Great Video again, Group Managed Service Accounts is a really good suggestion from olioliver2350. Am already qurious about the course your creating
Facing AD is my daily routine
Hello! I’ve been watching your videos and love what you do. I just completed my first semester of BSc IT and was wondering if you could give me a roadmap/suggestions to get to your stream (e.g certifications) of work since IT is so vast. Many thanks xx
Nice tutorial mam. Can you create po yung may user na mag jo join like for example may new hire sa company po plus its limited access. Advance thank you po.
This was well explained, now I can just share this video with people new to AD and I am sure they would easily understand. Good one East Charmer. 👍
Very informative. Can you please make a video on AD with more advance services which are commonly used on daily basics
Thanks !
Thank you very much for the interesting AD video. I have one comment about the service account. Microsoft recommends using Group Managed Service Accounts (gMSA). These have the advantage that the password is managed by Windows and is quite long and you can define the rhythm in which the password should be changed. There are two problems with an AD account as a service user: 1. the password for an AD account is rather insecure (usually only a few characters long). 2. if the password of the AD account is changed, the password must be changed everywhere where the AD account is used as a service user. This is not necessary with a gMSA. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for the tutorial video., 😊 moore such videos..
Good video East Charmer!
Thanks beautiful East Charmer
Power shell or python which will be the best to learn for future in terms of system administration and devops
I'd say Python coz it's not dependent on any systems compared to powershell. But learning basic powershell and bash is also helpful.
Thank you for this windows server course ❤ it helps me to the next level...
I'm gonna definitely going to save this. I am currently a system admin but do not know how to start from scratch. Usually, it's higher-ups who manage this task. This is headache
Oh yeah that's true. I've never setup anything from scratch at work too. It's already setup. It's a good project to show if you apply to be a senior
I'm actually labbing this at home now. Group Policy is kicking my ass though! And the instructor told me to join a new server to a domain but they're on two different virtual machines and the server can't find the domain I created! I'm using Hyper-V.
To get your device to join the AD server you need to make sure your AD has a static IP address. Then on the device you are trying to join you need to go to Network and Sharing center, click your ethernet adapter and go to IPV4 then properties. Change DNS to static and input the AD servers IP address in the first field for DNS.
@@thepokemondusknoir Yes, I set all of that up. That was on the first VM. The instructor said to create a second VM, name it, gave us the static IP to give it, the dns address to give it, but said don't assign a default gateway cause we weren't trying to get out to the internet, then join the new server to the domain on the other VM.
@@thepokemondusknoir I will try that and get back to you cause he didn't say to do all of that.
@@matthewd84 that’s just based of my experience because I just recently created an AD server and joined a windows 10 workstation to it and today I did my GPUpdates and mapped a network drive for shared used.
@@thepokemondusknoir AD has static, 192.168.1.250, dns same, second server IP is .251, dns is .250, so it's the same as the AD domain IP. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
great videos thank you :)
Hihi buti naman poh . Buti nalng din nakita koto video mopo kc mag cicimula na ako sa internship ko nextweek as an IT support po .
Ay nice!! Goodluck sa internship mo!! Oo kaya ako gumawa ng channel para may idea yung gusto mag IT
Never do .local Always do (subdomain).your company’s domain name
Yes but this is practice lab
Thanks for sharing.
You're very welcome!!!
I want take your online class ma'am

@@EastCharmer I wish to work with you ma'am

@@EastCharmer Will be about Windows Server? Cause I want in!
@matthewd84 Yes there will be windows server might add in linux server. And I'm also making an entire course for all IT essential skills like networking, server, OS, cloud, security and soft skills
Wait wait wait... these are all separate roles??? In my 11 years working as a Sys Admin I've done ALL of these. It wasn't tell my current company that I got a dispatcher who contacts users to schedule remote sessions and pushes to close tickets. Must be nice working in the type of shop EastCharmer is talking about lol I would have less grey hair and a decent sleep schedule
When did I say it's separate roles? Those are mostly the responsibilities of IT person. How is that separate? I do all of that
My windows server iso does not install GUI it’s installing the core version. It doesn’t even give me an option to choose anything. Am I doing anything wrong? Anyone else facing this issue? Can you please share the link for the download?
