Had no idea the French can trash-talk so well. Writers would be so lucky to match what these guys improvise on the spot.

The kitchen is really lovely even at this stage. I can’t wait to see the finished version. What a stoke of luck meeting Benoit right at the beginning of your journey. I’m sure there are plenty of chateau owners who wish they had a talented carpenter as a friend. Have a good week!

Benoit's skill and craftsmanship is a pleasure to behold

All the muted colors are stunning, calm and gorgeous and Ziggy goes so well with them.

I love Anna's smile at the end. Sometimes when designing a space and choosing materials, we're not always happy with the choices we made once we see them in person. I'm so glad you're pleased with how it's all coming together.

Benoit is a very talented carpenter and the humor between him and Phillip always crack me up. Plus you can tell he is a beautiful soul as he didn’t want Ziggy in a dog house. Love the colors of the kitchen and the countertops. Can’t wait to see the finished kitchen as I am sure you are as well. Thanks for sharing 😍😘

Just love watching all of them....all their puns to each other and although it’s lots of work...they enjoy being around everyone. Too much fun not to watch 😂

I love Benoit’s sense if humour and his indefatigable ability to put up with “influencer” Philip… a saint in fact and his carpentry sensational. What a find and true treasure he is.The chateau deserves him and will be much tge better for his truly artisan contribution to the renovation.

The more I watch Phillip, the more I realize how likable and sweet Anna is.

I’m glad that you and Benoit found each other, I’m sure many of us would love to have a tradie/friend with his knowledge, reliability and humour. Your new kitchen is looking great.

It's so nice that you can be able to film Benoit working, because you'll always known the owner of those kind of building but never the "artisan" that put his skills on the wall or the floor of the house. Ce sont des souvenir à chérir :)

You guys, this episode was off-the-charts lovely. That Benoît of yours, he is a true treasure to behold - both as a human being and an amazing craftsman! His woodworking skills are phenomenal (that crown molding corner by the window, wow), his sense of humor - stellar. And the worktops, the colors, and those colors with the brass door handles, man, elegant, subtle, just right for that château. My heart is singing for you guys in happiness.

Re: Cable cupboard would have been a perfect time for Benoit to exact revenge for all the times you entrapped Nathan! 😉

You are fortunate to have such a talented woodworker in Benoit! He is quite the perfectionist.

@@arnicepernice8656 The working in Lalande is different but perfect too. But what i don't like so much in Lalande is, that very few people are or speak french. In a french country side it sounds very strange for me (how do they find so many englisch carpenters and so one, and why do the specifically search for them ?) I like the english-french-german-mix here.

A placard saying ‘kitchen by Anna, Phillip and Benoit’ should be somewhere eventually in the kitchen. Amazing job everyone is doing

Despite all of your banter with Benoit, we know you love him and my goodness you couldn’t have met a nicer, more talented man. His carpentry is beautiful. I think you owe Ziggy some extra treats and hugs after letting him take the blame. But we know you do it all for fun and humor and this is why I love watching your channel. Benoit is such a master craftsman - you just don't see that very often these days - everything is a flat pack! Love his work.

I watched this in our renovated kitchen while my husband and son did a KiwiCo box together in the other room. It’s like a crossover episode to my life. They truly are the best kid activities!

3 of my grandkids get the Kiwi boxes monthly and love them.

SO good!! Every element just sits side by side in harmony!! I love the whole kitchen. HUGE congratulations on all of the progress shown on this week's vlog. Thank you for showing the part where the mantle is being rebuilt. I have been so curious about how that would be altered and enjoyed every second that you shared of Benoit's work on it. Also, huge appreciation being sent to Benoit over his craftsmanship. What a pleasure to watch his skill in making this beautiful kitchen and huge props to Anna and Charlie for all of their laborious and detailed painting and Phillip for his amazing electrical and plumbing work!! Love when Benoir is in the vlogs. He provided such good banter with Philipp, they are really funny together. I haven’t heard of the show, The Chuckle Brothers, but it seems like an apropos name for them. Anna, you are doing a wonderful job with all the painting, the colors are truly rich and beautiful and your choice of counter materials is spot on. It’s all coming together perfectly. Can’t wait to see you enjoying that glass of wine while Philipp is coming for you 😀

Your kitchen is tranquil and neutral. Very calming.

Benoit is exceptional, and he puts up with you, as does Anna. Amazing workmanship!

When you finish the kitchen, you need to find another project for Benoir. You can't let him leave. Maybe one or both of the long house outbuildings. Along with Phillip, the two make up a hilarious comedy duo much like Frick & Frack, they keep you in stiches.

the dynamic between Philip and Benoit the carpenter is so funny. Love the KiwiCo page, they have pretty hands on tools. The kitchen is coming along just fine!! Good job!!

Such a happy moment! Firstly, Anna slips yet again admitting it is a GREEN GREY (she however inverted the order to get your eyes off the truth it is indeed GREEN). Then hearing Philipp call Benoit elderly when clearly no elderly craftsman would stand on the top hand rail of a ladder, with perfect balance and no hesitation at all! That is reserved primarily for those agile like a cat. (NOT ELDERLY). Incorporating that corbel melding old with new, be still MY HEART. And lastly Ziggy winking to Philipp as the crafting caper open box fiasco explanation was accepted. ~ Congrats you two on your progress and seeing the end so close. THRILLING to follow the Chateau become what your dream and vision intended. PS. the brush application spot on. Vintage chateau paint would have been applied the same. Can't believe I missed the live. My heart sank a little seeing Benoit going up on the rail.....but hands down he knows his trade- a true artisan.

The beginning of a project is very exhilarating and nearing the end is always so anticipatory. It’s just that long part in the middle that really stinks. I keep thinking the spirit of the chateau is so thrilled you’ve come to rescue it. It thanks you for every brushstroke and pipe fitting.

Benoit is a true craftsman, so talented! I love the banter with him and Phillip. 😃

I binge watched from the start in just a few days and was sad when i finished the last video yesterday, now I spot this one just in time for putting the baby to bed. Perfect timing 🍷

I binge-watched when I found the channel too - it was sad to now have to wait a whole week for the next instalment - first world problems! 😆

My mother always said “Things of quality have no fear of time.” The love you have in restoring this chateau is proof of that…

And to Philip, in that he's so reticent when it comes to self praise, for his skill at plumbing and electric, his stellar sense of humor and his stunning language skill. We don't know about his German (though in personality at least he obviously challenges negative stereotypes) and are not qualified to judge his French - though native speakers obviously are comfortable speaking to him - but his English is nuanced and a pleasure to listen to. Not to overlook Anna's holding up the fair sex vibe. On network television this might be pushing the million dollars an episode realm.

I remember the crystal growing kit from when I was a child. They've been around forever.

The workmanship is just stunning.

My husband and I are renovating our home too, and I've just found your channel. Definitely jealous of your carpenter. We also chose white quartz counters that mimic marble, with grey veins. I'm so happy to find your combination of work and humor! Great editing too. I look forward to following your progress!

You both look so happy. There's such a fine art to designing a kitchen and choosing the colors. This is timeless but updated, fits today as well as hundreds of years ago. It is neutral but not at all boring. It is zen and restful. And once you're done, the food will bring in the color. What an achievement! I love that you honor the chateau's history and bring in small elements like the corbels.
