As far as I can remember, the answers from Palin were not written by the SNL staff, but taken from a original interview. The script was already finished by reality, the two actors only had to give an individual performance.

John McCain's advisors told him he should choose Palin because she represented the New Generation of Republicans. How right they were.

If any one thing sunk the McCain-Palin campaign, I think it was this skit. The reason was that most of America already thought Palin was short on brains, and this cemented in many voters' minds. Even if they did not see the live SNL broadcast, they saw this opening. Absolutely historic as well as hysterical.

I personally believe that Obama may be supportive of Russia because his own mother and grand-parents were members of the Socialist Party in America during the Cold War. Very scary!

They didn't even write jokes, they just read the transcript of the actual interview.

I can't count the number of times I have watched this over the years , but right now when we are in lock down and I've only been out of the house once in 2 weeks, it seems more brilliant than ever. If any of the guys who created this are listening/reading, thank you so much. This really raised my spirits, and, my goodness, we're in need of that right now.

Amy and Tina! Simply the best!

This skit NEVER gets old. The genius of these women is just awesomesauce.

Amy's incredulous blinking is underrated A+ physical comedy.

This is my favorite SNL sketch and I've seen hundreds of them :)

Tina is incredible here (as always... so underrated). And let’s not forget about Amy whose reactions are so hilarious. Spot-on Katie Couric.

Agree. She looks more like Sarah Palin than Sarah Palin. She was astonishingly good at this.

Hands down the greatest reoccurring impression SNL ever did. Tina as Palin is just too perfect. Genius.

The sad part is some of this was word for word what Palin had said in her interview!

They nailed it on this skit. Effing comedic gold.

Hahahaha, Amy is the best! That face, those blinks, I can`t stop laughing, and I certainly don`t understand how Tina Fey kept a straight face :D

I miss Tina Fey (Palin) and Amy Poelher (Hillary, Kate,...) This was one of the best SNL season in recent times
