    Sure let’s just put a defective seatbelt back in the car after cutting it up. When your face meets the steering wheel you can think of this video. Seatbelt made to save lives. Obviously this shop sells damaged vehicles back in service. Would be better to get a working seatbelt instead. That be a lawsuit here in the States.

    Always wondered how to get my flat-tip into a tight spot, hit it with a 1/2" extension! Seriously?? Are you really modifying the seat belt retractor AND LOCKING MECHANISM?!! You know - the mechanism that keeps your face off the steering wheel!

    What are the panels you’re removing to get the seatbelt called? The one on the lower part and the one that covers the seatbelt.

    What tool did you use to pop open to get inside? I'm trying to get rid of a cigarette smell and it's inside the seat belt compartment

    Good way to get people hurt. Might as well take the seatbelts out of the vehicle. The pre-tensioners are not there for looks.

    I applied OTC Pharma grade mineral oil to the ratchet on my 2001 Silverado SWB ~ I learned to use mineral oil in place of common sprays for reasons of geriatric health - my issue is prompt extension to latch so as to achieve latching so that I can drive • it appears from what i see on the video that them anchor is lower than what I thought • goal is to get it service-able without destroying cosmetic covers which I can tape with gaffer tape - 320-k miles lifetime shade tree ○ brief testing shows a ratchet on the pulley may be the problem; Advise if I should look for the actual anchor please;

    The fact that pulls out and retracts does not mean it will lock up and restrain you in the event of a crash. This is not a repair !!!

    Awesome video! I'll be having to do this soon. The replacement on the 2011 silverado is nearly $200 and all "used" ones are locked due to accidents. Need a quick fix like this since I can't afford a new one and local police are giving huge fines for not being bucked up.

  • @Rougarou2023

    No, it will not restrain you, and in the event of a crash you will eat the deploying airbag as if you are at a chinese buffett on fresh shrimp day! The air bag will not only blacken both eyes, it will break and bloody your nose and possibly scratch your eyes out. The pretensioner "locks: the seatbelt so this trauma does not happen. This guy is advocating convenience over safety. Spend the $68-100 to save your face.
