@Dez Osbourne I'm not saying that anyone can 'fix' racism. But why is it so hard for the president to say 'i condemn white supremacy' on the debate stage. Why can't he look into the camera and say 'white supremacy, the KKK and neo nazis are not welcome in the USA'? Also, the fact that Biden knew who the proud boys were but the actual president didn't (or so he says) is concerning.

@@julianosvonskingrad7009 Around the time of the 2008 election, Palin's daughter got pregnant and then married, and it might be that the wedding was forced on them by the campaign/palin because they couldn't abort the pregnancy or, alternatively, have an illegitimate child without this possibly costing the McCain/Palin ticket votes. that's the gist of it.

"I believe marriage is meant to be a sacred institution between two unwilling teenagers"....this may be one of the most slam dunk lines in SNL history. Never has hypocrisy been called out so artfully.

They staunchly opposed gay marriage on the grounds it denigrated the "sacred institution of traditional marriage". But during this campaign, her teenage daughter got pregnant and they had pressured her daughter and boyfriend to get married so that it would look better from a public relations standpoint. In other words, she was pushing two unwilling teenagers to get married. The best part is: After all that, her daughter divorced him and then got pregnant again with another boyfriend. Also, the daughter was on an paid tour to preach sexual abstinence to teenagers. And....Sarah Palin herself got divorced. This family was an absolute circus.

Remember when she was asked about what newspapers she reads. ANY halfway intelligent and knowledgeable person could have invented a good answer: Name 1 or 2 of the major papers in Alaska. And she could throw out a few big names. (WaPo, New York Times, FP Foreign Policy, the Economist ...and on the Conservative side The American Spectator, National Review, The Christian Science Monitor). 3 out of that pool would have made her look good. While saying she wish she had more time for reading and that her staff gets her informed and points out interesting article to her. but then of course she would have needed to EVER read a tiny bit to even be aware of these names. And it would not hurt to have read an article in the recent past - just in case you are asked. The folksy blabbering carries only that far - it is hard to conceal stupidity and complete ignorance when pressed. That is the reason Trump uses certain vague phrases: No one can contradict him on: "We will see." or "I do not show what we have up our sleeves." or "It is easy to win a trade war" - (the latter would require a whole lecture, that can be contradicted, but it is not a single fact that is true or false). Or: it will be tremendous. It will be great. Sure reporters can press him WHAT will be great and how are they going to achieve it precisely. (The crowds are eating it up, no questions asked). "you will get better and cheaper healthcare. It will be much, much better than Obamacare" - Now: If Sanders says that - one knows that he worked behind the scenes and for decases on that issue - the pesky details. There is not time in the speech - and the voters do not care about the details anyway. Trump on the other hand makes such upbeat statements in a state of blissful and complete ignorance. So naturally later Trump said: "Who know that healthcare is so complicated." lol

Yet... just the other day I watched a man debate a woman, and the "jokes" in this skit suddenly became reality when Kamala was utterly dismantled and destroyed in the debate. Suddenly, it became sexist when a VP tore apart the lies of a candidate VP, it was "mansplaining" and sexist on the man's part. My oh my how the left have suddenly lost any trace of humor.

@@STNJ_YT I watched Kamala's talking points get dismantled one by one. The only reason ANYONE talked about the fly, is because it was a way to distract from the fact that Harris lost that debate. If she had a decisive "win" in the debate, people would be talking about her wins. It's like when your favorite sports team gets blown out in the championship and the only way to cope is to talk about that hilarious moment at one point during the ugly loss.

This is Sarah Palin and not Tina Fey and no one can convince me otherwise.

Alec Baldwin is a good at portraying evil characters in movies ( since in him dwells so much anger and resentment plainly exhibited by anger filled, profanity laden diatribes at his daughter, Kim Basinger and a violent confrontation he creates with reporters) but is replete with hatred towards Trump, which easily shows in his vindictive, venom filled horribly uncharacteristic portrayal...it may appear funny to some but it does not reflect Trump's personal or professional conduct.....Tina Fay fails to mimic Sarah Palin on numerous levels...she is not nearly as attractive as Sarah...her presentation of Palin as an airhead (as written by the very far leaning writers at the time) is the democrats fantasy and a utter reflection of the terrible fear they had of her being a sweeping conservative voice to drive the Republican voters who were disaffected ( by MCcain's lackluster performance against Obama's political and personal attacks) to the polls in overwhelming numbers to clinch the presidency...

What poor collective memories we have. Every election I recall had people freaking out and talking about how unprecedented this one is and how x candidate is the worst of all time. I honestly think the W Bush hate was heavier than the Trump hate and now a decade + later people on both sides are saying how genuine and kind he was.

I thought it was funny in the film that they included scenes of Palin (played by Moore) watching herself on TV (played by Fey), so you could compare their impressions right there - that's when I thought "Moore is better."

She got the look, and the vocal intonations down wonderfully. The writing was horribly off, but it had a target audience to please, and it was still pretty funny... so that can be forgiven. It also helps that Tina is naturally sexy enough to pull it off too, so there's that.

It is amazing how Tina Fey nailed the dead-behind-the-eyes, stiff-mouthed look of Sarah Palin. Anyone can do the stupid talk, but Fey WAS her.

I drove through Scranton Pennsylvania today, realized "Oh hey, isn't this where Joe Biden grew up?" solely because I remembered this clip (around 6:00) from 12 years ago. That explains why they alreadu have a President Biden expressway nearby.