I added the link for ISO download at the description. Can you try that? Should be the x64
@@EastCharmer hey! Thank you, I was able to install it successfully. I'm using Virtual Box and I had to check the Skip Unattended Installtion option while configuring the VM. This solved the issue.
Thank you for the useful information.
You are welcome!!! Glad it was helpful!
I found you so pretty. Anyway thank you doing this
Oh thank you!
OMG!! Finally Thank you so much😍
Yay! You're welcome 😊 more videos to come!!
I always been assumed that windows server needs a huge resource, even as a virtual machine. but, you just showed that it could be installed by the same resource as linux as vm, 20 GB for storage and 2 GB for memory/RAM. nice vid!
Thank you! Well you're right! Windows is usually heavy on resources (that's why I'm not a big fan) but for practice lab, minimum resources are good enough to get started
Very nice po Mam.
Thank you!
Looking forward to this ❤
Hopefully you will setup 2 DCs with sync.
Will do that when I'm done with the basic setup! Also planning to make a video on upgrading the forest Server as well
Hi eastcharmer, please do a test login to other pc once you done creating a users on your AD server. ty
Yes will do! I'll do that on another video and also with a test computer
that would be great!!!
Yay!
East Charmer, Hi East Charmer, I wanted to thank you for your insightful video-it truly helped me understand the I.T. work culture better. I have an idea for a potential collaboration that could be beneficial for both of us: preparing a demo of Type 1 hypervisors, such as vSphere or Proxmox, and networking them. The installation of three virtual servers on the Type 1 hypervisor, include Windows Server 2022 as the primary OS MACHINES--> AD/DC DNS, DHCP, and the File Server Resource Manager. For context, I am currently enrolled in the Cybersecurity Network Engineering program at Valencia College here in Florida. We’ve been focusing on Linux, particularly RHEL, given its increasing importance over the next five years. I look forward to the possibility of working together and learning from your expertise. Best regards, The Cyber-Associate | Lifetime Learner🤓
Hello there! You are very welcome! and I'm really glad you find this video useful! Yes I am open for collaboration and those are great ideas for a project!!
@@EastCharmer Great🤓I have all the Labs for Install and Config Windows Server and I will be taking Administering Windows Server in Fall 2024 along with Linux Networking and Security. We can brainstorm soon.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, highly appreciate it💞
You are so welcome! I'm happy to share and glad you find the content helpful!
Thank you for the updated video. <3
My pleasure!
dropping absolute gold mines for free thank you so much
No problem 👍 more tutorial videos to come!!!
Love your channel from Paris... You motivated me to take the Google it support and Cisco ccst networking certifications :)
Happy to hear that! Goodluck on passing your certs!! Making videos also motivates me to learn more!
@@EastCharmer i already have it :)
Thank you very much for the video. It was super interesting and informative. I have a challenge for you. Build a domain controller on a Windows Server 2022 Core, incl. DHCP and DNS. And as an additional task, integrate a second DC server core. Thank you
You're welcome!!! More videos on Windows server to come! ooohhhh great ideas! I'll accept the challenge once I finish making this Basic AD project series
I have a few suggection. 1. use the Ctrl+Alt+Inst instead, it will send Ctrl+Alt+Del to VM. it is easy to press "any key" during on CD boot prompt. 2. install Vmware Tool after the os installation will got the better screen resolution😃
Thanks!! Yes I forgot to add those in video. Yeah it's easy to press any key prompt but it gets missed easily when you're not paying attention coz it happened to me so it's also good to know if someone encounters it
@@EastCharmer it is not a good design on UEFI🥲
Lovin these videos... Pls make video on setting up dhcp, dns, and web blocking and all other domain control features for windows server
Thank you so much!! Really glad you liked these videos. I'll make more videos on those topics next and maybe add scripting and backup too
I so much love your patience and attention to details. Thank you for this refresher course
