Maison Margiela Artisanal Collection 2024

Ойын-сауық

The ritual of dressing is a composition of the self. With the body as our canvas, we build an exterior expressive of the interior: a form of emotion. The Maison Margiela 2024 Artisanal Collection paints a picture of the practices and occurrences that shape the character reflected within our dress.
Under Pont Alexandre III, bathed in the light of the first full moon of the year, Creative Director John Galliano captures a moment in time: a walk through the underbelly of Paris, offline.

But what they really mean is couture is dead. Couture is real artisty and craft. Fashion is just trends and styles that come and go. That never dies. So no fashion is not dead. The fund$ it takes to create an “artisanal” collection like this and showcase it with such theatrically and emotion are actually massive; on top of the fact that doing all this is not easy, practical nor profitable for a fashion house. When galliano headed Dior his budget was never ending, he could do anything and did as he pleased. When he got fired it was only a matter of time, the world was changing and the purse strings were tightening. He would not have lasted long at Dior regardless. Those saying “He’s back” don’t get that he’s back only because he has the funds and resources to do so. Industry insiders always believed in John. No one deserted him or doubted him after his downfall, because they know his genius is unique and real. He never lost it. He just got lost in the everyday bulls**t of social politics

Лондона? конца 19 века, эти невозможные корсеты, женщины с необъятными бедрами и такой манящей символически прикрытой наготой , каждый мужчина на подиуме- отдельная личность со своим характером, музыка объединяющая прошлое и современность ... We don't know if it's a commercial strategy or what, but "boss" has approved and liked this. Also, compared to other giant brands, the quality of this show is way much better. We should appreciate this and let Galliano and Margiela go.

if you say there is no martin margiela, then you are mistaken. I would say look again. Pause, pay attention to the details. It is Margiela designed by Galliano. And that's exactly what it's supposed to be. The galliano elements might be more visually dominant at first sight but at a closer inspection, the old martin margiela details are all there.

There is no controversy. Drunk people say stupid things, that's all. He acknowledged his mistake but some people wanted to make an example of him. Some people wanted to advance their agenda and act as if they were the only victims under Hitler, even monopolizing the term "semitic". Being Semitic is not only jews, even less is about zionists. They wanted to label him "antisemitic" and cancel him, when Semites implies other groups that are not jews or zionists. Not happy with the land they stole from other people, even that word they want to appropriate. Zionists want to act as the perpetual victims to get further political benefits in the present world. LGBTQI+ people were not even helped after Hitler fall. He just said what he said in a drunk rage episode and apologized for it. The Zionist wanted to make an issue out of it.

He never was so dark back then but I am glad he started to expressing himself boldly in case of form and design like he used to back then. It is like he was scared to be himself last years after that silly bar accident. He is one of last great desigers that actually design and creates art ant not just a stylist who put random stuff together. Please give Galliano a big brand so he can shine in full spootlight!!

To say that this collection was beautifully sublime and surreal is somehow still an understatement. This really was an ode and a rebirth of Galliano and his life's work interpreted in an edited Margiela skin. From the amputee Freddy mercury performance, to the models walking to a remixed Hometown Glory by Adele, to the set, to all the models bursting a life and character into their walks, and to the absolute love and obsession for craftsmanship and fashion - this was beyond triumphant! I cried many parts during the show because as a teenager I obsessed over Galliano's theatrics and fashion, and to see it come alive again was truly magical. I would die if I ever got the honor and pleasure of witnessing this live. Bravo bravo bravo Galliano and Margiela team! 🎉❤🙌🏼🫶🏼🙏🏼

There are fashion shows that are mandatory to learn about simply because of muh they changed the industry forever- think Versace fall 1991, Mugler Couture Fall 1995, Lee McQueen Spring 2010, and now added to this list is Margelia Spring couture 2024.. Props to Mr. Galliano, Pat McGrath (makeup artist), and all involved… THIS WAS A SPECTACULAR SHOW NO ONE WILL FORGET ANYTIME SOON

A show that will leave other houses gooped! Takes me right back to the days when the industry was actually about being creative instead of hocking homogenous clothes for a logo and Truly schooling the children on what fashion really means. For me, the entire presentation rolls the creativity of Galliano, Lee McQueen and Westwood into one delicious gluttonous buffet of visual delights that leaves me starving for more. Bravo Monsieur….Bravo! We have just witnessed fashion history.

@@naurrrre Now is that anyway to have a discussion about art? Like it or not, everyone has their own opinions, you certainly don’t have to agree. That’s your personal choice. An artistic visual buffet like this is meant to inspire and give pathways to open discussions. However, if that is your ideas of having a “proper discussion “….I’m gonna opt out of this. Have a lovely day.

I understand why attendees needed to have their phones out…and you can see by the end that many were just too mesmerized to keep recording . For those of us watching, the phone screens were the only aspect that took away from all the effort. Fantastical artistry punctuated by unfortunate detritus of the real world.

Absolutely spell binding.. The dark fantasy, ghostly relics that inhabit the mind of John Galliano. Escaping , discovering a foggy portal into our world. Tip-toeing frenetically on the streets of Paris, colliding with Pat McGrath's brush, pick-pocketing Renzo Russos wallet containing Martin Margielas telephone number, under everyones nose. This was quite possibly the best Artisinal collection by John. Story telling genius. Proving that if you amass a league of talent that truly shares your vision and can put on such a breath taking display, the world will perhaps recognize the genius that has just breezed by. Bravo!

So subterranean and so opulent, so sensitive and so cheeky, so retro and so futuristic, he is above and below, he knows how to be everywhere and take us into his magical and ingenious universe. The planets finally move and open the doors to sovereigns again, the real ones who give us back hope, beauty and courage. Galliano is an alchemist, he transforms matter and elements. Welcome back and thank you.
