Emperor and above Aztecs are one of immediate threats as a neighbor(Like Zulus or Mongolia) since it's AI is aggressive by default and it's a strong early military power. I have to rush Composites or risk getting overran by hordes of Eagle Warriors.

Best part is that flooding lowlands created a natural waterway through the continent. This left the canal worse that destroyed, it left it useless. In order to make their project profitable again, investors started a great new project to create a mighty damn to block this new river and give their canal a economic use once more.

@@VeylonTrue, but the unit wouldn't be able to move in a straight line. They'd always be zigzagging towards their destination which, to me, is visually unsatisfying. And you'd still have to have sections of the map where the triangles break away from their regular pattern (where the pentagons would be in a hexagonal tessellation). I suppose another option would be to remove the grid altogether and have it so that units just travel a set distance in any direction per turn (adjusted for terrain, unit speed, etc...).

I love it how the moment he learns the canals in danger he starts taking the weather seriously,😆

Well, technically America has quite some issues with teh Tornado side of it. They are like the only 1st world country I even *know* to have Tornados as a thing to worry about. I mean it is weather and weather happens in Europe too. So it should happen here too. But it seems like we *only* ever hear of them from Amerika. ​@@christopherg2347 tornados need certain weather conditions to happen and those are either quite unique to the USA or the other areas are simply not inhabitated by a lot of humans. The far bigger issue will be hurricanes, due to the direct impact higher temperatures have. It means more energy in the athmosphere, it means more evaporation of ocean water and both mean more and bigger hurricanes are to be expected. Not to mention rising sea-levels also affect all of the coasts of the USA. So the USA is not safe from climate change either. It's just ignorant.

@@christopherg2347 While the US does have the most total tornado (and tends to have stronger ones thanks to that vast wide open area in the center of the continent), it doesn't have the most per area ( the UK, followed by several other European countries do). Important to keep in mind that the US is REALLY BIG compared to most countries, so in many things we will have "more" of something, but not necessarily more than should be expected given the difference in size. Scale matters!

This seems like its parodying the game, and satirizing society at the same time. Now thats efficiency

The Rising Storm has some interesting elements, but most are just annoying. I mean I had like a SINGLE coal plant in my entire Empire, yet I was somehow producing so much CO2 I almost single-handedly ruined the planet. The only weather-related thing I like are volcanos, the concept of knowing where a disaster MIGHT occur, countered by higher-yields allow for more strategy Most of the rest feels like it adds nothing but randomness to the game

So fun fact about CO2 emissions in civ 6, it doesn't actually matter how many coal power plants you make, but how much power you are using. If you have 1 power plant powering 6 different cities, that can make a alot of CO2.

I watched like 3 videos of yours this month and now I’m getting non stop Church of Norman adds.

Me: trying to figure out how the hell canal construction works so I can split a continent and open the waterways. Aztecs: use the Panama Canal to connect a lake with the ocean

This video perfectly summarises my experience with Civ6 and its infuriatingly omnipresent, neverending SPAM. Thank you game, I really needed 10 messages every turn about forest fires happening halfway across the continent and 20 messages whenever someone declares war and all the city-states join in just to sign peace a moment later. And I *definitely* need to hear about random AI civs complementing my army size or criticizing me for being poor every other turn. Trade offer from a different player? Nah, you don't need to see that shit.

Completely agree, City parks are horrible in Civ VI and not worth the effort to unlock. National park are a different story however, those are great.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the official name of the religion most people know as mormonism. Therefore The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Boats is literally a fancier (more newsy) way of saying 'Boat Mormonism'.

anyone else get shaken awake by the weather alert? as the only time i heard that was during tornado season as a kid (we don't live on the plains currently.)

Oddly enough I'm yet to actually have flooding happen. It could be because I research power ridiculously late and when I do I use oil instead of coal anyway. Well that and I've taken over half of the world by then anyway so basically nobody has power plants so no CO2 problems until the very end of the game.

@@TheOMGJames Who knows. It's quite possible...or they just thought the word "boat" with the word "Mormon" would sound funny and wanted to show respect/make a good joke at the same time in this video.

Interesting fact, the Panama canal was actually named after the hat that our glorious leader John Curtin wears.
