Just recently know from reading the book Dior Runway, the show was inspired by Sigmund Freud dream interpretation, that all those creepy looks were from the unconscious of the wedding guests. Truly an eye opener for a millennial runway show

I think all fashion requires time for the hype to die down before its virtues (or lack thereof) can be revealed. It’s why places like the Met’s Costume Institute are so important, they allow us to really see what has stood the test of time in terms of innovation and craftsmanship. I’m waiting to see how much of this Vetements streetwear nonsense will end up in a retrospective of fashion thirty years from now.

Hes definitely in my top 3 I have been watching him since i was a teenager hes amazing at dior and manson. This is indeed a very dark show

According to Jeremy Healy who composed the soundtracks for Galliano’s runways, Steven Spielberg attended this show with the intention of asking John to create costumes for one of his films, but walked out on hearing whip cracks, and moans. Iconic

I'd say dressing black people as "savages" is probably a bit less done these days

Now i understand why they critize so much Maria Grazia, this is simply so much beyond just fashion, the richness and soul in the clothes and the presentation, there will never be someone like John Galliano again. I truly think Dior should hire John again, that would make History and would bring the house of Dior to a place that only had during John Gallianos era, it was simply magical.

As far as I remember, he wasn't screaming, but it was a PR nightmare they wanted to avoid at all costs. Get this though - the patrons in the original video WERE LAUGHING! The people who he was drunk ranting at didn't even take it seriously because they knew it was drunk nonsense. Maybe he went too far and it looked bad, but my God, they went over the top with their response to what was originally a victimless crime.

Imagine setting the bar at the top and being able to outdo yourself every single time. Galliano did again and again. This man transcends fashion itself.

Thank you soo much!!! Not only was Galliano a brilliant couturier at Dior, he was also an incredible showman! Dior needs someone who can be BOTH those things if the house wants be great again.

Wow when fashion transcends reality! Dior will never be the same without gallino. 3:55 is carmen dell'orefice, she is now 88 years old, the oldest working model in the industry. 12:06 is Debra shaw, exquisite supermodel! She wore that black mask with crucifix on it and stuck her tounge out on the runway for Alexander mcqueen's dante, and she was superb im muglers shows! There both still working to this day!

Watching in 2019, still holds up & makes current haute couture collections look boring AF. Love the continuity of the deconstructed/reconstructed corsets throughout. The soundtrack MADE it. Thanks for getting a hold of this original version.

I miss this genius everyday. Dior will never be what it was during the Galliano years. We will never see this kind of theater again. McQueen and Galliano were couture and theater.

The soundtrack itself is a piece of art! It really made the show unforgettable and mesmerising!!

So avant- grade, could’ve saved a lot of words by just saying he falls into the avant grande territory of designers. I will say he does tho this years maison margiela haute couture was awesome

Frighteningly beautiful. The kimono clad cross bearer and the white-faced in green dress kinda scared me nevertheless a sublime work of art.

Gallino is incredible outstanding! A pioneer of fashion like Alexander McQueen. But Thierry Mugler was No 1 , check out his 1997 Spring summer show. Best in all of history
