Honestly.... I started endmyopia last year... Around february/march 2022 I did a big mistake by not changing the prescription of my differentials regularly.... I did only twice but still I am atleast half a diopter down despite having a huge academic pressure on my head.... Thanks to u and jake.... I will not repeat it this year for sure... And yes 2023 IS THE YEAR!!!

Thanks for your time to make this vid. Nice to see that it works, the long time pays off in the end, not? I had my first clear flash last summer, when I did the "Mark Warren exercise". I was walking over a dike and suddenly after the part which you must stand for 10 seconds and then open your eyes...BAM!!! I saw 90-95% clearly, without glasses, seeing a farm and cows across the water a few miles away (!) I tried to make the moment last as long as possible, but after 10 seconds or so it faded. And my prescription was between -2.5 and -3., with cataract in one eye. So obviously in that eye I did not see the 90%, but I could be without glasses easily if I saw what I saw then. Then there are some more techniques I use and a few times I saw almost clear now few moments after waking up. Oh boy, not many longer now and then without glasses, after 40 years!

hi NottNott, amazing video. I know you said you recommend doing your own research and therefore a confirmed optometrist prescription wouldn't change anything, but i really think it would be substantial for the community if you were to test your eyesight. Even if it doesn't match your current glasses power it would be a great objective indicator for the viewers of your immense progress. And we trust you won't fake it so that's not a concern but for those of us earlier in our journey, someone like you further ahead is amazing motivation even if we do understand and believe in technical side of things.

I'm happy with my suuuuper fast progress. I went down from -1.5 to -1.1 in 3 weeks bro. CrAzY. I'm on delegation now, working for 10hrs/day. Loading up wheel on cleaning machine and waiting till its clean. When it's cleaning I look throughout massive windows that are near to me. So I can say I was looking outside for about 5 hours daily, doing active focus on car plates and looking long-distance to release spasm. Also it's not blur adaptation thing. When I was at home on weekend I was looking outside at night for 10 minutes, just amazed by how much I can see now.

I've been doing endmyopia for almost 3 years now. Starting at -2.00 and about a 20/20 now. My takeaway is you can get away with a lot of closeup while still improving but get a lot of outdoors. Windows do work too. Second takeaway is 20/20 is still not great vision and perfect clarity which is what I'm aiming for so I'm not done.

my mom is a microbiologist who retired at age 55. by age 61 she no longer needed glasses for distance vision. After retiring she spent tonnes of time outdoors and doesn't know the "Bates Method" or what "Active Focus" is. I think "go outside" does a lot. A lot of this other stuff is just placebo effect. The way people online talk about this Steiner character... there is definite cult-like behaviour around his group. Oxenfeld and Warren offer tonnes of free resources. Going outside offers movement all around you. That is the problem with monitor work in a room. Zero movement in your peripheral.

I get some really great clear flashes sometimes, so exciting! And every stage is a new experience :D Just gonna put it out there I am reasonably sure you would fair quite well with a less sadistic approach to patching in your future equalizing steps. Sooner or later your cortex is going to rebel if you continue the aggressive patching approach. Also no rush on ditching the diffs, especially with that diopter gap. I know you gonna do what you gonna do but I gotta try....

@@NottNott I think you would be surprised how a little patching goes long way when you mix it by some times close and sometimes far but only ever when engaged with your vision. • @nabranestwistypuzzler7019

    @nabranestwistypuzzler7019

    Жыл бұрын

@@Reannon5 Yeah true and I probably shouldn’t do patching at all. I used to have a .75 diopter gap, but now I have a .25 or not even diopter gap. I went from -2.00L -1.25R/a quarter worse or maybe even worse than that in 2022 back to -2.00L -1.25R in the end of 2022, and now my left is back down to 1.5 or more like 1.25 and the right is 1.25 or not even. And sometimes I’m -1ish in midday sun. I’m pretty sure patching would be useless for me and Idk if it would make my left better than the right, so then the right would be behind. Idk if it would be useful if I hypothetically plateau my gap reduction, but yeah obviously I won’t. I mean like the gap keeps on closing after 4 months, and it will probably be even smaller or non existent (it’s already probably an eight dioptre or not even) by May-June and I might just actually be -1 by then. So I should be even more cleared for driving. I’m in college rn and go home in Mid May and I don’t even have a car or eye doctor rn (it’s all at home), so Ig I’ll just go straight up natural eyes for another 1.5-2 months. Ig then I’ll go back to the optometrist & get -1 norms at most or not even and obviously no cyl, and I should go to the DMV and get cleared for driving, plus obviously do a snellen chart on my own first to make sure that I can actually get cleared and don’t just go for no reason and waste time. Idk if -1 is too strong or not for norms. Also, I wear sports goggles instead of glasses, the recspecs site costs $175 for them, another $75 for prescription (I just wrote a table in pencil in my notebook, so hopefully it works because they don’t let you type in the dioptres yourself), and the sunglasses feature costs another $75, and it’s too bright without sunglasses. However, I would need the grey ones for full sunglasses especially when driving, but they’re always at least a little tinted, so I would need the Amber ones, so that’s 2 pairs, so 650, times 4 for each .25 increment is $2.6K USD just to never wear them, but my daylight vision is better anyways, and I’ve just been wearing cheap $25 CVS sunglasses even for driving, and those things are pretty weak, break easily, and Ig also technically less ergonomic, and at least I can just glue the frames (they already broke wtf), and yeah I even wore the CVS no correction ones for driving and then nothing when driving in twilight or the rare occasion I drove in solar night especially now in the spring. And yeah I mean like that’s all that & what about the pupil distance and all the other stuff to make sure they’re good lenses and don’t make it worse? Sun/26/03/2023 at 28:49 EDT2 WTF WHY AM I UP IN THE ALMOST MORNING!????!!!!???

