    The reason of why I don’t have kids is because I think It is the other way around. Most of the time the parents are to be blamed. BUT!......As an adult, it also takes a lot of courage and the desire to change in order to throw the chains that hold us from our childhood wounds or habits. I was in denial for a while. I thought that we are not affected by the way we’re brought up when we’re young; it turns out we are. But it’s a good thing to realize, it’s only then that our character shows up. Do we continue being lazy and blame our parents for it? OR...We learn and better ourselves up?

    Many are not parented correctly especially when they are teen parents with no support group. How can a teen parent a child when many times they are trying to live their own lives still, looking to have fun, a child can suffer greatly by their immaturity. Then you have parents whom do all the can but when a young person becomes a young adult they reject counsel trying to find themselves. It is not a parents fault when at times they make decisions and there are always consequences to decisions whether they be good or bad. If you make a bad decision you have to be adult enough to suffer the consequence.

  • @emanueldelove8170

    @emanueldelove8170

    The parents are definitely to blame here. Cissy often said she would have a big problem if Whitney was gay. She behaves like she had no room for sin or sinful lifestyles. But after John Houston had an affair Cissy had an affair in revenge. This is just one example of saying one thing and doing another rather than accepting that we're all flawed. I'm sure there were many other examples on a daily basis whey Whitney was growing up. That behaviour and attitude spills over into your parenting skills. When a parent behaves that way it affects a child. A child that is severely restricted is just going to turn loose when they get older and have the money to do so and no one to tell them no that surrounds them. That child knows there is nothing wrong with having a drink, falling in love and having sex, experimenting with partying, etc and most people do this in moderation but a child that has lived with double standards and has been severely restricted will take it to the extreme because they are suddenly the kid with the keys to the candy store when they were denied a stick of gum for years. This is a common psychological concept. Everyone talks about the rebellious pastor's daughters and it's a common theme for a reason. Cissy did what she thought was the right thing but you can't say you did everything right and then get a wrong result!

    That's the saddest part, to me, about it, with all that love Whitney had, and was sharing, with the world she couldn't see the envy, and jealousy, behind the smiles of those around her, even in her circle of people. You usually have to have been burned, to know everybody ain't your friend, and then you become trained to see clean through people to know if they're true or not. You practically screen people before you allow them to get too close to you, or in your inner circle. It's so refreshing to see people like Whitney being so happy and carefree, because you remember you were once like that, and it's such a free feeling, but you just know you can't go back to being like that, or wind up, in a pit again. I just wondered who had Whitney's back, at the end. I know Cissy did, from the start, and just like me Whitney wanted mom to go home, so she could have her fun. I know the love was strong between Bobby and Whitney, and he had her back, but the world was condemning their marriage not to work, from the start. And when the breakup finally happened Whitney was left wide open, to the vultures, and magpies. Know she found a better life, in heaven.

But Whitney started to rise up, some be happy for you, but some let jealousy eat away at them, and decide she got to go. I'm still working to get over what happened to Whitney. I don't care how many days, or month's go by where I haven't heard something about Whitney, when I do hear something about her, I just get that sadness inside me, again. Same way I feel about Bobbie Kristina, too.

    They turned to drugs after the fact they were GROWN ASS ADULTS. That's not her responsibility to keep up with what they do as adults nor is it her fault or a reflection of her being a bad parent that they turned to drugs. She did her job as a mother. What they do after they hit 18 and are out of her house is SOLELY A REFLECTION OF THEMSELVES, AND demons they may not have had to face during their childhood. Whitney was doing quite well before she turned to drugs, she was a model, TV commercial actress, and adventurally became a WORLD RENEWED MULTI-PLATNUM RECORDING ARTIST, AND THIS WAS ALL BEFORE THERE WAS EVIDENCE OR SUSPICION HER DRUG USE.

    +perth45 A lot of good parents see their children make tragic mistakes. Some of my dearest friends, EXCELLENT parents, have had to deal with drugs, violence, and more in their children's lives. You can tell by the video that the host was elated at having Ms. Houston on the program, hence the reason for talking over Ms. Houston. I think she was trying to keep a tone for the interview, not let the segment go stale whilst such a popular figure being on as a guest. You're right, though, she should've given her the opportunity to speak.

    Everyone knows the masters that they were but that doesn’t not mean they weren’t jealous of her. You really think people don’t know that Aretha is a legend and a master at her craft? That still doesn’t mean that she couldn’t be jealous and be a diva. Aretha was known to be a diva. Also on top of Whitney’s PHENOMINAL voice she was stunningly gorgeous. Sorry but neither of them could match in Whitney’s beauty. All I know is that Whitney has serious insecurities which Kevin Costner pointes out in his eulogy. Where do children get that from? Their parents and elders. They may or may not have done it consciously but something happened to cause that. I would love to know what made Whitney turn so fiercely to drug addiction as a crutch. I feel like she was terribly alone and the people around her were not right. Something was not right.

    Both Aretha & Whitney were talented and gifted, However there is only 1 Queen of Soul that is Aretha Franklin. She never lost her voice. She sang opera Whitney could not! I doubt very seriously if Aretha had any malice or jealousy in her heart for Whitney whom she loved and groomed. However, I think Cissy & Aretha had a falling out. After all Aretha observed the going ons with Whitney as she was growing up. Maybe she knew the Cissy Houston like we will never know. The alcoholism and drugs which infested the Houston family was common knowledge as well. I really admired Whitney’s singing yet her scandals and drugging and who she surrounded herself around was the cause of her destruction! Cissy sounds bitter during this interview I don’t hear or feel how this Woman “Loves” from her body language or how she speaks even in reference to raising children these days. Whitney was searching for love and true acceptance.

    Whitney could definitely sing opera. Clip of her from 1994 doing it. As much as I loved Aretha she could be quite petty when she saw other female talents getting more attention then her. Example Natalie Cole, Patti labelle, Gladys Knight, Mavis Staples and she was even nasty to Whitney when they did there duet together. To be one of the greatest singers of all time and at the same time be so insecure.
