41:54 Yeah, but that movie that concluded the series sucked. It was the same with "Return to Zombie Island" where the people said "it never happened and it was all in the gang's head". It's such bullshit writing and ruins the original material. I'm waiting for them to ruin The Witch's Ghost! You just wait!

The only time that I never hated commercials was when I watched those bumpers back in the day. Made me, as a kid at the time, feel like these characters were real like they were in Who framed Roger Rabbit universe/film. Nowadays Cartoon Network is mostly doing LIVE ACTION type shows (last time I checked) like its counter parts Nickelodeon and Disney are doing.

This just reminded me of two of my favorite Cartoon Network bumpers that were not featured in Nostalgia Critic's video: first, among the many musical numbers they featured, was the Jabberjaw alternative-rock video where all the characters were running around the contents of someone's lunch box because they were the featured cartoon on said aluminum lunch box... & second- the Cartoon Network questionnaire! I could recite every question & response word for word! "Cartoon Network: You've got questions... that's, um... understandable." "Why are the Smurfs blue?" "WE'RE NOT! WE'RE GREEN! Adjust your TV!" as the Smurf in question adjusts what would've been an old-timey television set (with the dials on the front, unbeknownst to most kids of the 90s) & changes to a weird vermillion-esque green hue... ahhh, classic lol.

For anyone wondering, Thundarr the Barbarian was created under the supervision of Joe Ruby and Ken Spears (The original creators of Scooby-Doo) through their own studio, Ruby-Spears Enterprises. Eventually, said studio would be owned by Warner Bros along with Hanna-Barbera. Sadly, both died in 2020 within three months of each other - Mr. Ruby died of natural causes on August 26 at the age of 87 and Mr. Spears died of complications from Lewy body dementia on November 6 at age 82.

It's a shame the sheer amount of bumper content that becomes lost media. These were meant to only play for a few months at most, sometimes down to a single day for a special event, then never again. A surprising amount of budget and talent went into these, so letting them disappear seems counterproductive. They should be presevered alongside the main channel content as pieces of history.

20:06 the way nate mentioned about these bumbers showing characters from different shows interacting with eachother in their off the clock /spare time it makes a lot of sense. It reminds of a a couple of Omakes at the post credit endings of episodes 121 and 142 in naruto shippuden -sakura’s way to say “naruto” and hinata’s way to say “naruto”. In hinata way to say naruto omake. It showed a voice acting session had wrapped up for the day and we see naruto, saskue, kakashi, hinata, kisame, orachimaru steping out of the voice acting room and tsuande told hinata that the director wanted her to say naruto’s name in several ways of emotions while front of the rest of the characters. And on top of it does not affect the main naruto storyline at all. Its pretty much a gag

38:13 Plus Johnny did have successes. Hell, they confirmed in the show he wasn’t a virgin anymore when the volcano rejected him as a virgin sacrifice. It’s just that he strikes out with nearly everyone we see on the show outside of what was it, a werewolf or something? Plus, the whole point of the show was showing how his behavior would get his ass kicked.

I just wanna briefly correct Nate by saying they didn't nuke Toonami in favor of Miguzi. Miguzi and Toonami basically coexisted for a while. Heck, Miguzi died off before Toonami got the boot in around 2007/2008. Then after that, CN Real happened and...Yeah...That was a dark age for Cartoon Network.

Jetsons, top cat, johnny quest, bugs bunny show (theatre shorts with new bumpers), mr magoo show (same) were all prime time shows when they first came out. As for scooby he had tons of shows before 90s. (not in order)_ 1. Where are you 2. scooby-doo movies 3. scooby scrappy show 4. scooby-doo dynomutt hour 5. scooby richie rich show 6. scooby puppy hour 7. new scooby and scrappy show 8. new scooby mysteries 9. 13 ghosts of scooby-doo 14. laff a lympics 15. pup named scooby 16. scooby doo show/ new scary funnies--rereuns of other shows with a new intro. He was on dyomutt episodes also and was on the superstar 10 tv movies.

You guys lost the video for the second half of the reaction. Have any of you guys ever watched Thundarr The Barbarian? If not, or if it’s been so long that you’ve forgotten most of it, maybe you can do a series of videos of your reaction to watching Thundarr. To me, it’s my all time favourite Saturday morning cartoon. It’s like taking the best parts of Conan The Barbarian, Star Wars, Planet of the Apes, and The Road Warrior, mixing them all together, and turning them into an animated series made for kids. Maybe invite Mica along to watch it with you guys. He’s such a big fan of all of those franchises that he’s likely to really enjoy it. Think about it.

37:30 speaking of the Johnny x scooby doo thing watching as a kid this completely over my head but now I finally get now but the episode goes on and to a point where everyone has to split up as the gang does and instead of Fred saying who to go with who it’s Daphne that says and at first she says Fred and shaggy go to the basement but before she finishes Fred interrupts her and says daphne and gives her the eye like “but me and you girl” and she changes her mind to go to the basement with Fred. Like how’d that get pass everyone lol

Like most, i love the golden age of 90s cartoon network and i did fall off with it as i grew older into adulthood. But i was surprised at their later entries. I would watch ben 10 alot. And even later, adventure time, regular show, steven universe, gumball and heck even uncle grandpa. All really solid shows. I was surprised CN is still going strong at that point. Idk the state of CN now since the shows i mentioned already ended. But i hope they are showing cartoons that kids today will talk about fondly as they grow older... F*** teen titans go though. Fun fact: that pulp fiction bumper is actually casey kassem's last time voicing shaggy before matthew lilliard took on the role.

From watching “Scoobynatural”, we know that Velma has a thing for guys with broad shoulders. Which is why she was so thirsty for Sam. So I guess that also explains why she was crushing hard on Johnny in that crossover episode.

My Cartoon Network Favourites: Ben 10 (I watch all away through from The Classic Ben 10 to Ben 10 Omniverse, and I stop watching it when they reboot the thing instead have a Ben 10000 Cartoon which that would be awesome, they technically was building it up to see because Young Ben met his Future-self and you see Ben 10K’s villains like The Cyber-Rhino and The Future Doctor Animal) Teen Titan (Teen Titan Go can go to hell) The Grim Adventure of Billy and Mandy Ed, Ed’d N Eddy KND (Kids Next Door) (Crossover) The Grim Adventure of KND

The water Wonder Twin doesn't have a lame power, he has lame presentation and power use. There are no small roles, only small actors. And for the record, Aquman's been cool since at least the 70's. Even if Mamoa is A cool Aquman, he's not THE cool Aquaman.

Cartoon cartoon Fridays cartoon theater all the bumpers and groovies is what these streaming services are totally missing. I’ll say it again Cartoon Network was an experience. It wasn’t just about the cartoons but the overall vibe it would give you. Those in between bumpers and groovies totally made the shows much better. It hyped you up before you got to the show and even after the show it would hype you for the next show. It’s so hard to watch the shows I grew up watching without all the extra stuff. It now feels soulless. I still think that Cartoon Network should make their own streaming service but with experience in mind. I want to watch cartoons in a block format. Where I watch those cartoons I grew up watching but they still have the in between bumpers and groovies but also the option to watch cartoon theater and cartoon cartoon Fridays.