I'm still skeptical of this and find it hard to believe. However, scientifically we've seen that fasting actually regenerates body cells, in turn making one's biological clock younger. We now know that sugar is a drug that causes addiction and is responsible for stimulating body growth of all the organs - in turn causing massive obesity epidemic. My assumption, is that the eyes would also continue to grow in axial length, because there is no outside stimulus from the sun to stop thyroid hormone. I remember when I was 14, that is the first time I was prescribed with -0.5 glasses on both eyes and they've found I've had astigmatism on my right eye. This was really weird to me because as a kid I've never needed glasses before that time, and I've always aced Snellen chart. I was really upset and even cried about this, how could it be that I will need glasses now? Skip forward like 4 years and suddenly I got prescribed -3.5 glasses. Do note, that I was an active kid outside, maybe less so than I used to as I've been playing more playstation and pc games, but still I'd usually play football outside and hang around. During those 4 years I was also living in Norway where there is less sun overall than my homeland. And get this, the -3.5 glasses were too strong for me. They were giving me head aches, eye strain and the feeling of nausea. I really wanted to take driver's license at that time and I couldn't with those glasses, I couldn't wear them for more than 30 minutes a day. This is the turning point for me where I legitimately considered that optometrist is just over prescribing me wrong glasses. Now forward it to my university years in 2014: I started wearing -3.5 glasses without any head aches, because I was using them more and more. As if I was adapting to overcome all the side effects I was having to be accustomed to wearing them. In 2016 my eye sight keeps getting worse, I can't see the projector during lectures in the auditorium. I checked back then with a really cool optometrist, and he prescribed me -4.5 and because I was starting to hate glasses, he also recommended me contact lenses which I found very convenient to use. Finally I could see again the projector during the lectures. Do mind you, there would be like only about 30-40 sunny days during entire year of my stay in Bergen, Norway as it would constantly rain and be cloudy. So I've spent most of my time inside my apartment infront of PC screen, and the light during lectures would be so dim that I felt my eyesight was worsening again. I've noticed later down the years that bunch of people I knew during university who have never wore glasses and were in their 20s, started to wear glasses for myopia. Which I again found really weird and concerning that the light conditions were really bad, despite complaining to the university board about them. (Light bulbs were the electricity sparing ones, cheapest crap they could buy) Now we skip wo 2021 where after finishing my academic background in a completely different university where the light conditions were as equally bad and I've spent a lot of time indoors just playing on my PC (Fortnite, WoW Classic). I went again to my optometrist and I got prescribed -6.5 in my left and -6.75 in my right. However, I kept using -6 contact lenses and it felt fine. But, I did use them while spending a lot of time infront of my PC. I even slept with contacts like 3 times, which after waking has made my vision cloudy like a white fog/mist for the rest of the day. I assume, my eyes were not getting enough oxygen because of those accidents of forgetting to take them out. Now it's 2024, and I feel like it worsened because I feel like I need stronger contacts to see road signs and read car number plates. However, I've noticed a really weird thing which made me question myself. If the eye continued to grows in axial length, despite optometrist saying all these years to me that they will stabilize in my early 20s. I'm 29 now and they continued getting worse for over a decade really rapidly. How come sometimes when I wake up and stare at the sunlight (not directly into the sun), and spend time without my contacts, that sometimes when I blink I'm able to see my neighbors house number over 10 meters infront of me for some brief seconds. I've read about the tears forming a natural contact lens like a magnifying glass, but I still find it weird whenever I'm using my contacts, and yes the eye tears hardly ever get beneath the contact lens, that by blinking a couple times I'm able to focus on an object and see it sharp and clear. Therefore, I'm being quite honest here, @NottNott. Are you just full of bullsh1t or does it really work with active focus? Maybe post a separate video with all the things that you do during a year to help your eyesight? Ty

It's easy for me to say not to dwell on regret since I didn't get lens-induced myopia myself (my current prescriptions are damn near the same as my first ever pair, decades later) but I don't feel like getting glasses really did me a disservice given that the other option at the time would've been to not see the whiteboard etc. Nobody knew about active focus and whatnot at the time, people had hunches and I *was* told not to wear glasses for up close stuff but it wasn't strongly enough substantiated that I'd blame anybody for not pushing it harder. I'm sure I'd feel bitter if I ended up with lens-induced myopia but from my perspective opticians just wanted to sell me glasses I'd like and they generally succeeded.

