I have the same dilemma. Swan 65 or Baltic 67. Love the layout below deck on Baltic 67 Freedom and I fall in love with the interior design by Design Unlimited

I mentioned this in another video last week. I love Swan yachts for their quality, but... What about the protection in the relax area of the deck? Zero spray, sun, wind protection, and yes, I know the freeboard is higher than most. Love to see a version of this with a hard-top, or at least something substantial.

At this end of the market, I guess Nautor assumes you can just afford to tootle off to the sunny Med/Caribbean instead of having to deal with bad weather. Or just have your hired crew sail it in the rain while you enjoy some hors d'oeuvres in the salon, am I right? Oh well. I prefer a nicely protected helm and deck too!

@@strangemobius Hi Chris, I agree. I know they are very much different yachts, but the Hallberg Rassy 64 with hard-top or the Amel 64 offer everything one could hope for. Ok, the Swan is probably much faster 😜

Swan wouldn't usually put a yacht like this into a show like this with the all weather dodgers etc on. Ruins the elegance factor for this beautiful Frers Swan. I am sure however the owners who intend to use this yacht for cruising will appropriately equip her. Custom made dodgers and hard top are available in most sailing/yachting hotspots

Nice hull, nice interior, great quality, terrible cockpit. Centre mounted table I assume so no clear passage through. Constant "excuse me while i get past" in my ear. What a shame.

Meanwhile in m 28 foot twister.....

18’ 5” (5.62 m) with the keel extended? Wow! But still 11’ 6” (3.5 m) draught with the keel up? Not good as a cruiser because it’ll keep you away from allot of shallow waters. @3.5 m draught you’ll have trouble even in allot of marinas, try getting inside some of the beautiful atolls in the south Pacific. It’s a very expensive luxurious toy for the folks with more money than sense who like to spend a weekend racing it in the deep Med waters around Sardinia. I’ll take the new Beneteau First 53 any day over this grossly overpriced Swan and run circler around it 😂😂😂

Yep draft is a really issue with many yachts like these. I love to sail over the reefs into some nice little bays hidden in small islands, can not do that with most monohulls, thus the beauty of multihulls. Beautiful beautiful boat, piece of art. I will just buy a nice painting for far less and sail my low more sense-able boat.

It is really not suitable for cruising around the world. That is obvious. But I would not mind trying

"potential owners"... Yeah, about 0.5% of the richest people on the planet that could afford this!
