I bought a Triumph Herald in Leatherhead once, about 1993 it was. It was cherry red, a 1971 13/60 model, and it had an air filter that looked like an oil filter, but after a service, it drove well and I kept it for several years! Now, that’s all about as interesting as the twaddle you two were chuntering on about, but it’s true, every word! If I remember correctly, the Rego was RDL 358J.

Wonderful! This is as daft as a conversation with Daevid Allen and Gong!!! Deserted, pointless roadworks are all over the country. We've had them on almost every main road, and many small ones, in Calderdale (West Yorkshire) for several years now. On a brighter note, this has been by far the nicest way of wasting 20 minutes that I've ever had. thank you.

I used to play Cricket as a boy against Milton Keynes which was a small place then. I played for Old Bletchley Cricket Club. I was brought up in Bletchley where my parents bought a house after my dad retired from DWS after the war. He was a Radio Engineer at Bletchley Park.

I came through Leatherhead in December, for the first time ever....What a dump, the only redeeming feature l saw was Oxshot, but it was a tiny high street, lit for Christmas within the trees. A well to do couple used to visit Swanage at weekends and stay in their second home, within the block l lived in. It was only then, in December l finally realised why people travel from Leatherhead to Swanage, and not vice- versa.😉

Very true about three way roundabouts! People are giving way to traffic coming from the right, but they in turn are doing the same and so forth and they're stuck in a loop of hand waving and confusion. 😅

A concrete cow is the result of a cemented relationship,I just made that one up.

Dorking always has a slow crawl right up to the chicken roundabout, you should have walked round the lovely antique shops in the high street and had a rummage. We were in Devon last year and every diversion lead you round and round the tall hedge narrow lanes while they were tarmaccing various potholes in! Not much has changed in 20 years. Charlies Farm is our local shop, its great! One day you will have to walk the public footpath up Bury Hill which you can find on the West Burton Road, a cup of tea from your thermos at the top is worth the climb! Also the walk to the bench in Arundel Park. Are you both going to be doing any walk/village exploration vlogs in 2024 like you used to do. I do miss those off the hoof meanders. Xx

That sounds like Devon 😂 Hi from the deepest darkest depths of South Devon, where the sun always shines! We have road closed signs left too when the road.. isn't. Locals tend to ignore these signs now and just take the chance. You win some you lose some. I've seen, literally 5 minutes from here, a fork in the road and two diversion signs between them - one of each pointing ➡⬅

About 15 miles to the east of Dorking on the A25 is Godstone farm shop ,well worth a visit.

Some little dickie bird advised me that the east coast road system is being upgraded and re-enforced to carry tanks and heavy military traffic to the North Sea ferry Ports...its all a bit hush hush though - but I did happen to notice the incredible thickness of the new concrete slabs being laid in the closed lane as I trundled along in the eternal traffic chaos ....

Sorry guys, I get paid a right old wedge to put cones and traffic lights up for no reason (its just in case they might want to do a job). I went on a 2 week residential course to be taught how to do it at a Warner Hotel. (Signing, Lighting and Guarding) Jools Holland and his Big Band was one of the nights turns. Snooker tables, Archery. Steak and Chips. I liked the look of that Rum, Bum and Concertina Cookie.

you can drive to Milton Keynes via the countryside as did one of Karen's Freedom event. And I live off the Steyne St. Roman road. I lived in Christs Hospital at the old houses by railway station for the longest period since leaving London in 2000. Walked everyday at the woodlands there onto the Arun river.

It's the same here in Norwich. Roads closed, two sections of the inner ring road closed causing maximum chaos. It's all planned, as we know.
