Absolutely LOVE your appreciation and comments for this artist. He is known as Mr. Energy. His neck veins are more prominent in part at the time I think also due to his narrower vein drainage from multiple major surgeries requiring central venous access.

Thank you Anna. Gary is not just a singer but a great musician. He is also a lyricist, arranger and play so many musical instruments. He wrote songs for other singers like regine velasquez the Philippine queen of music, the Asias song bird. Please try to react to some of regine's performance like what kind of a fool am i, a piece of sky and many more. Both Gary and Regine have been singing for almost 4 decades up to now.

Anna, thank you so much for analysing Gary V's version of Spain. Al Jerreau had passed away a few months prior to this recording, which Gary did as a tribute to Al. In this recording Gary shows his musicality and many years of dedication to his artistry. I loved watching you sing along to this masterpiece by Chick Corea. The only other reactor to do this is Julia Nilon from Australia. You should see Gary V on stage, he is an amazing dancer, and is called "Mr Pure Energy" in the Philipines. Spain was originally written by jazz pianist Chick Corea in the early 1970s. it was only some years later when Al Jarreau adapted it to his vocal style. What Gary is doing here, is paying homage to Al Jarreau.

Anna, this is one of my fav songs to listen to ! Gary is an unbelievably talented artist and so solid and professional in his approach to music composition ! The Wish Bus is not an easy venue for sure to sing in and it's live too ! Gary is sitting down and asking for sound adjustments a couple of times from the technician while not missing a beat !!!! Most of all I love that he's in his element and having so much fun ! Anna, I've heard on stage he's a beast with so much strength, power and stamina he's known as" Mister Energy" I can imagine theis Al Jarreau cover is one of the most difficult jazz songs to sing and Gary kicks it out of the park ! 😂 I have been singing this many times live, last time with a full orchestra. Yes, I am entitled to my opinion which is that I am a total fan of Gary. Also, just a reminder that this channel is a place for love and not speaking down on anyone.

Reuploading means twice the fun of writing a comment. This is such a fun performance, Gary is so relaxed and happy. Almost like he is just singing in the shower. I love how he is so free in his voice. Using vocals to take any instrumental line and free form singing to that. Kiitos. /nm8/Johan

Hey Anna, thanks for this amazing reaction! Al Jarreau is one of my favorite singers and this along with “Take Five” is one of my favorites cuts of his. I think Gary really made both Al & Chick Corea proud with this performance. He did enough of Al’s version to salute him while adding in his own touches (it’s jazz after all). You were really into this one and I do have to say that I’m impressed that you knew the song well enough to recognize that he started off by quoting a decent chunk of Al’s solo before improvising on his own. I love to see ppl doing things that they love and being totally immersed in their joy. Nice catch there when Gary asked for more volume in his headphones, later he gives a thumbs up to let the engineer know the level is right. I can’t imagine having the presence of mind to be able to perform a song as difficult as this and still be able to negotiate minor technical difficulties at the same time. Kudos to Gary and to you!
