timberlake’s Prince “tribute” was not him paying his respects, it was a clout chase. That dude used Prince’s music and image for his own gain after Prince died. Prince would’ve never co-signed timberlake to use his music, ever.

After the Beatles, the Stones have put more standards in the rock lexicon than anyone else. Im a fan of Prince but his songwriting is very overrated. To be fair Keith is of an older generation. He didn’t even like Led Zeppelin that much. Btw, Prince used to cover Stones songs live on a regular basis like many other famous musicians.

Thank you for not being typical and adding Michael Jackson to this list but it is entirely untrue. They loved and respected each other and their talents. Prince was on tour when Michael died and he ended up locking himself in his room for a few days not speaking to anyone or even eating. He mourned his death as much as the rest of us. They say that we all die alone but when you think back with Michael, Prince and Whitney's passing, they were literally alone. 3 of the biggest in the business just gone like that with no one around. It's sad to think about. We lost a lot with their passing but they gave us so much when they were here. ❤MICHAEL 💜PRINCE 💜WHITNEY

Prince always wore super high heeled shoes, because he was quite short, and I guess he wanted to appear taller, and so, be seen more, on stage. In the end, it is what killed him. He hurt his ankles and feet so badly doing jumps, dance steps and wearing those high heeled shoes, was in so much pain, he became addicted to pain killers. An overdose killed him. I guess you might say, their insults killed him?

Wow, lol, so he left behind somewhere around 1,000-1,200 songs behind. That's based on 10-12 songs per CD, 1 CD a year for a hundred yea rs. Well dig it. If he wrote a song a week, it would've taken him approximately 23.07 years. Wikipedia says he was "active" as a musician from 1975-2016. 41 years. Soooooo, he didn't even have to write a song a week. Lol Thirty songs a year would've done it. I guess what I'm saying is...not that mind bogglingly impressive. Lol

I like sinead 's version of nothing compared to you but by far my favorite is Chris Cornell's his is with Princes timing I love it if you haven't heard it please check it out totally worth a listen

Prince was a musical genius, the guy taught himself how to play several instruments when he was growing up. I was fascinated by him when I was a teenager in the 80s and 90s.

Prince had a rebuttal to Lenny Kravitz's song "Rock and Roll is Dead" Prince released a song in response titled "Rock and Roll is Alive and it Lives in Minneapolis" but they were friends and respected each other.

Thing is Prince didn't hate Madonna..when she went to Minnesota for the Rebel Heart tour, he invited her to Paisley Park and did a show for her and her dancers..when she did her tribute for him she was crying while she was singing..she cared about him..they were friends...the media always tries to pit artists against each other

I guess Keith Richards didn't know Prince's birthname really was Prince. His name was Prince Rogers Nelson.

I don't care who dislikes prince, I love him, always have, & always will,. I hold high respect for him, he's been in my life my entire life, just as Micheal Jackson, d. 1980 birth year. I am a Stones fan but Prince could actually dance, sing, write music, play the guitar and most other instruments. On top of that he was very good looking, had swag and was smart. Same can not be said about Keith Richards.

Prince's death was so sad for me. He died almost 4 months after my mother passed away. I never thought when I was in high school that Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Prince would die so young. That their deaths would also be connected to drug use.

Yep. But Prince and MJ were in immense pain during most of their careers. I was Shocked when Whitney’s own Brother admitted in an interview (with their Mother in the room), that it was He who started his little sister on recreational drugs. She tried rehab several times, but it didn’t take. What a Waste of a Songbird.

Prince died from taking pain pills that he originally was written prescriptions for. He didn’t want to have his personal business/ health on record so he would have others pick them up in their names. Unfortunately, someone gave him a lethal dose of fentanyl which he thought by looking at the pill was legit and one of the pills that he often took for the pain. With all due respect and I loved Whitney but she had a cocaine addiction. Also not the same was Michael Jackson hanging with Elizabeth Taylor because she had the good pills (Google photos of them together high as a kite) and they would sit up and get high together. Unfortunately Mike’s problem started when he got his hair/head burnt while making the Pepsi commercial but even his dermatologist has said that Mike would come to his office with his children and ask to be sedated while his kids ran around the office. Mike could buy doctors and he did which led to Conrad Murphy’s raggedy a$$ being his Dr. Feel Good. RIP to all. 💜

​@@joiisler8986 Well to be honest my point probably is unclear. I have been all over the place since 2015. I figured that my mom would live to at least age 75. Both of her sisters lived past 80. Although my mom didn't die from drugs. She was addicted to Norco. She also had COPD from smoking since the 1950s. She was taking Norco for her back pain. I think she had Hepatis C. I also wonder that since my mom was taking higher doses of Norco that it masked key symptoms. Although the doctors thought her discomfort was possibly gall stones. She had an episode where she passed out and lost control of her walking. She was unable to get out of bed. They never understood what was wrong. She died while she was taking a breathing treatment in rehab at a local nursing home. She was suppose to go home in a few weeks. When she died the coroner ruled it was natural causes. No autopsy was needed. She left the ER around 5pm and was sent to the funeral home. By 7pm they had embalmed her. Well my stepfather had a big life insurance policy and if they knew she had Hepatis C it would have change a lot things. A few months after she passed he was diagnosed with Hepatis C. He took some new medication for it and got better. His first wife died from Hepatis C in 1998. Since 1998 they had been tested in the past and always tested negative. I wanted an autopsy and I was even willing to pay for it. I had the money. I guess it brings new meaning the phrase that life is not fair. So if my point doesn't make sense do understand I have a lot to think about.

Michael Jackson was very jealous of Prince naming his son Prince made that the dead giveaway.

I remember when Prince first came on the scene in late 1979. Prince was a misogynistic jerk all through the 1980s. He barely tried to hide it in Purple Rain and was known for trying to surround himself, then dominate the women around him. I hate to say it but he had the worst Napoleon complex in music.

Prince was a musical genius,He had an aura about him that was pure and beautiful.Nobody in the music biz could touch his creativeness.

However, even tho some say "it's a typo," -- on his birth certificate, its printed by Minneapolis music writer, Jon Bream, in his 1984 book on Prince. It's listed as ROGER. I dont CARE HOW MANY PEOPLE, HEARD whatever, REPEATED FROM SOMEONE ELSE....I DEFEND THE NAME as PRINTED.

I’m more of a Prince fan but I’m still willing to acknowledge that The Stones did some great stuff as well.

Prince EARNED the right to his legendary status and gets to be a diva. I think he was or annoying by how pop music became so half assed and Prince put everything into his music. I’d be annoyed too

Wow i didn 't kniw that Prince met Icke and was a fan of his books. Prince and Michael Jackson were two awaken artists that tried to spread knowledge hidden in their "pop" songs

Seeing some old vids of his band, I can't think of any group that was as kinetic as Prince's: there wasn't a person --including the drummer---o n that stage who wasn't moving around like crazy. Pure, raw ENERGY---that's what they brought.

One creative thing I heard Prince did was that no two Prince concerts were alike. When an artist tours a city, they will play the same shows, with the same song list. But Prince would never do the same show twice. Different song list each night, different lighting. He would sing what he felt like. So you could buy tickets to his concert one night, then go the next night as well, and get too completely different shows.

A lot of musicians are short: Bryan Adams, bono, keith Richards, etc. It’s less obvious when they are performing than an actor

Prince was absolutely correct about covers. You don’t cover perfection.
