Love all your amazing work Karine! I play your stuff whilst I’m doing lash extensions on my clients and they too love it! Could you do a video on young Jada Pinkett Smith? Her childhood was quite interesting in regards to her relationship with her father and how it affected her in her adulthood. And then of course her romantic-platonic relationship with Pac and how Will Smith feels about it I think would all be so interesting to come from you! ❤

Makes me chuckle sometimes when people talk a about this "grooming" btwn partners. If you ever read the Bible, selectively pairing with a woman for either a blessing or wealth, it's the blueprint of relationship in biblical history. Are we now saying that as humans in current times we've evolved beyond this disposition? We have not, in fact, most people turn to the bible as a guidebook for foundation within the arrangement of marriage. When you think about Prince's religious beliefs he was trying to do right by her. He didn't want to cheapen her or sully her innocence. Listen to music during the time he was courting her.. he wanted to make her an honorable woman and a suitable bride. Question is was she ever worthy?? Hmm🤔

Your story is not uncommon. I remember my Mother being propositioned for me on several different occasions. She had the same response as your Mom. This is also the reason she was so very protective of me. She saw what I could not see and she understood what I was too young to understand. This is why it is very important for children to obey their parents. Simply listening to your parents could save you a LIFETIME of pain. Imagine being in Mayte’s shoes, when your parents will give you away. Secondly, these men that find themselves lusting after children need to be locked up. Prince was a demon.

Even though I love Prince as an artist myself: Just because he radiated femininity doesn't mean he respected femininity. I feel like he groomed her, locked her in a cage, controlled her every move and then discarded her when she needed his support the most. To suffer the trauma of growing into adulthood like this, the trauma of the loss of two babies and then be blamed and discarded for the whole ordeal is just heartbreaking. It's giving medieval, literally the life of a woman married to a prince. I wish her all the healing, I hope she finds peace and purpose. ❤

Auto immune disorders are believed by some experts to be caused by trauma. Prince was wrong to have taken such a young girl and mold and shape her to his own likes and fantasies. I understand that she loved him, but she was so young, and he was so much older, experienced, and talented, it's almost like he was a deity to her. But then he abandoned her with her grief and immediately replaced her with another wife. I can't imagine her suffering, losing 2 babies and then her husband discarding her. Messed up. That's a lot of pain to survive. So, her being diagnosed with MS isn't by chance.

So true. Yes, this stuff is hard to admit because you want to believe in goodness, that they did love you etc. Even if they do have some love for you, if they’re abusing you then it’s not healthy love and you can’t thrive in those situations. If you have a big heart you deserve someone who matches that capacity. That’s the only way that you will be healthy. Gabor Mate says that MS sufferers often fit the personality profile of people who sacrifice themselves all the time. So sad. We all need to love ourselves, don’t let anyone control or disrespect you. Even if you love them to bits, if you’re with them and it’s not equal.. you’ll be depriving them of their lessons, and stunting your own growth too. So it’s wrong for both people. Sometimes you just have to walk away. Hearts do heal in time.

Prince was a musical genius. My favorite artist of all time, and it hit me hard when he passed away. But on a personal level, he really screwed over a lot of the people in his orbit. I read Brown Mark’s book My Life in the Purple Kingdom and and some of the things in this video are in line with how Marc described who Prince really was. Controlling, selfish, cruel, arrogant and that’s sometimes difficult to come to grips with for someone who wrote the soundtrack for much of my young adult life. He will always be Prince it’s just hard to see your heroes tarnished.

