Rich from a 63 year old retired airline aircraft mechanic that's worked on everything over the years, YOU ARE THE BOSS brother. What a great truck, and a a great accomplishment, stuffing that big Cat under the hood.
It’s crazy how good the much later bumpers look on an old square body, love that look! 👍

Don't feel too bad about the hose, Rich. I was a hose routing guy on several vehicles and we don't actually do much in the way of cycle testing calculations. We take our best guess in CAD, we build prototypes (which almost always get revised), then we shake the whole truck (like... really, really, shake it... for a long, long, time) and see what breaks. Prototypes get driven to lunch and on errands all the time exactly to find those sorts of gremlins while they're close to home. You basically did it the same way the "pros" do. We've even fixed our share on the side of the road. 😂
The usual project teething problems. Folks expecting things to work perfectly the first time on a project like this have never done a project this involved. Very cool truck. Can’t wait for your Edison build as I have one ordered as well.

This is the truck every guy wanted to dream of and build, but would be illogical, insanely out of reach and too damn complex, big and daunting. And yet, you've made an incredible series documenting the success, the head scratchers, the failures, and the trials to get to this. Even if no one else ever copies this, I hope they see the thought process and determination from this as a blueprint for success. Success in starting, success in keeping going and success in over coming challenges to reach a running project. You, your family, friends and crew, have a great 2024!
Such a good rig. Can't get over how well thought out it is. This is my favorite build on KZread. Phenomenal job and I hope we see more of it

Happy new year to all of the DG family. I’m excited to see the upcoming year’s projects. Big yes for highlighting the obstacles that every project has and how it’s just part of the journey. I have people in my village, all Dodge owners, that any small setback on their vehicle is trip ending and a personal failure which isn’t a happy way of life. Also the brake kleen/ hairspray method has never let me down. Thanks again for bringing us along even though I’m only here for the music.
Love the F tree kitty content, Rich. Out of all your builds, this one is the most interesting, imo.
I love how you show the good the bad and the ugly with running custom goodies. I always learn from your videos, thanks man 🤙🏼💯❤️
This is one of my favorite channels to watch now! Neighbors to the north , very informative and love the knowledge I gain about my trucking industry and equipment.
Do you need a specialist. I am the specialist. That line should be in your intro every time. Great story Rich. And as always great editing Aaron. Love the music too.
Thanks guys for continuing the F Tree Kitty adventures. You're making the build look easy as usual. Any one of the 500 tasks involved in building that truck would frustrate me to quitting. Very satisfying and fun to watch. Hell on Earth to actually do.
The F-Tree-Kitty might be my favorite project or DBG. Granted, it's all great Co tent, but this one I especially enjoyed from start to finish, inception to fruition. Top tier stuff, gents. Can't wait to see what 2024 brings. 🤘😎🤘
Thank you for creating such excellent content! You and Aaron make high quality videos with real life projects and none of the fabricated drama of the networks. I’m sure you are inspiring the current and next generation of mechanics, engineers and enthusiasts. Keep up the great work and I’ll keep tuning into every episode.
This series has been an absolute treat. Love your work rich!
Happy New Year to ya DeBoss and Aaron and Andy. You guys rock and can't wait to see what 2024 has in-store for us!!! 👍😎💯♥️🇨🇦 And all the rest of the crew to cuz without y'all we wouldnt have this incredible channel!!♥️♥️♥️
Quite the trip, guys - love the way the FTreeKitty sounds rolling down the highway.
What a beautiful rig . GR8 vídeo clip. Greetings from North Texas.
F3Kitty fits you perfect! Much cooler than a brand new powerstroke.
Teething issues are a guarantee with such a project... but you chip away and get it perfected ... I'm in the same boat with my camper conversion. Awesome workmanship Rich 👍👍👍
I was taught on the older rigs that you need to "milk" the power steering to press the air bubbles out while the engine is off. The idea is that fluid flowing has cavitation that prevents bubbles from being bleed out. Lift it again and cycle it back and forth 10 times lock to lock and see if the whine clears up.

This has been my favorite playlist on KZread - period. I’ve watched every single one.
Probably my favorite build on KZread ever done. The Caterpillar has to be the coolest swap I’ve seen, and very technically interesting to follow along with. Only thing I disagree with is the bumper choice, but that’s subjective. My dad had a white 97 I remember crawling up into as a young child, and claiming to “drive.” I’m happy to say I have a 97 F350 of my own now that I actually do drive. I think I’ll keep the 7.3 that’s in it though haha.
Boy, seeing both those clean white trucks pulling out of the hotel in the morning is SO SICK! What a nice pair!
Once again you continue to inspire me. Merry Christmas, Happy New Years, and many more to youre family. Love from Texas, Garrett
That is a beautiful amazing truck. I love that style Ford.
As soon as you said you "I put clean pants on, no working today" your truck heard that!! 😂 29:37

