Suggestion: YinYang chess: The first move is allowed to be played on a square of any color, but the next move has to be the other color. If you are in a position of a forced move on to a square of the same color as the previous move, you lose. Example: If your first move is pawn to e4, you moved to a white square, meaning your next move must be to a black square. After that your next move has to be to a white square. You have to repeat the pattern until the end of the game

Suggestion: Cannonball chess Every two moves, Martin fires a cannon at a random square and if your piece is on that square it dies. But Martin's pieces have put on cannonball-proof armor so the cannonballs don't do anything to them. Good luck!

I had something similar to this that we called 'death trap chess'. At the beginning, each person writes one square (not occupied by an opponent's piece) on a strip of paper and is passed to a mediator (to keep both players honest). This square will have a death trap which your pieces are immune to. If an opponent's piece moves to your death trap, it triggers, removing that piece from play. This wouldn't really work against a bot because you don't know where your opponent's trap is until one of your pieces walks onto it.

I love how Martin was moving better than the Nelson bot in the opening. I’m convinced if he tried doing the last challenge with Martin he would’ve failed.

Scratch that, the entire game

In the last round, you made that a lot harder than it needed to be by marking the squares when a piece arrives rather than as it leaves. The difference is that a captured piece doesn't leave the square, so you can still recapture.

@@user-uj2mt6nv2g the point would be that the square was never unoccupied. If the square isn’t empty then it wouldn’t crack. Think of if a pressure plate was activated. Another person can step on it and shove you off and the plate would still be pressed. Either way he won with a harder rule set which was even more entertaining.

@@thomasbuck303 Yes it was, but he got lucky though. Against a human, he would stand no chance with the harder rule he imposed. Using that rule, any intelligent human with a rudimentary knowledge of the game could beat even Magnus Carlson as soon as he/she realized that any piece that has been moved can be taken with impunity.

Chess but whatever piece they move you have to move also and if you can't move, they get an extra queen.

next you cant check martin unless its checkmate you cant got out of check if it creates an discovered check this is gonna be easy on martin tho

Variation of pitfall chess - Vanishing Pieces. You move a pawn or piece it would disappear i.e. you need to take it off the board. However, for every piece you capture with your pawn you get the same piece on your side in whatever position you need it except it can't come with a check to the opponent king

I have an idea: Hard Chess Hard chess is where Martin has 2 lives on all pieces including the king. Martin also has Atomic pawns from the Game mode Atomic. Martin also have a Amazon instead of a Queen. Martin also have slime pawns and the pitfall idea. Whenever Martin moves the king it becomes invulnerable for 2 moves.

Medium difficulty: chess but you can't use pieces on the Queen's half of the board, and you can't move anything to that side of the board. Easy difficulty: pawns can't capture.

Only move once is almost impossible. How are you going to even reach the opponent's king? Unless it's a fools mate I don't see that working.

i love how u always have so many ideas that are creative we all love it maybe next time try and beat martin but u can only move your queen and the pawn that enables it to move. keep it up man

Not sure if you've already played this or if it would even work against a bot, because the bot would probably work with you instead of against you, but reverse chess. You win when your own king is checkmate. Other rules still apply so you still can't move your king into a check and you have to move it out of a check or block the check if possible.

Awesome xd Can u play my favorite chess? "When u can take a piece, u have to take it!" Obviously if youre endangering multiple pieces u can chose which ever u take but u still have to take the other ones in next moves. We usually played this gamemode with friends where it applies to both sides but i feel like playing against martin it would be funnier.

Chess against TWO Martins but your army is SPLIT between the two boards So when you put the two boards over each other you should see the original chess army. You can put the pieces on any board but on the same square. Only the king appears on both boards (in the original position).

Chess, but when you capture something. Your pieces and your pieces which nearby it will be destroyed too!

One modification to this ruleset- Different piece weights. A pawn would be the lightest and the queen the heaviest, with 'normal' pieces being in between. So a pawn getting off of a uncracked space would turn it slightly cracked, or yellow, and getting off of a slightly cracked 'yellow' space would turn it very cracked, or orange, and finally, off of an orange space would cause the tile to completely collapse. A piece like a rook, knight, or bishop would get turn an uncracked space orange, and yellow and orange spaces red. The queen, would immediately cause the floor to collapse wherever she lands, turning completely uncracked spaces red. Another rule is wherever the queen walks across, the floor would crack. (So, like, if the queen were to go from d1 to d8, everything between d2 and d7 would be yellow, or maybe even orange.) Add this rule to rooks and bishops for even more chaos. Additionally, pieces perhaps *can* go onto pits, to potentially take back or capture a piece, they just... fall to their death in the process. Dragging the piece that you captured or recaptured down with it, of course, but you immediately lose the piece you took with.

Do this challenge chess but if Martin takes a piece every copy of that piece gets removed also Martin gets one pawn for every destroyed piece

I got another idea - Chess but there are cars aside the board and if ur piece land on Martin territory and there is a car the car kill the pawn and the car get disappeared and get a car tracker too where u will yellow the square h8,h7,h6,h5 and if the car get activated remove the piece which is recently moved on that rank and then remove the yellow square which activated on the rank and yeah mattin dose not affect the challenge. Pls try! Challenge Name Car chess.

Broo you've got to try dice chess against Martin: Rules are simple , you have 3 dice with chess pieces drawn on them ,you role all three and you can only move the piece that you get in the dice (3 dice because you have more flexiblity), if none of the pieces could be moved, you can roll again ...castling is only allowed when kind and rook both are rolled

If a square is removed, Martin can still go there with his hover boots, right? And now, can you still take that piece? And lose your piece down the hole in the process? Will continue to watch.

