It is actually sooooo hard to pilot on controller on this game

My heli skills are greatly improved from when I originally started but planes not so much

Find a heli that's high on agility. I noticed when you get the beacon warning sometime you don't deploy ypur flares. You can make progress by learning from your moves that's giving you a hard time. Keep experimenting.

I'm way better with helicopters it's my preferred vehicle and I usually deploy flares once the missile is away unless I get distracted

Instead of shooting your missiles use your 50 you’ll get some kills faster