@@pedrolmlkzk fair enough, I was probably too used to 20/10 vision so no correction gave me a "shock" how blurry and distorted everything looked that I struggled. In late 2019 I was unable to read subtitles on a 42" TV at 3 meters away while today I can barely read even with +3.00 glasses on the same TV (I own a few reading glasses for experimental purposes). It's weird, I should be seeing worse with those on than what I did without(in 2019); I guess the magnitude of diopters changes when your own refractive state changes.

Great video! Thanks for giving us hope. For those like me who don't do everything 'by the Jake': reducing too fast/ too much, dropping it all completely, forgetting to log and doing a ton of screen time. I think my eyes are around -2/-2.5, I have my -1.5 'just in case' pair and most of the time just use my eyes. Though sometimes I notice my eyesight gets a bit better after wearing glasses for a bit, but I don't want to overdo it by just wearing them for more. What do you think?

your vid wasn't bad at all! I "survived" by watching it all and not at x2 speed! 🤣 anyway i have a question for you bc I come from your starting point were my prescribed -5 sucked from the very beginning and I throw them away, and rn i'm using -4.50 (contact lenses, yes I know they're bad but I truly hate glasses w all my heart) , i recently bought some -4.25 but when it's about driving, if i have to travel for some long distance I feel afraid and so I still use -4.75 , so I think that because of this I am still stuck and I lack on any improvements. Do you have some suggestion for this? PS even tho I am a high gen failure I have clear flash lights too PPS congrats on your improv, keep going. Very inspiring as always!

  • @NottNott

I would always recommend higher corrections than lower whenever driving is involved, although if you truly feel like those glasses are too strong you could drop the correction. Obviously staying safe is the top priority there though. I usually go 0.25 above normalised for driving. (so just the last pair of normalised that i used) Contact lenses and glasses have different corrections for the same eyes as you might know, make sure that's not tripping you up. Maybe reduce driving glasses, get some good distance vision with your normalised each day, make sure you've found active focus and just take forever with it. Jeez that's a lot isn't it 😶

@@watchthis300 They're called stereograms or autostereograms. There are two main types, cross-eyed and parallel (you cross your eyes in front of or behind the image). They used to be popular under the Magic Eye name, kid me thought they were the coolest thing ever! You can find tons everywhere, including here on youtube, websites, bookstores, libraries etc. You could start by checking out the autostereogram article on wikipedia. I don't know if it'll help you or mess you up or neither but one cool thing about them is that you have to train your eyes to do convergence and focusing as independent actions. They do benefit from high DPIs so if you don't have a high DPI screen getting them as books might be a good idea.

I got my first pair of glasses many years ago when I was almost 18 and they were -2.25 and -2.75. I had first noticed my vision being slightly blurry two years prior to that but held off on getting glasses for as long as I could. My current glasses are -5.75 and -5.5, which aren’t giving me 20/20 anymore, so maybe I can use them as my normalized glasses. Since I had such a strong prescription for my first pair of glasses, does that mean I had -2.25 and -2.75 diopters of ciliary spasm? I thought ciliary spasm resulted in a fairly small amount of (pseudo) myopia, but since I hadn’t worn glasses yet I’m guessing that’s what it was. So, if I get rid of my ciliary spasm does that mean I could potentially knock 2.25-2.75 diopters off my current prescription before any reduction in axial length occurs?

@G E T R E K T Hi Get, On a scientific level, there is no doubt, but that any minus lens, wipes out our naked eye vision - permanently. Virtually all sincere Medical people, should warn us about the proven adverse effect a minus lens has all all normal eyes. Only Rupa Wong does the right thing for her children. Medicine is incredibly saturated with their own anti-scientific bull shit. But equally, everyone hates the idea of self prevention, by using a Snellen, to never allow your naked eye to get down to 20/50.

I had already been wearing glasses for years and I did get treated for it. I nonetheless tried and continue to do Endmyopa (to the extent that I can), and I don't think it's been a problem, even though the procedure to treat the keratoconus involved hardening my cornea so the eye didn't take on a rugby ball's shape. 15:00 Hi Knott, You say -1.5 Diopters. In my opinion, you make a terrible mistake, to rely on an OD measurement. ( ODs ALWAYS over-prescribe a minus lens, by a quite lot. ) Put up a bright Snellen. Mark in big letters, 60 line, 40 line and 20 line. See how close you are to reading 60 line at 20 feet. Remember, the DMV requirement is for 20/60, one eye, 20/40 other eye. Aim for a REASONABLE OBJECTIVE SUCCESS, YOU MEASURE YOURSELF. I personally use a simple minus one diopter to check for any medical problem I might have. I will always check with an Ophthalmologist if I think I have a true medical problem. I want medical people to WORK WITH ME, NOT AGAINST ME, IN MY LIFE TIME GOAL.

@@NottNott With all due respect. You WIN by passing the DMV requirements. You also win by using your own test lenses. This can be as easy as obtaining three lenses from Zennioptical, for $25. A -0.5, a -1, a -1.5, a -2 D. Then using your Snellen, at 20/60, find the lowest power minus that just cleares the 20/20 line. A big step to making accurate refractive measurements yourself. You have the intelligence for it!