She wasn’t a kid when she had sex with him(in her book) her parents used her for money since she was a little kid(in her book) she worked hard for her $$$$ since she was a kid. She didn’t hangout with friends cuz she was busy working(in her book) she didn’t really go to prom cuz she had to work afterwards so she just went for a hit and took pictures and left to work(in her book) Later on her mom had the hots for prince and chose to see prince just cuz the Tour was called the nude tour and literally thought he was gunna be naked(in her book) also in her book, Mayte told prince about what her mom said about him and the tour and he said “oh hell nah!” And that’s in her book!! In her book her parents stalked prince cuz her mother wanted Mayte to give him her tape. Her parents both forced her cuz when they saw him live they noticed some Arabic vibes to one of the songs he performed and both parents agreed that she’s got to give him her tape and so they decided to stalk him/follow him and they drove a lot to go stalk him at one of his concerts(in her book) in her book they were pen pals and didn’t really see each other. It was until her parents gave him legal guardianship of Mayte which was only for a year. That year she wasn’t even working for prince. She was just seeing what touring life is about. Later on she was touring with Carmen and the twins diamond and pearl. Then later on the love symbol album came out and they had sex when she was 20yrs old (in her book) dude was messing with Robyn power, Sheila e cuz Robyn was also in the picture cuz she asked prince if they could have a 3some together cuz she had a huge crush on Sheila. Also was with Nona and also was with one of the twins from diamonds and pearls era. Ain’t no way Mayte didn’t know about Nona since it was all over the place.

Prince was enormously talented but also very weird and deeply embedded in the occult. One common thing all the women in his life including his sister from childhood have said was he was extremely controlling, extremely cheap with pay (even though he complained bitterly about not getting paid enough by record companies that paid him lavishly compared to the poverty level pay checks he paid his women), was very punitive when it came to perfection in work, and insistent on women not gaining weight. He was described as fascinating and mesmerizing but never kind and gentle.

Right! I recall that money being the reason why his band was going through changes. They were not being paid or being underpaid and he was reminding them that he can play their instruments as in a one man band. When there was mention of Mayte not being properly compensated as one of his performers, it made me think about when Vanity alluded to similar at $300 as the lead of his the girl group to a mere $5k for his first film. Hence, a part of why she left. I think it was one of his female performers, Linda or Lisa, who said something about his having the women subjected to standing on a scale a weighed frequently. So, if he wasn't controlling through finances, he could have also been controlling of the women he fancied or not but was a part of his music troupe aesthetics. Now, when it comes to the baby being a loss for Mayte and him, it made me wonder what stress he put her under as far as what she could and couldn't eat because of the possibility he didn't want her figure to go through changes to accommodate normal pregnancy and healthy delivery.

Secondly, PRINCE was an internationally known superstar for nearly 40 years before he died, yet, there have NEVER been any rumors or concrete evidence of his being a homosexual. He never wrote any music about it, and he never advocated the act in his entire career, and he had spoken to Michael Dyson about it being wrong for a Christian pastor to be in favor of same-sex marriage! And as far as his wearing make-up, platforms, and feminine clothing, I can say that I didn't dig it or that it wasn't for me, but that was his style and he was so secure in his manhood and sexuality that he just DIDN'T GIVE A FUCK! That's a badass dude in my opinion! He's the only cat that's heterosexual that could get away with that. And a man wearing makeup doesn't make you a homosexual! A male engaging in same-sex activities is the definition of a homosexual person. Some handsome masculine males appear to be heterosexual, yet they're not! Some of history's greatest soldiers and gladiators were homosexual. In the prison system, some masculine males are having sex with other males, yet, they don't consider themselves to be homosexual. And, there are plenty of males who are currently married to women and have children yet they're practicing homosexuals. So your theories about my dude PRINCE being a homosexual is pure bullshit! You can hate on the brother all you want but at the end of the day, he was a winner that did it HIS WAY!

To add more context to my initial statement. Prince thought that by fictitiously stating that he's was Black and Italian. That it would make him more interesting. So no doubt by having Mayte saying that she was Puerto Rican and Egyptian. It would make her more interesting also. Too bad he couldn't see that both their talents alone made both interesting people.

