Great Video as always! Lots of useful info. I’ve been using the P5 Whippet for finesse jerkbaits , other small hard baits, top water like 55mm Sammie’s, and small soft plastics. It is hands down one of my favorite rods. Ben is spot on!

I find the Tip way to soft. And sensitive ist also Not that great compared to other Highend rods

I was lucky enough to get the last rod of this from you guys, the Valley Hill Raison Odessa, ROC - 66MMH. Never thought of using it for jerkbait till this year. Super light and insensitive. I’m glad you guys had it.

First, Ben’s rod advice is superb. I’ve bought multiple rods from THUT in the last year and have been thrilled with all of them. Ronins, 110 stick, 110 special, windbusters baby plugging, fmg, bmg, X-bites, and others. All did exactly what Ben told me they would do. Second, I like the way the windbuster feels fishing standard-size jerkbaits, but, I swear to god, I get more bites fishing them on the ronin. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just got the JDM P5 110 Stick a few weeks ago in part based on watching your super informative videos.......I really can't believe how amazing the rod is. I doubt there is a more perfect jerkbait rod known to man for the 110 or below sized baits. The secondary action really wow'd me.

I’m really considering selling a couple of my combos for a destroyer spinning rod I’ve been gaining a lot of confidence in the jerkbait game thanks for your experience in throwing the vision 110 it’s a lot different than throwing the regular brands , really wish I’ve could’ve been around for your Christmas gifts , although I live in Texas love your show

Expride 610mb is a excellent rod along with the 610m legend x. Both actions are nearly identical and paired with a aldebaran you can use them all day with no fatigue. The g.loomis glx 802c 6'8" is okay for smaller baits but is a little soft in tip. Don't like it for plus 1 or 2 especially.

I know you don’t often use St. Croix but I’d love to see a LTB jerkbait rod review. I feel like they really nailed it.

I prefer my oneten special over my oneten stick when throwing a 110+1 jr. That soft tip on the special makes throwing a +1 jr so easy and I don’t feel the rod over powers it one bit. Love both rods though 🔥

I just made a 6’10” jerk bait rod out of a nfc C602 and their carbon fiber exo grip. Clear wrapped REC guides to a torzite tip. Total combo weight with line is 8.1 ounce. It feels like I’m just holding the line. So I’m going to need extra jerkbaits now😂

Just bought a wind buster yesterday with a Vanford 2500.

I´m from germany and mainly fish for perch (ours get bigger and they´re the only equivalent for bass we have here). Got the P5 Kasumi 6´11 and it´s the best I ever had for everything between the DUO Shad 57 mr to the Vision OneTen Jr. and smaller Cranks like the Jackall BlockRipper. Had to go through a bunch of different lines though to find the perfect one which is the Seaguar R18 LTD for me. Has the perfect ammount of strretch for cranks and those smaller jerkbaits. The 6lbs in combination with the Kasumi handled a 106cm (41,7in) pike that bit on a Vision OneTen Jr. with ease. Paired it with a Steez CT SV TW. Just surprised I never saw you guys talk about that rod .. or did I miss it? Great content as usual btw.

I love the Kasumi 611 for finesse cranks. One of my favorite rods.

Have the Ronin and Jerk Bait Special and love both of them. Missed out on the Cotton Wakasagi 110. Any idea when they will be restocked? Cheers 🍻

Are the rod recommendations you made here for all top water, like the 110 etc.? Or are just the rods for the heavier/larger baits for the deep diving stuff?

Maybe Raid makes their jerkbait rod a bit longer as they cater to us bank anglers who need to bomb a cast and aren't so worried about slapping the water.

WOW!...the MARK 56 as a jerkbait rod?!?!?! ahhhhhh,....i gotta get one of these boys! This thing can do EVERYTHING!!!!

Well to be clear - big jerkbait rod. It would not be good for a 110 👍🍻

I’ve had a box full of expensive jerkbaits with no rod for them until I very recently found a Levante F3-67LV. Feels like it can do it all, but maybe I could use something softer or with more bend.

Just bought the levante jerkbait special. Have yet to try seeing it’s snowing in the northeast. looking for another rod also to fish jerkbaits. How would the raid compare and also a shimano expride to the levante?

I love the Triza ageha, I’m a college student so I’m pretty limited to what I can keep in my dorm and the Triza can do it all but excels in finesse jerkbaiting for me

Can you throw a 110 on the ageha? I normally use the ronin for that but I’m looking for a rod that can break down like the ageha.

I realize these are 'best' recommendations for jerk baits, but the Megabass P5 Cyclone is a good multi use rod that carries over in my opinion. It's not as fast as maybe you'd want to but at F4 / 6'6" it plays well with 10 lb and a 110 as well as a host of smaller hard baits. Just food for thought. The Megabass line up is so sick. haha

I throw a lot of Pointer 100, Staysee 90, and Vision 110s-would you recommend the P5 110 Special?

I use the Or XX Flatside special for jerkbaits in rivers for big smallmouth. Better shock absorber on jumping agressive than on OrXX jerkbait special. I also have the 110 Special , Shimano Expride med I have no problem with a 110 jrs using aldebaron , its a true med power and catch em, also on Spinning Or XX Whipsnake

No love for the Steez 6’9 medium??

Im getting a st croix 6'6 triumph for bass and occasionally pike ive gotten decent pike on 6'6 pike but not fully in pike fishing which muskie rods are for how ever 6'6 medium fast perfect for husky jerk rapala and jerkbaits

Blade - I’m going to say no just because it’s such a small rod. Super Destroyer maybe. It bends deep through the middle of the rod, so it might stuggle

Landsat is amazing action for jerkbaits. Surprised you missed that one. Too bad the p5 reel seats are awful on spinning

Searching for a rod like Mb 6-66 ti but with different trigger. That small one pisses me off whet trying to slide from my fingers

I broke the tip off my jerk bait rod yesterday 🤦🏼‍♂️ Tried to use the tip of my rod to pop a 110 Jr. off some wood it was snagged on like a moron. So needless to say, I’m in the market for a new jerk bait rod😂

I really like the triza sparana with aldebaran bfs for the Xanax and smaller Also what arms legara would be a good jerk bait rod

It can do it, it just bends into the middle of the blank, so it wears you out a bit

Sinking in fast current. Moderate deep current - 110 FX. Moderate shallow - OSP Rudra.

Not sure if it qualify as a jerkbait rod, I'm satisfied with my megabass x7 cyclone advantages have 50

I believe there’s a Levante F3-66LV 4 piece casting rod that is stated by megabass to be good for jerkbaits. Gotta do some searching for it though.

@@treehunter1 f3-67 is a finesse jig rod unfortunately. Still searching for softer travel rod for small cranks and jerkbaits. Probably will get triza ageha next season as spinning rod this needs

I have a Lew’s Custom Lite on my 110 Stick, at 4.9oz the combo weighs practically nothing. Great drag and bombs casts!

Man that’s a bad ass reel. I’m a Shimano and Daiwa guy but the Lews reels are made by Doyo out of Korea they don’t get enough love

Another snake oil, do you have any evidence that braid create sound and fluro doesn't? Any scientific measurements? Even if it were true, can you proof this sound difference will affect fish?
