Classic Swan 65, 1973, hull no1.. Ep41

There are occasions that remind me of how deep my passion for sailing really is, and this without doubt was one of them!
Although I’ve seen older Swans on several occasions at anchor etc, this was my first experience sailing on one, and it didn’t disappoint😍
I’ve since watched the documentary ‘The Weekend Sailor’ the Story of the first Whitbread round the world race In 1973, which was won by an unlikely Mexican crew on a 1973 Swan 65, hull no 3, which made sailing on Peak, hull no 1, feel even more special⛵️😍
In part 1, I watch Peak go back In the water after substantial work being carried out over several months, including new teak decks!
She was stunning!
We then got the invite from Teresa and Pieter to help day sail her, and help with tuning the rig, after having her mast put back up.
Pieter has owned Peak for 20 years and raced her extensively, so he had her humming along at 9+ knots in no time, effortlessly!
What a wonderful and fun experience, I felt very grateful and privileged to have sailed on a piece of living sailing history!
Thank you Pieter and Tera for a fantastic day on the water🙏⛵️🇹🇹😁

Highly recommend turning the sound OFF when watching this to avoid the awful music and the very tedious and repetitive narration.

Very typical, tedious and repetitive advice from the troll world! Some of us are doing and learning and hopefully growing, instead of just armchair complaining and criticising….why? What purpose does it serve?