I want to thank you for Mayte's story. I read her first book and while reading it my heart broke for her. Mayte went thru so much while with Prince. Her life was not her's, it was Prince's. Years after Prince's death was when Mayte blossomed. I wish nothing but happiness for Mayte. She deserves that and so much more. I read her book about 5/6 yrs ago and thought of her outgoing nature and down*to*earth personality Mayte could be the 'girl next door'. She can relate and get along with people from all walks of life.

When she speaks of him, even to this day, it doesn't sound like love to me. It's idolatry. Maybe it's because she was so young and inexperienced (with men & with life) when she got involved with him. His behavior was atrocious after the death of their baby. He just discarded her and removed all evidence of her existence from the house. Just awful. I remember seeing her on Hollywood Exes. She said she got a set of china when they divorced and nothing else. She was struggling financially, despite having been married to a multimillionaire. She keeps making excuses for Prince because it's probably too painful to come to terms with how badly he treated her.

Saw Mayte at a Prince concert in NYC. She was a wonderful dancer and there was magic between them. It was wrong for Prince to have legal guardianship over her. Her parents should have protected her. She was young, naive, and impressionable. That said, if their children had lived, they might have survived as a couple. Still, Prince didn't treat her right. As brilliant as he was as an artist, he was a terrible husband/boyfriend. His own troubled childhood never left him. My heart goes out to the lovely Maite. She's a gentle soul. Too many "yes men" for a long time when you are delusional is a very bad thing. That whole "out of respect" means that no one treated him like a person but like a cult leader. Kevin Smith did talk about meeting him and the weird stuff and he said he was sorry about that later on but I think everything he said was the truth, that Prince created Prince world and preached at everyone and they had to sit and listen and he made everyone signs an NDA. But Kevin managed to skip that part so he couldn't be sued for telling the truth. He totally groomed her to be his perfect little wife and she drank the coolaid. He also did good things but he was terrible to the women, he wanted to control them like dolls. I think the father signing over guardianship is because they wanted their daughter to work and have a career and thought he was the way to get that. In certain places they think of a 16 year old as an adult.

Also, she's been linked to Wade Robson in the past, one of Michael Jackson's modern day accusers, and even tweeted support of him...this is what I always say about Michael Jackson being a scapegoat. It's almost like people don't care whether a victim of abuse is real or fake, just so long as there is the illusion, so real victims can live vicariously through another's "pursuit" of justice. The point is, the fact she won't call herself a victim but will support a proven liar like Wade Robson, is someone who is in complete denial.

@@lynnerussell4263 Don't bother trying to educate people about Mayte. She also lied about the palm print of the child on her charity logo. Sadly, her baby would have had webbed fingers, not straight ones. One of the physical manifestations of Pfeiffer Syndrome 2 is webbed feet and fingers. Her pathology just goes on and on an on and nobody confronts her. The audience of Monday's podcast was told, in advance, not to ask her anything upsetting. No critical thinking is ever allowed around Mayte, who is now adding Nelson to her last name, 23 years after a divorce SHE initiated. Also, as a former social worker who worked with abused children, I can state that it appears almost nobody in this thread knows what grooming is. Mayte was 17 when she went to Paisley Park. The age of consent in Minneapolis was 17, but Prince did not sleep with her, when he legally could have. A groomer gains his targets confidence so he can sexually assault her later on because she trusts him. Prince and Mayte did not have sex until she was 19, and it was consensual. He had other girlfriends, women she was jealous of. She would not leave Paisley Park because she wanted Prince to be her partner. The only groomers in the room were Mayte's parents, who had their child belly dancing for cash from older men for a decade prior to Prince meeting Mayte. They sought Prince out, not the other way around. I used to believe Mayte, and ignore her detractors, until the past few weeks. There is way too much proof that she makes stuff up, usually to make Prince look bad, and herself look innocent. Ever notice Mayte never admits to doing anything wrong? It is always somebody else who is the problem. I wonder if the tide will ever turn.
