Florida live bait is the secret to everything. What you will see in Florida is people hooking into a fish and then winding as fast as possible, I guess its fear of sharks, but they lose a lot of fish for no reason. The "alien" fish is quite delicious imo
That is something we learned on this trip - and will definitely be put into practice in future.

I remember being on a wrecking trip about 40years ago out of caernavon.about 20 miles out we came across a bank of jelly fish about 50yards wide and as far as you can see in both directions .sometimes nature shows unbelievable sights

I really miss the ocean. Mygrand mother use to till me story's about when she went to sea. With my grandfather. When I visited her in her home. I met a lot of people in the sweetish community. I now .live in Vancouver Washington. Pacific northwest U S A. With my wife.
I love to be by the ocean and coastline.
You need to use ballyhoo for bait. Best bait for the Florida coast all the way around the Gulf of Mexico and down around the Yucatan peninsula.
We did also use ballyhoo but found squid and prawn was best for the smaller species.
I remember being off the coast of Devon 35 years ago i would of been 12 ish, about 4 miles off shore in a boat same size as this one and three huge shadows past underneath our boat they looked as big as a submarine possibly whale of some sort I'll never forget how terrified i was. Never been back out.😅
We occasionally have whales around the boat.
