Top 10 Songs You Didn't Know Were Written by Prince
Subscribe: goo.gl/Q2kKrD
The Artist wrote many classic songs, but he also wrote songs for other artists like The Bangles, No Doubt, Cyndi Lauper and Sinead O'Connor. Prince definitely had more talent than he knew what to do with and it's showcased in songs like Nothing Compares 2 U, Manic Monday and many more.
For this list, we’re focusing on musical numbers that Prince wrote but became bigger hits by other artists. While he did play background instruments on some of the following tracks, the primary vocals were delivered by fellow pop singers.

    @Honesty First So yes... and no. Prince knew how to record as good as anyone else, and he would prep 'demos' that were very good quality. but he also hired the best producers and recording engineers in the business. check out some interviews with Sylvia Massey and others who worked with him. yeah, he knew his shit. yeah, he'd tell them exactly what he wanted and what recording techniques and gear to use most of the time. but he did still hire the best to do it. recording yourself is extremely tedious. recording others is genuinely fun. being recorded is reasonably fun. yes, he was able to record himself, and sometimes did... but usually he'd call in some help. it's just a lot to do.

    People laughed at me when I said he was an even bigger genius than Mozart. I told them that Mozart didn't play as many instruments as Prince. Prince played every instrument on one of his albums. Prince could play guitar, piano, saxophone, bass, flute and drums and he played them all very well but he was probably best on the guitar. Prince also had a wonderful voice of multiple octaves, pretty rare. He also wrote thousands of songs, most are in a vault and may never be heard by the public. Motzart was great but I think Prince was greater, I wonder if Mozart could dance like Prince. Heh.

  • @johnslade7540

    @johnslade7540

    7 жыл бұрын

    It's not JUST the number of instruments but the fact that he played them well enough to make hit songs. He played all the instruments on one of his albums and it was great. Dancing is a great thing and he did it well. You can see what great dancing is when you look at James Brown. Prince had many talents and a great voice too. But his mental genius is what made him truly great, he wrote thousands of songs, many that may never see the light of day.

    As it is with most musical/artistic geniuses, he left us way too early. I have always held the theory that the depth of feeling it takes to create true genius oftentimes is too overwhelming. Exceptional artists feel more deeply, live inside their heads, use their pain, loneliness, loss, fear, to create beautiful art, but that same beauty is a poison which over time takes them from us.

Good Stuff! I know he was heavily influenced by singer-poetess Joni Mitchell.

    They were too dumb to know Stephanie Mills did " How Come U Don't Call " first back in 83' so, the posters of this video must've acquired knowledge about most of these songs, probably after his death and not from a very good source either.

    This reminds me of Michael Jackson saying if he doesn’t record his song ideas god will give them to prince, lol and I guess I’m just realizing they are both witnesses.

    My husband is a HUGE Prince fan, he probably knows just about every album, song, even lyrics. BUT he didn't know about the song Prince wrote and sang with Madonna for the movie Happy Feet.
