    If it was anything like what happens today, she wouldn't be merely leaving him and the son, the cave family court would award her with the son and all his stuff and ongoing payments of more stuff and if he runs out of stuff, he goes to cave jail forever. See how much we have grown socially since caveman times?

    The correct answer to the question is "Whu? But honey, you already look better than these pictures!" If Karen continues fighting after that, she's a lost cause. A reply like that separates the good partners who are just temporarily in a bad mood, from the truly toxic ones that have got to go.

    And to boot, I see a lot of sexism in the comments here. This isn't even limited to men or women or whoever/person, anyone can be toxic like this and gaslight other people in a toxic relationship. I've seen it happen to people I care about. I've even done it myself and I'm not proud of it. I should have been kicked out on my ass years ago, but I've been getting help. In short, gaslighting isn't cool, coming from anybody. If a relationship can blow up after a single argument like this, there's no way it's only one person's fault. • @casbyness

    @casbyness

    Karen returns in two hours and spends the next three days refusing to speak to Gary, dropping a tangible black cloud of suffering over the cave and rest of the family. On the fourth day, she realises she needs Gary to do something for her, and just randomly starts talking normally to him again as if nothing happened. She never refers back to the argument or apologises for anything she said or did. We also don't see that after she storms out of the cave in her feigned rage, the moment she gets outside her mood completely changes and she spends the next two hours chatting and laughing with her girlfriends (on a stone-age cellphone) about how much she just "owned" Gary, "made him pay", put him in his place etc. The version of the event she provides to her friends is completely fabricated and bears no resemblance to what actually happened whatsoever (e.g. she'll claim that Gary physically threw her out, raised his fist to her multiple times, and started the argument when he arrived home). Eventually the Garys of the world invent portable video cameras, and by the start of the 21st century everyone gets to see how Karens really act in these situations, instead of just hearing their lies.

Oh, that and working, whether it's a real job or very basic house chores, as I've never seen her do or even attempt either. Oh, and logic, she *really* hated that. Now I fucking cant stand my dad and feel sorry for my mom, and I totally get it. She should have just gotten a divorce instead of thinking that all of that arguing was going to get her anywhere.
