I added a coil to preheat my waste oil and found that it helped even with diesel . But be ware that the nylon fuel tube upgrade won’t take the heat .
Жүктеу.....

love how you don't give up on the WMO yet

Hey, that's not failure, that's testing! Trial & error. Don't give up. Maybe you need to have a wider coil to keep it from becoming too hot. Be careful but continue your testing! Cheers :)

Thank you , won’t stop testing . I’m doing research on flash point . Open air and unopened to air see if that matters . The oil mixture I’m not too concerned.

Forget silicon, gas/diesel/oil will degrade it over time into the fuel. Look to high temp rubber or hard lines for your experiment.

Even silicone hose would be doubtful in such heat. Maybe only hard metal line is the only choice? Eberspacher is the German company you were trying to recall, Espar is their more common name, for simplicity

Winding the copper tube around a piece of metal tubing will provide a neat coil.

Biodiesel is made by adding methanol to veg oil, works good enough to run diesel vehicles, look it up, might be worth adding to waste oil, don't know, but It''s a simple process to make biodiesel if you can acquire used veg oil..The biodiesel works awesome, basically free...I used six 8 inch cast iron pipes and eight elbows for my exhaust to go back and forth, vertically down to the ground and exhaust through the wall outside..Acts like a radiator and throws a bunch of heat, so I capture exhaust heat.. Use it to dry gloves shoes, etc.You can buy the Wabasto fuel line on Amazon for 19 dollars..

I may be wrong but it looks like your pump is up side down

I was planning to something similar without preheat so be interested to see how you get on. 😀 how about running the line through the hot air path instead ? Might not be as fierce....

Off topic, but shouldn't the pump have the power in side facing up at a 45 degree or has that been disproved? Something to do with keeping the plunger lubed. I would imagine as short of lines you are using, lubicration should not be an issue, but am curious cause I am using mine with power side (fuel to heater side) upwards with very little line as well based on what John and David Mc. suggested.

I think the issue is aeration in the pump. That was what I got from John video. Also I have had many comments that people had pump issues when not following this advice. But good point I also believed it should be upwards . I may have gotten that upside down lol . Especially when it’s gravity fed from tank .

Since most pumps don't have a seal where the plunger is, I do wonder if pointed incorrectly if it could gravity feed a tiny bit while the heater is off, assuming the fuel tank and pump are higher than the heater is and may cause start up problems and build up in the chamber while trying to start the heater. Probably never gonna be an issue if primed and used often. Just shooting spit balls around is all.

Like you used some of the spare metal pipe to replace that short nylon section.

Sorry thought it was the same stuff you used for the coil, didn’t realise it was black silicone

You only need to preheated to 60c put less coper around pipe
