I think he would have been caught anyways, he left way too many bread crumbs for the police to follow, however, Nicole did speed up the process and because of her he was unable to get rid of alot of Shan'ann things, like her purse, phone, medications and her vehicle. I believe his intentions were to get rid of all those things yet by Nicole heading him off he was unable to do so, he didn't realize that she had an appointment with her baby doctor and that Nicole was suppose to accompany her, also with their plane being delayed she got home much later than I believe he anticipated, thus throwing several wrenches into his evil plans.

Also, this is just my opinion, I believe he had already killed the girls before Shan'ann arrived home, he had even messaged his boss the day before to volunteer to go to the work site where he dumped the girls and buried Shan'ann, I personally believe he knew what his plans and intentions were that morning when she arrived home and he followed them out, yet his dumb, evil ass made way to many mistakes! All this over another female and money! He knew if he filed for divorce that he was going have to pay out the ass in child support and alimony, which would have taken money away from him spending it on himself and his new ho'. Plus with her being pregnant he knew that was just going to be that much more he was going have to pay out. I think I read some where that they only had 9 dollars in their savings account and they were 3 months behind on their house mortgage, credit cards all maxed out, their monthly mortgage on that huge 400, 000 home was around 2700 a month, not including their other bills, they had already filed bankruptcy once and I believe they were getting ready to file it again. I'm not making excuses for Chris cause everyone has bills and they don't Slaughter their entire family but I believe there were many many things added up to why he begun having an affair, yet he just went bonkers and took the shit way way to far!

Child support may not be cheaper than prison, but he was also a narcissist and didn't want his nice guy, good husband/father image tarnished by getting a divorce. Instead if they just disappeared or left him, he will get sympathy as the grieving lonely husband. He can then pursue someone else, live a free life and not be burdened by an ex-wife and kids.

He started working out and got fit, that was the first step to finding someone else…he was miserable in this marriage and wanted out…a 3rd kid on the way was completely stupid…but he did this wrong , just divorce her , and pay support on 2 kids..if he wanted out I’m sure it was festering for awhile , I would not be having a 3rd kid, i bet she trapped him with the new pregnancy…he. Went from a chubby guy to work8ng out and looking good, once his confidence got better by looking better, he started looking for someone new and Nicole just came into the pic, she reminded him of the single life and no kids , plus she prolly was less “fake”….he just shoulda filed for divorce…don’t murder them , them poor girls did nothing to him.

Yeah she is supposedly in witness protection, she contacted a drug addiction treatment facility after the murder, she was looking up wedding dresses for HOURS right around the time of the murder & was looking at an apartment for chris to move into, plus someone is leaving the watts house on the Vivent camera at the front door I think it's right b4 he loaded the body in the truck, which must of been there during &/or helped with the murder. She definitely should of been poly graphed about it all at least. The mistress claimed she was looking up shanann on social media multiple months before she was even involved with chris. I call BS l, she tries to distance herself and make it seem like a quick fling when really she was involved with the murder. && ULTIMATELY THE MURDERS MOTIVE for the murder was his mistress was messing around with another guy, which she said is the only other person that also had a key to her apartment, he was going to come back days after the murder & she was going to chose him if Chris wasn't going to be together & serious and with her only, his mistress wanted to have Chris's fit boy child and shanann was prego with a boy.

Then he tried to cover it up by acting like he didn't know where they were. A "mistake" of killing his entire family would've broken him but instead he didn't care one bit. You saw that officer's body cam recording, right? This was premeditated. Not saying he wouldve killed her the first year they met but ultimately this wouldn't have happened had she kept deleting his request. And what issues did she have besides the fact she suspected something was wrong? Its an insecurity and she didn't wanna lose him especially now that their family was growing more. Nothing will ever piss me off more than the fact that, once Chris confessed, the police stopped investigating NicHOE (Nichol). Do you notice that POS Chris came home and never acknowledged Nickole as seen on the cops body cam footage. Right there is a huge red flag, you would be grateful someone stepped up for your family and got the police involved, questioned his missing wife's whereabouts. Was concerned for his wife. If he were a good man, he would have appreciated that. He was PISSED. Asshole. She foiled his clean up plans.