On the road put to work a long time ago. 10 000 km on it before we parked it for winter
Awesome video, nice to see that truck make it all the way down to Texas and back. Now you can tweak the intercooler hose connections if you said it looked a bit bent, and can now work on the rest of the truck when you get time. It is awesome, love how you have turned it into a modern truck with the great old school styling.
As handy and knowledgeable as Rich is, to hand-build a truck and have it break down several times already, is a testament to how hard it is to build a reliable diesel truck. I feel the average every-day person has no clue as to what type of engineering and expertise goes into building these things. We just bitch and call it “junk” if anything breaks, lol.
The custom battery cable bolts with adjustable nut is a perfect addition 👌🏻
I feel you on the working out the bugs part. I did a frame swap (2wd-->4wd)/4.8LS/4l80e swap on my squarebody and there isnt much I havent had to do twice. Between 40 year old parts you thought would be ok (they werent), new parts that were bad (bad new caliper which mislead me to believe I had a bad trans as it wouldnt shift out of 1st), wire chaffing from vibration, half a dozen brake line leaks, transfer case slipping out of low (still havent figured that out even after disassembling for a second time.), and installing the front calipers upside down. Im no professional mechanic obviously but the struggle is real.
Love thr channel. All the hard work you put in and then on top of that finishing projects. Most of us never get half way thru a project because life or money stops us. Much respect and credit for making great content and building awesome projects that are very difficult to do.🙂👍 I hope one day I'll have the patience and knowledge that you have. I work on cars but tend to get frustrated because I don't have great tools or the right tool. Ur videos always boost my confidence to finish the job on my vehicles.
A pleasure to watch. Many thanks.

We'd like to see the 24V cummins silverado do this kind of work too! But to be honest, a crew cab truck makes a lot of sense in long road trips. Still my fave truck on YT!

GOLD! Thanks for sharing.
Love this truck man. Definitely a dream truck for me. Great job!!
Damn, wish I knew y’all were coming to Texas. Would have love to say thank you for the entertainment.
I used to use the hair spray trick on the handle grips on bicycles, helps it slide on and sticks so it don't slide off. ingenuity to the rescue ❤
hairspray is also great for installing grips onto handlebars of things like bikes and scooters. while its wet it helps you to slide the grip on and then it really sticks them on
Good job on the redhead steering gear. I got one for my second gen dodge they are the best!
This is one of my most favourite trucks, i love the square body style and the fact its got a cat deisel in it, just makes it so much better.

On the plus side with removing that filter you got a lot more volume flow! 😁
Love the rd trips. Perfect truck for the job. 👌👌
Throw 1-2oz of Arch oil 9100 in the PS pump. Will clean up the whine and help steer.
If ya want to really clean your hands, wash the dinner dishes by hand. Works for me. Project is high speed!
Really looking forward to your collaboration with Edison Motors. So much potential in these old trucks going serial hybrid.

My dad had a one of those body style trucks when I was little and I’ve got a bus with a 3126 so this thing is easily my favorite KZread project vehicle.
Rich. I have a red top steering box in my TJ for over 6 years. Still as tight as the day I got it. I would highly recommen it to anybody looking to replace their steering box
Excellent work Rich. Really enjoyed this F350 series. Did I notice correctly that the engine starting improved significantly after the high pressure filter delete?
Druel, Deuel. That is 1 sharp looking Truck.
Happy New Year!
26:10- best line ever of the segment 😎👌
I NEED THAT TRUCK!!! It is a beast.
Beautiful truck!
I was told by my local wrecker that those steering boxes were used in all the ford trucks, from Ranger to Heavy Duty. He sold me a couple ranger boxes over the years for my F350. After killing off a few used ranger boxes I also bought a Red Head.

Happy new year, loving the vids rich.
As always great video. I have the fuel tanks on the OBS trucks it was junk from the factory. Ditch the duel fuel tanks and maybe consider a 40 gallon single tank. With 3.73s you would probably have 600+ miles of range. Amazing build.
“I am your specialist.” Amen Rich 🤘🏻
Just an FYI CAT has an inline filter up fit kit for the C7 hpop. Found it out when I replaced a bad pump a few months back.
Good info on the steering box also I have a 87 f350 4 door that needs one.
Bill, nice ride you got in your shop
Great build
Nice truck Rich - watch the series, you should share towing mileage - I know you didn`t tow all that many KM`s this trip, but would be great to know for those diesels with the emissions systems and the new big gassers. Love the channel, such great projects
I have never thought to wear ear plugs while working under my truck until I just saw you do it, I'll have to keep that in mind next time I'm on a service road smacking rear drums underneath a spool truck.
I'm pretty impressed with all of them custom fab and all of the off the wall stuff you did to make that truck work It pulled the miles and made it home problems are to be expected good job keep up the good work You have an amazing amount of time and effort into that vehicle and I commend you for it Just imagine bringing To a shop and saying I just need a Tune up and have them pop the hood And watching the reaction would be priceless good job buddy
I'm new to this channel and I'm loving it
So inspiring!
Fords are lookin good on Ya!
I can't think of a more fitting truck for the Cat filter conversion on the FASS pump. Filter numbers 1R-0749, and 256-8753 cross with the original FASS filters, and the yellow Cat branded filters would look phenomenal hanging out from under the #FTreeKitty.
Great to see Erron again

Sounds like those fuel lines needs some sort of strain relief which is mounted to the high pressure fuel filter assembly, so hopefully that eases the vibration forces on those o rings.
