Hey! I just want to thank you a lot! I just bought used 2011 pilot 2 weeks ago and My battery went dead for some reason. I called CAA and he jump started it. Right after he left I drove my car for 2 mins and "check emission light" came on along with engine light and vtm-4. I was so panicked and went through KZread and found your video. I did what you exactly said and it's gone. You saved my lot of $$ and time. Thanks again!

I have a 2010. I installed a vcm tuner to disable the variable cylinder management. It drives much smoother without all the switching to 3 cylinders under light loads. Saves the engine mounts, burns less oil, less sparkplug fouling and less carbon buildup.

Do you have to enter a code to get the radio to work? Or maybe that’s only if both terminals are disconnected as in a battery replacement.

yes you'll need a code to get the radio on and you can also bypass the code by pressing the radio power and hold on to it for few seconds please reply me if it works

depending on the way engine triggers the light sometimes it may remain off for several months

yes it may come back on if something else was wrong

What's the point of turning the CEL off though? The problem is still there. If you try to do this to pass the emissions test, you'll still fail if the light is off, because the computer will say it hasn't completed test cycles since the reset.
