Yes Galliano went viral at Dior… but that was fashion world viral. This is the first time anyone has gone viral for people that may have at most a passing interest in fashion. I love Galliano as a designer but this is the first time I searched out a whole runway show to watch. And I know I wasn’t the only one. This show was a turning point in the way the fashion world interacts with the culture as a whole.

we are finally getting to appreciate amazing couture, on the moment! I remember being 16 on 2016 watching the Dior 2004 Spring Couture show, dreaming of witnessing a show as spectacular and wonderful as this show was 🥹💘

someone finally gave us genuine diversity that everyone was able to relate to, enhancing individual beauty is what sold us that this was meant to showcase our world. the makeup looks were made out of re-embraced antiquity of doll faces because everyone wants to also feel like their own unique doll

Doesn’t matter how many times I rewatch this show it leaves me breathless and in awe and in tears. Truly a (long needed) masterpiece :‘)

Also, keep in mind that this is an artisanal collection, Margiela also releases "wearable" garments for people to buy and can actually wear in a daily basis.

Totally agree. Kidman's actual dress was on display at a Dior exhibit in NYC. Up close it's STUNNING! Even better than in photos. The detail is off the charts.

The vase with flowers next to Gwendoline Christie, that staging, is quite a genius statement. Thank you Monsieur Galliano for giving us beauty again and sharing it with us.

there’s a reason why John and Pat are icons, they have birthed together the most beautiful fashion images of the last 30 years, they conveyed beauty in a way that has been done before, their influence is far reaching in the world

I’m a very casual fan of fashion… on the periphery really, but when I swiped and saw the footage of Gwendoline posing in that dark room… tall, big hipped, porcelain and eerily brooding, I literally got chills and had to know more. I’ve never had chills over fashion in my life, but this was something I’d never seen before and felt like a new vision. I think it should be a clarion call to fashion designers that you can elevate ALL body types through fashion, and we’re missing out by not using the gamut of bodies that exist in the world.

this collection transcends the word viral in so many ways and so beyond that the word looks so tiny next to it, the whole thing is genuinely a masterpiece

That’s why Galliano is a master. And what we saw in 2024 was routine when he was at Dior. One show more spectacular than the previous. His Gueixa and Egyptian collections are some of my favourites. He and Patt are the dream team. And Gwendoline? A true goddess❤

As a designer myself, it is was ABSOLUTELY wonderful too see! its art and couture in its highest form and you can hear the passion in everyone's voices when they talk about the show and it made me emotional!

if that egyptian 2004 show had taken place 10 years later, it would have gone viral. so many people cite that as the real beginning of their fashion obsession.

Absolutely adore Galliano and the rich inner world he lets us peer into, the collection and collaborations altogether were a stroke of pure genius

Pat needs to be acknowledged as, idk, a sort of second designer of this show. Her porcelain skin became one of the signature elements.

This entire collection needs to be in a museum. It should travel so people can see it. Beyond brilliant. Sir Galliano has once again proven that he is an artist par excellence. Bravo 👏👏👏👏👏

I’ve been a collector of porcelain dolls since I was 6. My grandma had a very large collection and would gift me one every time I’d visit her because she could see how enamoured I was with them. That is why this is my absolute favorite fashion show, just so beautiful and unique. I love it!

He and Pat put the fashion show to another level

this show made me cry. these are the shows i grew up aspiring to watch in real time. I know he's made mistakes but John is the last major couturier of our time. A connection to art & the 90s and someone that deserves every single flower.

just want to give kudos to the audio and visual departments, equally as beautiful and complimented the artistry so well, even this video sounds amazing!!

What makes it even more interesting is the Pat McGrath mirror makeup, that is fact. I learned about this show because of her viral makeup looks 👌🏼

The dynamic duo. John + Pat does it again. They trust and know each other so much. It's more than just a working relationship. It is true collaboration with such love & mutual respect that is so rare to see and I am so glad to witness it.

I live for his style! All I hear in my head is his voice saying “suck it in so we can slay the universe “ and Pat is a true genius. She is truly out of this world for creating this technique for all colors and shades. We will be talking about this for decades.

It was so happy to anyone who loved Galliano’s creations between 90/2000’s to see her historical inspiration making it again to the headlines. I love him for that, and I can see clearly the late 1890’s and 1900’s inspiration in this collection. The pigeon bustle, the corset, the Gibson girl hairstyle.

He is the best designer of our generation! No one can reach to his level of vision of beauty❤❤❤❤❤❤

John Galliano is being too kind, he may not have gone viral but his Alice and Wonderland Dior Couture show haunts my dreams in the very best way. In that show, I understood couture, I let myself travel into his world and just simply loved it.
