Seized-up Ford V8 Engine from Barn Find Pantera Gets Restored | Redline Rebuild

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It's finally here. The complete time-lapse of Davin restoring our Ford 351 Cleveland from the barn find De Tomaso Pantera that Tom and Brian found. It's been a long journey, but it's all worth it when you hear the engine fire up for the first time. Now, hopefully we can get it into the car and hit the road again soon.

    The most well-made vid I have seen on YT. I can't tell you how many times that blasted Cleveland cylinder placement has caught me with the 180 degrees out snag. Hey so please elaborate on the two lean misses I heard when you'd blipped the throttle? Bigger jets needed? Or is it accelerator pump needs to come in faster or with more volume?

    Let's be honest here, it's the engine restoration dat got us here in the 1st place ... then the time lapse and the rest just falls in its place perfectly. For context - I live in a country where English is the 4th language, only have come across 3 Pantera in my life, v8 big block/small block are for the super duper mega rich, sultans and his kids .... myself as a working class dat will never ever own any v8 or American muscle, many here like myself, watch and enjoy Hagerty contents bcoz of our luv+passion for petrol power cars.

    This is exactly why you never pay to have this machine work done on a rebuild, you can never sell it for the ludicrous goldmine you had to waste to get it done right. Buy from the sucker who already had it done for his deep hole pet project.

    The Right Stuff- Now this is how you tear down & rebuild the Ford Pantera 351 Cleveland V8. With some slick time elapsed editing, kool tunes playing in the background with the effort involved to bring it back to life. I'm glad you're saving this one. It deserves it. The Pantera has always been my favorite car since I was a young driver, most likely due to my first impression of it, as it blew by me at about 95mph on the interstate one day. The Right Looks. The Right Sound. The Right Stuff.

  • @BenCautious22
    @BenCautious22Ай бұрын

    Been here, done this. I managed to hydraulic a '71 Pantera's 351C by opening the "trunk" lid (rear) in the rain to get a book, then starting the engine a couple of days later. I was unaware at the time, but the bodywork and air cleaners are kind of designed to funnel water into the engine. It fired ONCE, (pretty loud -- a glorious, sad sound). Bent crank, blew holes in three pistons, broke two rods and twisted one like licorice, bent push rods, heads blown off the studs, etc.). YOUR motor is in very, very nice condition by comparison. Thanks for the great video that made me happy and immensely depressed and happy.

    I never knew how much work was involved in rebuild an engine until I watched this video. Cool!!

    The production quality of this video, over and above the craftsmanship that's happening before our eyes, is absolutely first class. Taking something ordinary and making it extraordinary. Well done!

    When I was 20 I traveled in 1979 I went to to every state in the Us and every province in Canada in a ford courier with cab height camper shell and slept in Holiday Inn parking lots and showered with a 2 litre bottle of water painted black on the dash and did factory visits all over America and stopped at the FORD CASTING PLANT IN CLEVELAND and watched them pour blocks and you guys sure have a great shop to work on those engines.
