Cyndi Lauper means a lot to me. She was my daughter's FAVORITE singer, especially the "Girls just want to have fun song." My daughter was 10 yrs old at the time. Sadly my daughter passed away suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 33yrs. When I hear Cyndi Lauper sing, I close my eyes and remember the fun-fun times that I had watching my daughter dance around and pretend to sing like Cyndi. thank you Jimmy Kimmel for having Cyndi on your show this evening, enjoyed it very much.

Cyndi rocked the Johnny Carson show in her early days. A true stand out and unique star! It's good to see her doing well.

I didn’t realize it until halfway through the interview that I was smiling. I love interviews that make me smile. Cyndi was and still is so uplifting. She is the true essence of fun. 🎉

Cyndi Lauper is my favourite part of "We Are the World." She has such a brilliant catalog and deserves all the love in the world. "True Colors," "My First Night Without You," and "Who Let in the Rain" are three songs worth your time! Go, Cyndi! ❤

Loved how she would do someone else's song better than them. Roy Orbison had a wonderful voice, but Lauper's "I Drove All Night" was the best. And that time she was in Central Park and did the Beatles "Strawberry Fields Forever!"

Wear my hair the way I want, and my makeup according to how I feel that day. Be yourself unapologetically. Own your look, and walk with confidence anywhere you go. Fashion is so hilarious that people will soon be wearing your look, anyway. I'm a rocker chick, too. My hair is still down to my tail bone at 51. I'm judged for my hair being so long for my age. Do you know what I did? I grew it longer. 😂

Taking my 3 kids to the Phoenix show. I think it's important these days for them to see true talent.

She's of one kind and onde the best singers and period.

I met her at a signing about 20 years ago, she did a free show at NYC CIty Hall Park around the time she released AT LAST. I brought my entire collection and she was nice enough to sign every copy. I cherish them to this day

She is a treasure I will always look up to❣️❣️

That music video turns 39 today, June 6th 1985. BTW Cyndi hated the song. She stopped performing it for 17 years and it finally returned to her setlist in 2004 thankfully. One of her best.

@@mm369 She did and from 1987-2004 stopped performing it but has performed it ever since. I think she has changed her opinion on it. Even at shows she has had clips from the video playing onstage when she performed it. Hopefully it still remains in her farewell tour setlist.

She didn't explain (I think on purpose) why the documentary was named "Let the Canary Sing". Blue Angel's manager and contract owner sued her for big $ and the only way out for her was to declare bankruptcy; the judge granted the bankruptcy so she could move on with her career by saying ... Let the Canary Sing.

Cyndi you definitely are an icon that deserves all the respect! I used to love her look back in the day she was so cool!

Cyndi Lauper was born and died in the 80's. Madonna did success in the 80, 90 and 00's.

I agree that her voice is among the best.

I was walking around the supermarket the other day and they were playing Time After Time on the sound system~that song makes me cry every time, "... The second hand unwinds, if you're lost you can look...." Sigh!

I'm 62 and therefore fortunate enough to have witnessed Cyndi Lauper come onto the music scene and become incredibly popular. I love her music and I have a ton of respect for her and others too who felt comfortable enough or courageous enough to just be themselves.

Her mindset is everything. When you live like you're not bound by anyone's expectations, just being kind and real , it sets the tone for everything. She's really cool. I love it.

We used to go see Blue Angel at the Meadowbrook in NJ. Years later I saw her in concert and still to this day it was the absolute best concert I've ever seen. And I've been to many concerts back in the day, the Stones, Bob Marley, Bonnie Raitt etc. Her voice is amazingly powerful.

I still can't believe I'm gonna see her in September ❤ I bought the tickets to Rock in Rio before I knew she was doing a farewell tour, I just had a feeling this would be my only chance to see her perform live.

If you've never seen Cyndi live, you really need to go! She is incredible and you can really appreciate that flawless voice. I saw her 10 years ago this month with Cher and what a night!!

We Are The World is a fantastic song.Cyndi Lauper really killed her part. After she took off those damn bracelets. I think she got it on the third or 4th take. Michael was gasping on the side.

The most cringeworthy thing you can say about a woman. We don't say that about men. Why? Because the presumption is that mature woman=not attractive, and yet society claims men get more attractive with age.

Hard to believe she's 70! Her skin is incredible!

Saw her 11 years ago at the Warner Theatre in D.C. First time I saw her in concert and she was amazing!! She told stories in between her songs and it was just fabulous. When she first came out, many had their phones up, recording. She stopped singing and said, "Look; if I let you record me for this first song, would you then please put your f*cking phones away?". Everyone laughed and just as she asked, the rest of the concert, 99.9% of the people put their phones away.

I graduated in 1986! Cyndi lauper was on of my faves as a teen. We watched her on mtv all summer! This is when mtv first came out! Love her still

As a 33 year old man i can honestly say cyndi taught me one of the most important and factual lessons i will ever learn and thats simply that "girls just wanna have fun" (once i stopped thinking it was just a song and realized thats a real message my whole mind adjusted)

As a brother from dc and a performer in my own right I have always been a fan of Cyndi pauper! Such fire!!!🎉

She is amazing. She wrote the music and lyrics to the Broadway musical Kinky Boots.

Cyndi is one of my favorites. I still have my She's So Unusual album(my brother-in-law gave it to me). When I taught kindergarten our theme for graduation was True Colors(with a little word change). When I wear my "Girls Just Wanna Have Funds" shirt guys take notice and smile.

My childhood, I’m 17 but I watched you when I was a kid at a concert, we will always love you and thank you for showing your •True Colours• and allowing others to •Shine•, you are OUR world!! ❤

Cyndi was my very first concert in December 1984 - I was 12 years old and my Dad took me. It was amazing and I have a deep-rooted love of live music because of her. She's still got an amazing voice and I hope to make it to her next tour!
