My brother from another mother passed almost 3 years ago now .. the only song he ever sent me was Chris’s song about friends and friendship .. when my heart hurts and I miss him I pull it up on my play list and it reminds me how much he really did care even if he wasn’t capable of saying so himself .. thank you for giving me somethin to hold onto from my brother it’s a small thing that now means so very much . Don’t ever stop performing or writing , your music touches so very many ❤

I am a huge fan of Chris Stapleton since his first album and appearance on SNL. I was thrilled to see that the few people that weren't familiar with him, pretty much broke the Internet to check him out after he sang the national anthem at the SB. Despite his brilliant talent, he struggled iniitially being a front man with a bit of stage fright. Years later, it's great to see him having fun with Jimmy Kimmel and killing it on a recent SNL skit. He is incredibly talented, but remains surprisingly humble. If you haven't, check him out!!

In other words, a man who is drawn to Jolene and fears he won't be able to resist her sultry charms but because he's a decent man at heart, he's asking her not to lure HIM away from his wife, because he knows he's powerless to resist Jolene. Would it work? I feel like Stapleton could pull it off. Has a man ever sung Jolene from the male pov?? I've always said Chris could sing anything... I would love to hear that.
