Chocolate Drizzled Italian Anisette Toast!

This is a very light dessert and a delicious accompaniment to a hot beverage break! The first day of baking, the outside of this toast will be crunchy, but the inside is softer and takes on the texture of sponge cake. If this is what you like, I highly suggest you serve and consume it within 24 hours. With each passing day, the inside will become very much like a dry toast and very crunchy on the inside too. You have your options. You can easily modify this recipe's flavor by replacing the anisette extract with lemon, orange, or vanilla extract. The flavor of this toast is a very light hint, but if you want it stronger, you can add an extra 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon of extract to taste. If you’re looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth with just one cookie (or maybe two), this will do the trick! Recipe is below. Peace Love And Tasty Eats!
Recipe:
Chocolate Drizzled Italian Anisette Toast
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon anise extract or ground anise seed
Yields: 2 dozen biscotti - you can easily cut this recipe in half for 1 dozen biscotti