The one thing I haven’t seen addressed…… the mistress searched for Shanaan almost a year before she met Chris …. WHY?????

She wanted to help people, and I believe she has, in her tragic death, has and will continue to help women see the red flags in people they trust. She will be remembered forever❤

Even so, he definitely wouldn’t have gotten away it either way. Ruling out suicide would have been obvious since Shan’nan couldn’t have had any possible alibi that would have alluded to such course of action and the footage only showed Chris leaving his house. He was screwed either. I can’t believe that someone would go through such disgusting lengths to be with someone else.

Great documentary. I'm starting to think that the fact that Nicole showed up at the house to check on her friend and called Chris actually ruined Chris' plans. I'm sure he was going to get rid of the car, and any belongings of his wife and kids and make it seem like they left. Good thing Nickole had the reflex to check on her friend Shannan. Otherwise, it would have given Chris more time to cover his tracks.

Marc Etende I agree totally. That's exactly what I thought. He thougt he had the entire weekend to set the stage, and make it look as though she packed up, took the girls and left. Then the car would have been found far away, or not at all if there's a large body of water nearby, and that woukd have been that, he could ride off into the sunset with the girlfriend, insurance money, no more debt, and as he thought of his beautiful family, baggage.

What I find particularly disturbing is that Chris put his kids down to bed that night knowing he was going to kill them. He asked to cover that oil site for work the next morning because he had already planned the murder. What a disgrace.

Because Shan'ann always put her children first. She was an excellent and totally loving mother. Every video she had of her with her girls clearly expressed the deep love she had for her Bella and Celeste. Even with Niko, each video or social media post she made was very telling and indicative of the love she had for him already.

I must say this is the best short documentary i have found on the web. It contains clear and concise information backed up by the real documents attached to this case. Easy to follow even for those that are not familiar with this horrific shocking event.

This particular documentary has details in it that hadn't been in others. It ties the timeline up much more cohesively and coherently. Thank for posting!

Her desperation to make their marriage work is so sad. She must’ve been so panicked and lost in the time before her death, she loved him so much and wanted to make it work so bad. So so sad.

And that is what gives her the motive instead of Chris. If the gender roles were reversed you would be blaming the rejected party for the murder of the kids but because in this case it is the man leaving the woman you fail to see the obvious motive the rejected woman had. When men kill their families, they kill them out of rage when they feel rejected without prior planning. They also almost always kill themselves after killing the family. Facts don't fit Chris killing his kids. He could have walked out anytime he liked, he was not emotionally tied to the relationship and had no motive to kill his kids.

@callyharley I don't think they are actually hiding anything, the defense has the right to receive all evidence related to the case so at least they received it all and it should all be listed. Has everything already been released through FOIA requests etc. I don't know, but I don't think there is any "cover-up" or attempt to hide something per say. Yes, to me it's obvious that Chris deserves to be in jail for the murder of his wife as no self defense scenario would allow him to proceed further than merely stopping her if she was hurting the kids. But did he kill the kids? I think nobody but Chris knows for certain and one could easily argue that at least it has not been proven as the autopsy could not show which one of the parents did that or even the order of death. I also think the cops probably also believe Chris didn't do that, because they didn't even suggest another polygraph to determine that. If they thought Chris had done it too, I think they would have at least tried to get Chris take another polygraph and attempt to make the job of the prosecution easier. Only if they thought he was telling the truth about that, would the not suggest another polygraph as that would be making the prosecutors job harder if Chris had been able to partially clear himself.

