I am Pro capital punishment if you are going to do something that is so vile and Despicable to another human being then yes but it's not like these people who are getting executed have not done some heinous crime the sad part is is that a sadistic Killers death is nicer than what he has done to others

They are those that commit crimes accidently, self defense, traumatise, abusive environment etc. They r criminal who repent, would like to seek atonement, and those who regrets n if only they could turn back time, they would make a different choice. There r in different categories. I vote for death penalty 4 those who murders INNOCENT people WITHOUT motive or perhaps their motive simply 4 pleasure, those who never felt what they did is wrong. Those psychopath that we know reasoning with them is pointless, n second chance 4 them is like giving permission to kill more innocent people. Do they deserve our sympathy? Life prison is not an option to them. Y should we cater 4 them after what they have done? Is there any reason y we should keep them alive...can they help us solve other cases that involve people like them. We can never understand how their mind work..

Firstly, I can't believe the last guillotine execution was so recent. That blew my mind. As far as whether I'm for or against it... That's always a hard one to answer. There is that part of me that follows that 'eye for eye' belief but at the same time I couldn't see killing someone because they did. It's like you all said in the video: we should be above that. Then again, when it comes to things like violence or horrible acts against children I immediately change my mind. It's kind of a case by case basis in my eyes. Then again, here in America, we're already dealing with overcrowding prisons so... I suppose I'm for it. With that said, I'm only for lethal injection. Firing squad, electric chair and such are mush too barbaric I believe. Lethal injection, if carried out correctly, seemed to be peaceful in a way. Great video, guys! Such a though provoking topic. I'd love to work with you all one day!

Mr. Davis Yeah, but the guillotine is *SO* much more efficient! Lethal injection has gotten really, really janky as of late, and the peeps who are the "executioners" often don't know what they're doing. There's a *super* interesting doc here on YT that deals with this subject. I was blown away by some of the ways states are doing executions now. I'll see if I can find the link. Have a good one!

Hey from Australia. I'm against capital punishment. After watching a couple of shows on execution I am definitely convinced that it's for the sake of retribution & revenge. To murder one who Murders is and calling it justified is ridiculous. To execute is giving them freedom. That's what I think anyay

Wow I literally just subscribed today and wondered what the upload rate is like, and lo and behold it, a new video. Quite the timing, I must say. Anyways, about capital punishment, I can't say that I'm against capital punishment, but I can say that I'm not against it, either. With the factors that have already been mentioned in this comment section (the chance of sentencing an innocent person with the death penalty, flawed system etc), it needs to be a clear cut that the person did the crime.

I did a paper on this in college where I started supporting capital punishment but after a lot research, my stance changed. Not because of a sympathy for the accused because fundamentally, I do support capital punishment....eye for an eye and all that. Unfortunately, it is insanely more expensive on taxpayers when this punishment is pursued. Crimes that carry this punishment tie up so much money in appeals and court cost (significantly more than life imprisonment sentence) and it does little to deter capital level crimes. I believe that life at hard labor is a much more fitting punishment for hardened criminals.

For example, here in New Mexico there is a mother and 2 others who were involved in injecting meth, sexually assulting her, killing, dismembering and setting the 10 year old girls body on fire in the bathtub... They should never be able to take another breath!!!

Currently we have "reasonable suspicion", "probable cause", "preponderance of evidence" and "beyond a reasonable doubt" as levels of evidence in the U.S. legal system. We need one more before I am comfortable with capital punishment. We need "beyond a shadow of a doubt" in order to be sure someone really did the crime that carries a death penalty. If there are bodies in the basement like in the John Wayne Gacy case or corpses in the fridge like the Dahmer case, then it is proper to eliminate those criminals so that they cannot harm anyone else. The death penalty is only a deterrent for rational criminals. People guilty of capital crimes are not rational. The only purpose for the death penalty is for the safety of society. Doesn't matter if the criminal had a rough childhood or is somehow "insane" or was under something's influence. No other families should suffer just because someone had a "bad break in life" and makes poor decisions. If "beyond a reasonable doubt" is the only standard met in a capital case, then life in prison must be used in the event it is proven another person actually committed the capital crime.

