Charlotte Film: A Booming Industry

The film and video production industry spends more than $468 million annually in the Charlotte region. With a great diversity of locations in the region that are easily accessible from New York and LA, production teams have been shooting in Charlotte for decades. Blockbusters such as The Patriot, Talladega Nights, and Hunger Games were all based in Charlotte and filmed around the region. Showtime's award-winning TV show, Homeland, just returned to shoot for a second season in Charlotte where the area doubles as Washington, D.C., and Virginia.