Even though I've seen and heard all this information before, (so I thought) but the way you presented it was so interesting and informative! I now feel like I know for a FACT those babies were killed before Shan'ann came home that night! The way CW describe's how Bella looked in that baby monitor, is a image I'll NEVER forget! May his soul burn in a lake of fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥.. Also I do feel like the CW that Shannan married was not the same CW that annihilate his family! 💔💔💔💔😭😭

There is so much to still be investigated about Kessinger and what she knew and if she was telling Chris to end his wife and childrens lives. She was googling the Watts family name a year before they even met. Why is that? Did she have motives a year prior to them meeting? In my opinion, I believe Kessinger is an evil women, a home wrecker and that she should be in jail too. She changed her name since this happened and moved to an undisclosed location. I pray that no other man falls into her web as the may end up in a cage along side Chris Watts. The beautiful Shanann, Bella, CC and Nico lives were take away from them and we all know that they are in heaven now. Friends and family will miss them forever. I pray that they are all at peace.

His wife was so pretty and obviously talented and motivated. Shannan deserved better and so did her girls.

Maybe, but there are unfortunately very similar cases….see the Chis Coleman murders. Dateline has a good version called “the Writing on the Wall,” and the case is also a man having an affair who kills his young kids and wife, while the wife had stayed in hopes of saving the marriage. The parents of the husband are also awful, and were openly contemptuous of the wife, who seemed absolutely lovely and a great mom.

I would like to say that you did a wonderful in presenting this case with the evidence. I would also like to thank you for not portraying the victims in a negative light. Having seen almost every video on KZread regarding this case I wish I'd of watched this one first. Out of all the documentaries, episodes, podcasts, etc., this is the only video that provides a comprehensive list of events thoroughly compiled in chronological order vs having to watch 20 separate videos to piece everything together. Had I seen this first I would have saved hours and hours of watching lengthy stories where again this video does that for you. And most importantly it was done in my opinion respectfully to all parties who were unfortunately personally involved.

I wonder, if they police even questioned nk when nk told police she met chris in (what was) June r july nd that she didn't know about Shannan till later on. If I was the officer I would of said "well counting to your search history on your phone in sept you looked up Shannan, so why are you sitting here lying about when you found out about her". I mean I could be wrong because I can't find much on nk and have only found the second interview that she did I never even heard the first one that she did. So did they ever call her out on that of searching Shannan in sept?

It still haunts me that Shannan never got to truly “get home to her babies”. They were sleeping when she got home and then she was killed before she could hug and kiss and hold her babies one last time.

She was never successful in that pyramid scheme. If she had been, they wouldn't have been weeks away from being thrown out of their home for non payment of the mortgage. If she was making "so much money," why were they being taken to court over non payment of HOA fees? Why was she using that monsters paycheck to buy thrive crap? Cops found $25+k worth of thrive crap in their basement. She wanted to live high off the hog, but didn't want to get a "real" job to help pay for it. She had champagne taste on a beer budget.

This is an amazing account of events, well done. I think it's appropriate to add Kessinger at the end and make it clear that while this was happening she was already planning to profit from the murders. She also lied in her statements to the press, pretending that she didn't know he was married, when clearly she did. The idea that just four days after knowing for certain that the man she was sleeping with had murdered his wife and three children, she was seeing how she could make money from it, that's just chilling to me. I hope she never makes a dime.

youtubeuser what she said is a lie. She searched up Shannan on Facebook on September 1st,2017. Months before her and Chris even had a thing, so she was WELL aware that he was a married man. Let's all be real here too, but when we search someone up on Facebook we do a little stalking on their posts too.. So she was also aware that he was married and had two daughters. Then four days after he was charged with murder she googled about another case that is similar to this one , in hopes for her to also write a book about it = make profit $$$ off of the murders and the whole case. Very sickening woman, no morals. Thirsty for dick up her ass.

Chris watts was el'stupido he didn't think at all, left everything there including her cell phone, money, purse, all of the kids clothes and toys, plus he kept smiling when interviewed, I am glad he was dumb so he could be caught but wish he had been smart enough not to have done it in the first place.

Catbag ye agree. That alone would have cought him. He did so many mistakes, luckily. This may not have been planned at all. Probably an impulsive act during an argument. His biggest mistakes:1. Withdrawing the kids from school the same day. 2. Neighboors camera that he even knew about. 3. Gps in the car. Not only was he a psychopath but he was also a complete moron.

