Winter Shore Fishing UK - A day and a night Shore fishing in Cornwall | The Fish Locker
This shore fishing session shows exactly what it can be like fishing in Cornwall in winter. Every type of weather and overcoming the conditions. I explain the rods, rigs and baits showing baiting up and also explain things about the species I catch. Ending in some lovely fish for our family.

I relate to that, nothing egotistical about this channel, a thinking fishermans channel. You learn so much from a man who cares about his environment
I know the smaller Whiting can be a nuisance no more than dogfish though but those were a lovely eating size. To catch those in that session is a result and always nice to get out when the weathers nice.

I know what you mean about cutting down the tackle you carry. I do a bit of pike fishing with my 10yr old son and by the time im loaded up with all our rods , tackle, bait, lunch, shelter and some fire lighting fuel im like a pack horse😂 knackered my back a couple of times in the past. Cant cut down much in what we lug now and its still a hefty load👍

Greetings from south west coast of Ireland! They are massive whiting! I'd be over the moon with that size! I remember as a teen, night fishing round Dec-Jan bitterly cold nights at a local pier. Huge showls of whiting coming in and you'd take the bite, there would often be two on one hook and some got fouled on the lead grippers, even on the lead clips! The water was alive with them! They were all around 1/4 to 1/2 pound though! Could hold them up to the light and see internal organs!!

Super whiting, not a bad session after all ! Lol😂, thanks for sharing with us 👍👍

I have fished Wexford and also county Clare. Wonderful coastlines.
Whiting are indeed great eating, and I don't know how many times they've saved me blanking on winter beaches. I don't understand why so many anglers see them as nuisance fish, I think they're great. In my local area they tend to be on the small side but up in the North-west of Scotland I've had some real big 'uns from the beaches. Thanks John

Is there not a chance that you will damage the spine of the huss by lifting it by its tail? The 2 whiting realy shocked me. Been fishing over 50 years and never ever have seen whiting this size. You stayed calm, i would have gone bonkers with a double like that👍👍👍 Greetz from Stipo from Holland 33:54

Good comment, and for a prolonged period or if it was hanging slack, yes. But as you can see it’s muscles were still writhin it around. So for a short period, with a lighter fish like this it causes no harm. 👍🏻
When it’s an off day it’s off. I personally used to fish from 2 hours before low then all the way up depending on weather and if I was catching but I’d stick it out for the whole 9 to 10 hours and blank most of the time. Great video as always. Thanks John for taking me out of London for a bit!
