    Had this rod for the first few months of this season until I sold it. Definitely a very crisp rod as you said, but me being on the shorter side (5'7) I noticed I was tip smacking the water at some points. I ended up going with the 6'6 medium fast expride with a metanium DC. Best decision I made. Im up in northern Ontario and my 110 jerkbaits have been killers with 30+ inch pike and fat bass. Just a recommendation for anyone having short people issues like me lol. Great video as always!

    Great review sir! I actually looked at this and the Poison Adrena 6'11" Med+ and went with the Adrena, though not because I liked the 110 Special Less. I think you hit it on the head when you said that it was a great rod for jerkbaits and it may be a better jerkbait rod than the Adrena, but if so not by much, and it is really aesthetically pleasing for sure. But when it came down to it for me I loved the light weight feel of the Adrena and the great sensitivity just added to it's versatility. You can do a lot with it and it does a great job throwing larger jerkbaits. Frankly, one of my favorite rods is the Ronin for the 110's and smaller jerkbaits. Really prefer the shorter spinning rod for that technique and the Ronin is very versatile as well. Great for fluke style fishing and skipping baits under cover. Thanks for another great review Brian!

    Has the expride b 610m, thinking about add one more jerkbait/topwater rod into my arsenal. Had a nice deal on posion Adrena 611m+, do you think it’s a better choice over full price oneten special? I’m a huge posion and megabass fan, had a 73mh but it snaps when I cast😂, so a little bit worried about that

    Another great review. I didn’t know you had this rod because I didn’t see it in your 2020 Arsenal. When I was looking for a jerkbait rod it was between this and the expride. I chose the expride because of TacticalBassin raving about how great it was. I recently got the 6-11 Adrena and it’s great at deeper diving jerkbaits and shallow to medium crankbaits. As always love the reviews and keep on doing them.

    I'm not gonna lie i'm only a 'casual' cranker. It's not a primary technique of mine so my insight on cranking rods won't be great. I basically have rods that can do other things AND crank vs fully dedicated cranking sticks. We have so much grass in our MN natural lakes it's tough to deep crank.

    Damn Brian great review! Totally agree with your perspective. I own it and fished it hard for 2 seasons and I like it and find it fairly versatile but I really prefer the new P5 one ten stick F4 65. Amazing snappy tip and the parabolic bend literally goes to the locknut. It’s now my go to jerk bait and dock skipping weapon. Also loved the X- bite review, you got me thinking about that now too! Good review. But the legend jerkbait rod is a 6'8" and there are tip heavy rods in the ltb line for sure this one is not bad. I have a chronarch mgl on mine and the balance point is directly in front on the cork finger tight against it. And rod loads back to the 7th guide. Might be the best rod in the ltb line.

  • @PunchFishing

    @PunchFishing

    It definitely was one of the least-worst rods in the LTB line. It was the one I kept the longest until I got the OneTen Special. My biggest complaint with the Legend Tournament Bass jerkbait rod was it's lack of good casting distance. I couldn't really launch a regular 110 very far on that rod.

    Do you need a 400$ rod? YES as a Tool or dedicated rod. It’s made for that purpose. Time is precious, your bait needs a nice action.😑 YES as Job/Task. You’re probably fishing several hours, can you keep your mind with fishing or Shoulder-Arm-Wrist pain😞 YES as a bright Diamond. Hell yes as long as you worked for every $ (or €) and you like fishing. Get your self a rod that looks, feels and even Smells FISHING!!! These rods cost 500€ (msrp), coupled with a 300-500€ reel. 800€ this combo,..........Some people don’t spend that much money for their entire range Rod-Reel-Baits-Tools-Permit in the next 5 years.🙂 YES YES YES....after I’ve seen this episode in which you address all the specs of this 110 SP. I currently jerk the LegendX 6.10 and i hope that some day I’ve got a MB-rod to compare. But my local tackle-shop is flat out of MB destroyers, maybe i can convince him order some P5s (he better does or else i set his store on fire) 😬 There is only one NO and that’s my bank account. So many 500€ rods, So many empty compartments on my Shimano rod rack and So many GOOD Reviews on Punch Fishing, Tactical Bassin’ and other Channels. I have to manage my time Fishing/ Educate myself/ Relaxation and Working. 😅 Catch a big one for me 😎👍