So sad! The oldest daughter looked exactly like him.

Yeah, how in the world? I cannot even yell at my dog. If I did she would look all sad and then I would be sad and I don't like to be sad looking at my dog. How does a dad end his look alike child's life with a plastic bag and looking her right in the face. Son of a bitch, that shit is harsh. It is beyond me and it is why I am going back to watching old movies where things like this don't happen. My heart is ripped out for the loss of these three women and a young unborn son.

Awii, the neighbor's cam was focused on his own truck in his own driveway; in the vid, you can just see Chris Watts' activity in the peripheral. Yeah, the neighbor was probably a bit of a busybody, but I'm sure Chris Watts had exhibited some mind-boggling behavior in the past that put the neighbors on alert.

This man showed no remorse for these horrific acts...and didn't seem uncomfortable about returning to the huge, empty, cold home, which was once filled with life. Scary 😢

Its like watching a stack of playing cards made into a building that begans to fall apart in slow motion.

Whats also notable is that if Shanann had made it to her doctors appointment that morning, they would have tested her urine and taken blood samples to see what was wrong, and they would have discovered the oxycontin in her system from when Chris poisoned her with it in North Carolina when he showed up. Shanann didn’t do drugs, and it would have caused Chris a LOT of problems when she figured out why she was so sick in NC and realized he was the cause.

NK and CW were NOT in love. They were in lust. NK's affair with CW was premeditated. She wanted him, but more so, she wanted Shanaan's life. NK googled her way before and she liked what she saw. Shanaan had beautiful pictures of her family, children, home, car, a fulfilling career and especially a lot of romantic photos with her husband in which she captioned how much she loved him. But NK was on a mission to replace Shanaan and she knew Shanaan was going to die because she googled "what do people think of Amber Fray"? AF was the mistress of Scott Peterson, the man who killed his pregnant wife Lacy over his lover. The difference between AF and NK is huge!! Amber didn't know he was married. She had a conscience and she cooperated with the police. NK took advantage of the time SW was away, to put thoughts in CW's mind and by the time SW came back from her trip, CW was ready to pounce on her like an animal, and kill her. If NK did not want Shanaan dead, then why would she google Amber? She could have googled"what do people think of Angelina Jolie!! There are numerous examples of other mistresses whose men have left their wives while these remained alive. Do you get my point? NK, in her warped mind, had everything to gain because she was getting older and had no husband. She could probably get a man for a short time by luring him with her body, but other than that, she had nothing of value to offer. She was not marriage material to a "normal" man. There was nothing special about her, no major current accomplishments, no children. Only her and her dog inan apartment. She was a loser but Shanaan was special, and she knew it. The only thing she could offer Chris was butt sex. And after he took a whiff of that, he was hooked. She painted a rosey picture of their future life, she was finding an apartment for him and googling wedding dresses. But she didn't know that everything was a mirage. It was not as "picture perfect" as she thought. Chris and Shanaan were on the brink of bankruptcy, the house was behind in payments, they had no money and a baby on the way. Plus, the husband she lusted after, turned out to be an evil, psycho, who would also kill his children. Oh how her planned backfired!! And that is the reason why on her interrogations with the police, she minimized the relationship they had and told them it was Chris pursuing her, when in reality, it was the opposite. Now that all emails, texts and pics are discovered, she is nowhere to be found. Shanaan really did this woman the greatest favor, NK really deserved CW and if they just had waited, it would probably have happenned because Shanaan was not very happy. She was seeking legal advice on divorce. She wanted that "picture perfect" life she portrayed on Facebook, but let's be honest, how happy can you be if you are a normal person married to a psychopath who has to google, "how does someone feel love"? That says it all.

I agree...plus CW admits NK was into occult practices and it was very dark... So I believe Shanann and her children were a sacrifice but NK had to find someone to do it for her. CW was the fall guy and this is how jezebels behave. Now she's in the witness protection program and prob got the wealth she was after now that 4 lives are gone on her behalf. A pregnant woman is the biggest target in satanic sacrifice, children second.
