Oh you are going to enjoy this one! I believe they call him Mr Energy, or something like that in the Philippines. He is amazing! Now that you are 'on the bus', more treasures await you! Morissette Amon, Daryl Ong' Bugoy Drilon & Marcelito Pomoy just to name a few! Don't need a bus pass, just buckle up & enjoy the ride!

I had the pleasure of watching him live in concert in the early 90's. His live shows brought that Michael Jackson flair with singing and dancing but I'd say with more of a Broadway lean.

Outside of Voice Play, this is THE COOLEST video you've ever done! I LOVE this guy, getting strong PostModern Jukebox vibes! What we have here is a musical genius in the body of a comedian stuffed full of so much talent and personality it literally bubbles out of him. Freaking awesome, shout out to wherethehellisthelibrary for requesting! Thanks for introducing me to this artist, insta-fan!

I've seen several incredibly talented performers singing on that same radio station before, however, this is my first time experiencing that vibrant injection of positive energy delivered by Gary Valenciano! I'll need to watch this entire video again to try to process the cool information discussed/shown here; thank you for bringing this amazing artist to my attention!

Oh my goodness! You have no idea how you took me back. First of all, I played my Al Jarreau “Breaking Away” 1981 famous album until the needle almost went through the vinyl. He had such a smooth velvety voice (sometimes very nasal) and could seduce you with his sultry ballads (Teach me tonight) and then energize you with his funky, jazzy, scatty performances (Roof garden, Morning). He later reached an even more popular level by singing the famous “Moonlighing” tv show theme. It is clear Al Jarreau was a huge influence to Gary Valenciano, who is clearly honouring him by mastering this cover. Second, the Concerto de Aranjuez... My grand parents, living on the second floor appartement from my family, use to play classical music all the time. I can still see my grand mother listening reverently and emotionally with her eyes closed to the big string climax of this concerto. She was so touched by it. Good memories. This said, now I need a nap. My little brain was overwhelmed. Thanks for this trip down memory lane and your great R/A as usual. 🤗

Mr. Energy indeed! Gary was a pop idol in his younger years, became so popular in the early 80s. He is an excellent dancer and i believe that was why he was called Mr. Energy. Here's a trivia: Gary had juvenile diabetes, used to give himself insulin shots and always had Cokes ready while doing concerts to keep his sugar level up. This is the first time I've seen this (not much fan of the Wish Bus), thanks to the Patreon who requested 😊. This Spain cover is quite complex, doing an Al Jarreau is not easy

Gary Valenciano does not do anything new, but sounding just like a so perfect cover of Al Jarreau. A great singer that we lost in 2017. Listen to his crazy version on Dave Brubeck’s Blue Rondo à La Turk, where he added a lyric and did a so crazy singing. But also, listen to his album Brakin’ Away. A so nice and beautiful album.