+Morbid Minds Hi y'all...I don't know precisely where I stand on capital punishment. I mean, if the person is a perverse, hideous, sadistic, torturous, sociopath do I think he (or she) should be killed? I *think* I'd say a resounding "Yes!" to that. Then again, I'm still not sure. It seems to me that "murdering" someone is *still* murder. I might feel differently if it were someone I loved. Also, with the American justice system as it stands currently, I feel like people of color are unfairly targeted. Back in the day this was *especially* true, but in today's climate I think "racial profiling" is rampant, and as likely as ever to be "abused."I watched a documentary on execution, and it was appalling how certain states will just "hire" an executioner - many of whom don't have any idea how to do a "proper" lethal injection." One of the people took FOREVER to die, and because he was paralyzed no one was sure if he could still feel and think (though it was assumed he could). Not just that, but if we *REALLY* could believe that "life in prison without parole" means just that, then we wouldn't have the endless appeals - that cost we taxpayers untold $$ over the 10-20 years that the prisoner files these appeals. I've written FAR more than I intended, but I guess I had MUCH more to say than I thought. Thanks to whomever made it to the end of my diatribe! lol

The US murders people everyday in the unjust wars we fight in. No disrespect to you of course im just saying how corrupt our government is. Honestly i wouldnt even consider capitol punishment as murder its more like a civic duty like if someone was trying to kill you and i had a gun and i shot him. I dont know where you stand as far as religion goes but the bible says God basically established the government for the purpose of capitol punishment and to make sure people have some sort of law and order. An example would be if i robbed you and was found guilty i would have to pay you back 4 times the amount i stole. Our government isnt anything like what the bible says or the constitution for that matter.

I totally believe in capital punishment! Most sit in prison way too long before being executed. With all the controversy of the failure/torture of lethal injection some states are bringing back hanging and the firing squad. As long as the person is absolutely guilty, whatever gets the job done is fine with me.

Alright here is where I stand on this. One one hand the Death Penalty should be for those who do the most vile crimes imaginable (Genocide, Rape, Child Abuse, Murder) but then if it’s abolished. I won’t mind if these guys get life in prison. Yeah inside me I have a part where it prefers cruel mercy... We shouldn’t give these people a slap on the wrist for ruining lives through Murder and Rape.

Capital Punishment should not only be legal, but should be mandatory for 1.) Murder of children 2.) Any premeditated murder and 3.) Sexual assault on a child. Hear me out, Men who commit sexual assault on a child and are released from prison are more likely to relapse/repeat their offense than a drug addict is. Thats a fact. Anyone who sexually assaults a child litera)my destroys their life. Some turn to prostitution, others turn to drugs, some become criminals themselves. It's extremely sad and should not be that way. These are all facts, guys. These sick fucks need to be removed from this earth immediately. And I am talking about their first offense. They WILL do it again, and they WILL eventually turn to killing their victims. Especially after they have already been to prison. Less chance of getting caught that way. And yes, knowing that they will execute them if they are convicted of molesting a child, they are more likely to kill them, but that's a chance I would be willing to risk. Because it would also mean that it simply would not happen as much as it does now. It's sick and disgusting how some of these low life fucks get less than a couple years for it, but then, in some states, you can serve 5 years easily just for having too many DUIs. Which is bad, yes, but not half as bad as the topic. So, yes, I strongly believe in the death penalty. And that will never change, but I feel as though some of the laws need to change. Such as not being able to sentence anyone to death unless there is 100% solid evidence that they are guilty. Not many innocent people are on death row, but as far as I am concerned, just one is way too many. Any thoughts on what I said? Any controversial comments? Disagree? Agree? Would love to hear any and all opinions. I dont insult people who disagree with my feelings and opinions. It's a very touchy topic, I understand. But do love a good debate 😉

Hmm.. Thats a hard one guys, but essentially i think that capital punishment is flawed, too many innocent people are put to death. That said there are some positively evil and guilty people who don't really deserve to live. However i think life in a horrible prison around people who hate you, with no chance of parole is a good punishment. So against.

I think I'd choose lethal injection over any other type of execution. its easy as you lay down and go to sleep, that sounds good to me. anyway as for the vote, I'm all for it for those that did a severe crime worthy of being put to death. also I don't see why people are on death row for ever waiting to die. just start killing those people and make room for more.( if they ever get caught up, they can put a dimmer switch on the control and make it last awhile.)

Some people are wrongly convicted and put to death only to be exonerated after the fact. Aside from the clear moral answer, no death penalty, it's more moral to have the perpetrator remain imprisoned with chances to appeal for innocence rather than to risk executing innocents "just in case"
