So what happens when you pull hard on it? my guess is that since you removed the piece that locks the wheel, if you happen to crash again then the belt won't make any difference at all. Could you confirm?

Rodrigo Pinto if you pull hard on it then it will be locked like a original seat belt only difference is the belt airbag sensor is not working because it’s working for one time otherwise all is well 👍😊 check 2:11 in this video that piece locks the wheel. Thanks for your support also don’t forget to subscribe my channel ✌️

How can I physically test a seat belt, besides hooking up a scanner to check SRS which is the best way? Can I fasten it with me sitting, and just pull it really hard outward to see if it locks you in seat?

this is a quick fix to get your seatbelt working however, it will now show the airbag light on the dash. you cannot clear this error from the ecu as the circuit is still open at the plug which he left loose. so thats an MOT fail right there

It's not a good solution better option is to replace the assembly other wise the seat belt will not lock in accident and the air bag will not work properly. By this method Seat belt force limiter and pretensoner will be useless

YOU CAN BUY USED OR NEW SEAT BELT RETRACTOR/PRETENSIONER AND YOU WILL HAVE A FUNCTIONAL SEAT BELT IN LESS TIME THAN THIS. THE PURPOSE OF THIS VIDEO IS TO ELIMINATE THE ONLY FUNCTIONALITY OF A SEATBELT. THERE IS NO SENSE IN EVEN USING THE SEAT BELT IF IT DOES NOT HAVE A PRETENSIONER. I CAN'T BELIEVE I JUST WATCHED A VIDEO OF HOW TO DISABLE A SAFETY FEATURE. HE MAY AS WELL HAVE JUST TAKEN A PAIR OF SCISSORS TO IT. LIKE WHY HAVE A UNFUNCTIONAL SEAT BELT? EXCELLENT CONDITION USED ONES GO FOR $40 A PAIR ON EBAY.

I can only appreciate your intention to fix your car but after crash seatbelts must never be a DIY project. The tube you cut off is a pretensioning system that saves your life in a crash, so please get any systems (seatbelts or airbags) that are deployed in a crash event replaced at a certified dealer. If you wonder why do I care? I’m a seat belt engineer.

Is this pretensioner part available to buy separately ? my car's air bag light suddenly came on without any collision and when I scanned it shows the pretensioner is faulty. so I have to replace the entire seat belt if a replacement pretensioner is not available, which is somewhat costly.

Accident today 6/4/19 2017 Silverdo 2500 While getting out of my truck which was struck from behind I notices smoke around the door pillar post near the floor. Had water to put out smoldering. Later found out this by design. GM installed a exploding device to tighten your seat belt pretensioners during a accident. My wife is at medicenter right now from chest and shoulder pain. Not sure about this video fix? Part was cut off and not replaced. I'm going to contact GM.

The part the guy cut off is the pretensioner. This isn’t a fix, its disabling a safety device to make the belt retract.

This is how to destroy the safety system your car comes with . Tampering with SRS systems without any professional knowledge is illegal . Think about the customer who will buy this car from you . You could get them killed .the SRS airbag light will stay ON , what are you doing to turn it off ?remove the bulb and throw it away ? The proper way to solve SRS components after depolyment is to either get them replaced with OEM ones or send them to a company that is licensed to rebuild them up to safety standards .

This is more of a jimmy rig or mickey mouse not a Repair. Repair means restored to proper working order and function. Youre eliminating the SRS function in the belt mechanism rendering it inoperable and non functioning. If you're doing this to a personal vehicle then great, if a shop is doing this to customer vehicles and calling it a "repair" that is fraud and leaves a lot of liability if the customer ia ever in an accident