Instant pitfall but with recaptures: a square turns red when you step off it, but if captured, you can immediately recapture before it turns red. If recapture isn't immediate, that square is done.

could do many variants like on 2nd move to square, u can only keep it one move b4 it falls. Or just have it only allowed one move. So many different possibilities

Hard mode: your opponent also makes moves that turn square yellow/red. If your opponent’s piece lands on a red square, you lose

Hereby I want to introduce a new idea to make it more difficult against Martin: I would call it upgrade chess while the rules are explained in the following. After each of your turns you have to upgrade any of his pieces like following: A pawn (1) is substituted by a bishop or knight (3) A bishop or knight (3) should be replaced by a rook (5) And finally, a queen (9) can be an upgrade of a rook (5) If you aren’t able to upgrade, you just add another pawn anywhere on the board. You can also reduce the difficulty by applying the aforementioned rules only every 2 or 3 moves

Idea to try: Chess, but the four center squares are not available to you. If your opponent forces you to move anything there, you loose. You can't say check through those squares. R to e1 would be illegal to say check to K on e8.

Maybe you should have it so that if you _leave_ a square, it becomes used. That way if one of your pieces gets captured, you can still capture it back.

Chess but the enemies pieces have the zombie virus and anything next to them gets turned into a zombie aka becomes the opponents piece the next turn. So if the opponent moves a piece next to ur piece u can either take it or run away to avoid the virus but if u move ur piece next to a piece (unless he moves his piece out of the way) your piece gets the zombie virus next turn.

What about mutual pitfall chess where the yellow red system applies for both sides? If a square has been hit twice by any player it goes red. With slime crack rules where spaces pieces have traveled count as contributing to cracking or breaking of squares.

That would mean reprogramming the bot, which Nelson can't do...

A variation which may make it a little easier: a square becomes unavailable if you land on it, then leave it. That would mean you'd still be able to retake, as the square does not become unavailable when the piece is captured.

Wouldn't 11:07 be checkmate if black doesnt defend? If the bishop moves to f4 then the queen can mate by moving to e8 right? I mean that can only happen if black does nothing about it

Don’t know if you’ve done this but Chess but it’s a soul link: if you lose one rook you lose both and losing 1 pawn loses 2 pawns not all of them, losing your queen is an automatic checkmate since it’s linked to the king

Chess 2.0, with 4 new rules: 1) pieces (i.e. everything but a pawn) can stack, maximum two per square, if another piece 'captures' that square they choose which piece to replace, leaving one each of opposing pieces on the same square; pawns can't stack on top of or be stacked on top of, if a pawn captures a square with more than one opposing piece it takes both; a maximum of two pieces can occupy a square at any one time. 2) pawns can move backwards, capturing diagonally, including en passant, but they can't move two squares back to their starting rank, and they can't move backwards to prevent or block check in any way. 3) pawns can promote to a second king - once you have more than one king, in order to win the game your opponent must take either of your kings and then checkmate the remaining one. 4) vertical castling allowed.

Random ideas: - Chess against Martin but you have to blunder mate in one at one point in the game (it is possible to win against Martin doing this). - Chess against Martin but you can only move a king and 2 knights. - Chess against Martin but you have to capture a piece where possible. - Chess against Martin but you can only move pieces to light squares. - Chess against Martin but you cannot move your queen or capture any pieces.

10:00 Bg5 is obviously the best move because Nelson might just straight up blunder mate in one. Also, if he block with queen, an queen trade before castling is also something who WILL give to Nelson some problem. And finally, you can play Rg3 at the limit. Please notice that I put this comment BEFORE knowing which move you played.

Castling doesn't work- should this be fixed? P.S. Big fan, Nelson! I love the challenge ideas, they add a whole other level to chess

@@AbiGail-ok7fc You're going to have to change the way you play. Usually, you would push central pawns and develop knights before bishops. Not in this case-

Suggestion: armour chess So how it works is that every time Martin moves a piece, the piece gets armour. When one of martin’s pieces get armour the piece cannot be taken. But when Martin moves another piece the other piece that he moved last turn has no armour. For example:if Martin moves his knight, the knight gets armour. After Martin moves something else let’s say he wants to fianchetto then the knight has no armour But on martin’s 2nd turn if he still moves his knight it still has armour

Atomic chess. Both players have chosen a single piece that becomes an atomic bomb. The atomic part is hidden from the opponent, it moves into place and when the player decides to detonate the atomic piece it becomes clear of that bomb. But be careful because your opponent can blow up your king with it.

The concept is really good. Imagine endgame where you should to stay alive as long as possible or you will be forced to push your king into a pit and lose.

This, against Martin, but the board stays the same (the cracks and pitfalls), how many times can you beat it?

I'm not sure what this would be called, but here's how it works. After a move from each of you, Martin launches a chemistry beaker loaded with mind control serum at a random square. If one of your pieces is on the designated square, it has been mind controlled and defects to Martin's side. Naturally, your king is immune. Best of luck.

Here is an idea: Ticking Chess! Play vs Martin, but each X moves your pieces lose 1 rank. (X is set by your liking for difficulty) So you start a game, if X moves passes all your pieces lose 1 rank, for example: Queen>Rook>Knight/Bishop(free choice to which can be transformed, if you got 2 rooks to unrank then you may as well turn 1 into bishop and the 2nd one to knight at same time and so on)>Pawn On move X+1 you resume with weaker pieces. King and pawns cannot lose a rank. Promoted pawns have individual counters.

Try normal pitfall again but include the bots moves as well

Chess, but if you move a piece, you can't move another piece like that one until you move something else. I.E. you move a pawn, now you must move a non pawn piece. No exceptions.

You should have took the pawn put him in check and then proceeded to take his rook then knight then pawn and worked your way out.