    Okay, so I have both the Expride and the Oneten Special in hand now. I would say they are different rods from a power perspective. There really isn’t any difference in weight, Expride is 111g and the Oneten 120g. The latter is an inch longer. One thing I believe to be an advantage is the short handle, this will fish like an even longer rod too. Key difference for me is the power as I said with the Expride being Medium and I would say the Oneten nearly a whole power more. Hey, I’ve caught a Musky on the Expride but to me, the action imparted when jerking felt to overwhelm the Expride. The Oneten looks to suit me perfectly due to the extra power. Will report back further when I’ve been on the water

    Good review but I think you miss the point on why people love this rod so much. It's not just that it's a fantasic jerkbait/squarebill rod, it's also performs amazing with darksleepers, finesse jigs, dropshots, shakeyheads, tokyo rigs.. Pretty much any application within the lure rating. If I show up to the lake and the is too dirty for a jerkbait I can use this rod for any presentation I listed above. As fantasic a jerkbait rod it is, I actually prefer rods with a true fast taper and a longer handle so I can get more leverage while casting. I prefer my gen 1 xx flatside special at time for jerkbaiting. I urge you to try other techniques with this rod and tell me it's just a 400 dollar jerkbait rod. The balance point is on a little lower portion of the handle so lighter reels will balance out on it better on the rod, I personally use a Core 100.

    Do you have any recommendations for a rod to throw mainly soft plastics? Looking at mainly weightless Texas rigs, 5-6" senkos, creature baits etc, nothing super small or large. Would the 6-10" m expride be a good choice? Or also more of a jerk bait rod? Would the 7-2 ml expride be a little too weak? Or do you have any rods that come to mind in this price point? Something that would load up decently on cast to make throwing the weightless stuff easier and more accurate.

    I have the expride 6'10 med for my jerkbaits and caught some big bass and love it. It's crisp firm tip still parabolic enough. Would work for light jig worm shallow water but weightless plastics would not get good distance cause of length . 7'2 ml would be easier to cast cause light and longer rod for weightless plastic. I use a Loomis GLX 853C for weightless senko or 1/4 -1/2 oz t rigs and 844 mbr for the jigs and love it but higher price point. Weightless light small plastics I use expride 7" med spinning rod, its a little stiff but works.

    Everybody just loves this rod. I don’t think it is light in weight at all. I do think it is well balanced, casts great, and is stiff enough to really work a jerkbait. My problem with it is that I loose a lot of fish on this rod. I’ve gone back to my Kistler H3 for Jerkbaits for this very reason. I seem to be the only one that has this problem with the rod.

    I’ve tried it all. I used to use braid to Fluoro leader but after loosing quite a few fish I tried straight fluoro to get more stretch. Still loosing fish. I think the rod is way to stiff for jerkbaits. I also have the 6’ 10” expride. I have no problem keeping fish pinned on that rod. I don’t like how long the expride handle is. I’d agree the 110 special has a parabolic bend but it takes a lot of weight to get that bend. I think it is a power to heavy for me. Your thoughts?

    @@juliusjames5577 I use a Dobyns 706CB for my jerkbait rod. For me its ideal because I really snap the shit out of the vision 110. That heavier action and longer bend in the rod, really helps make that bait dart with hard/fast jerks. I may be the odd man out on jerkbait fishing with rods, but honestly I have a lot of high end rods and several that fall in the jerkbait area, and the 706 is definitely my go to.

    I use my Helium3s for almost everything and caught a ton of smallies this spring using the 6'9MHXF (from 2019). Which model are you using? I felt like I had to work the rod a bit harder than I should, and my wrist was pretty sore after 3 days in a row of 6 hours of almost nonstop jerkbaiting, but I figure almost any rod would do that... lol. I did find that I lost basically no fish and kept them pinned nicely. I was using 15lb Tatsu because the lake I was fishing in has northern pike and I wanted a little more insurance against them just in case. The Helium3 line is so underappreciated and I think if people gave Kistler a shot they would find that their blanks are awesome. I love fishing with them.
