Hi, Thanks for your work about Cisco configuration. I use for my job port-security, as you said, to protect unknown computers. But I’m looking for command who shut port for a little time because it’s a wrong mac@, and when the right PC is connected port is in normal state, so up. If you have any ideas ? Thanks and best regards

@@sukhminderpal2465 thanks for sharing this command, after reading about this, I do that : errdisable recovery cause psecure-violation errdisable recovery interval 30 . This command works well. My mistake was to looking and searching the same command for a port. All switches ports are protected and it’s better. Thanks for your help, have a great day. Best regards.
ive never been a job that did this, to much extra work, but I understand why
sorry to even ask this Q? do you see the layoffs in your arena of IT? Or do you find being a (hands on) technician/engineer/what you do VS sales, management and outliers being non tech layoffs. i dont see anyone really talking about it. Thank you
@EastCharmer
4 ай бұрын
no that's a great question. hhhmmm well I think I can only speak based on my experience and on what I've observed so far since the pandemic. I think IT is solid when it terms of layoffs (tho this might not be the case to all IT jobs). My previous company laid off around 50% and no one from the main IT team was laid off. I think this is because IT runs the infrastructure and systems so if they lay off IT, who's gonna run the tech and who's gonna offboard the people? Also from what I've seen, IT is more stable and safe even if the job isn't always exciting compared to the more popular tech jobs like cybersecurity, software engineers etc coz those were the jobs that were laid off from my company. But this is all just from my experience

Hi, Is there any possible to protect ports with password in unmanageable switch, suppose if I want to add any pc into network it should ask credentials for assigning IP address to that pc. It's possible in unmanageable switch?

Hello, you have to re-enable the port where you plugged in the cable using "no shutdown" command. If you have port security on that port, it would only work on the computer with the MAC address saved on the switch

@@EastCharmer Q. Popularity of clouds storage is increasing so what is your opinion on this and still any scope of Ccna certification in future ?
@EastCharmer
4 ай бұрын
@@ashwinchimankar3392 well that's true but not all businesses are going full on cloud or can go full on cloud. Also, the networking is also one of the backbones of cloud tech. Not so sure about the scope of CCNA in the future but don't just focus on CCNA if you are leaning on networking. Focus of learning Network fundamentals and CCNA just like any other certs expires every 3 years or so. So you still have to keep learning in the future
