08:04 The Smurfs are the size of gerbils. 12:17 HIM is not a crab...he has crab claws for some reason, but still, he's the devil in all but name...except they even say in the show that he's so vile that he's only called "HIM" by people and even that causes the mood to shift to terror. 13:26 You do know Scooby doo was made in the 60s, right? Scrappy Doo in particular came when they were adding new characters to "spice up the formula" in 1979. It...didn't work well. 14:37 That's Pepe le Pew. A skunk from Looney Tunes drunk on romance who constantly chased and made out with a cat, that he thought was another skunk, who hated him for his forwardness, inability to take a hint, persistence AND skunk smell. Let's just say that as certain real life cases became more and more apparent and the implications became worse and worse, Pepe was quietly dropped and isn't represented in the looney tines anymore. 15:20 Some brands do. And honestly, it should be ALL brands but I know some don't. 24:32 That's Ami and Yumi from the Hihi-PuffyAmiYumi Show. A show about two caricatures of a Japanese pop duo at the time. They were the ones that sung the Teen Titans theme song.

I'm part of the generation raised by tv, so Disney Channel, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon made up my entire week, while Fox Kids and Kids WB had my weekends. That said, I genuinely miss the charm bumpers had. Cartoon Network definitely went the hardest, but even Disney had some good ones, especially during the Zoog Disney era. Nickelodeon also had very creative ones too. I hope Doug eventually covers them. One thing I wanted to bring up that NC barely touches on is party about the voice actors. These were like 1-2 minute skits placed before or after a completely unrelated cartoon. So the network needed to track down and get all these voice actors in to do these small little scenes. That is a HUGE task for something so short, and it shows to me they wanted to put effort in their network at the time.

I do remember seeing the last musical ones, but I'm from another country, it's a miracle if ANY of this was translated at all and we didn't get the usual clip-show from scratch. We did the same thing for cartoon intros, adding a new theme all together. And I'll admit, there is something beautiful and original here and there. I wanna suggest to who is interested to check the Italian version of "Oggy and the Cockroaches" intro. Something similar to the Bumpers we had was, strangely, the telefonic companies episodic commercials: in one we had a commedy trio going on a balloon trip, then end up caught in a tornado and stranded on a desert island. I still remember the first thing the dumber of the three did: "Let's make an SOS" [writes "ELP" on the sand] "Idiot, with the H" "Oh right" [...] "What a cretin" (he wrote "ELPH") "Why? ...is there a second H?"

I think the Bumpers did continue to some extent exist past the City era, although not as plentiful nor on the same scale, a lot of bumpers we see today involves splicing clips from the shows though... I do remember around one of the Network's big anniversaries they had a bunch of bumpers with characters interacting like one with a bunch of monkey characters like Grape Ape, Mojo Jojo and Jake Spider Monkey (and also the Ben 10 alien Spider Monkey) with Mordecai cheering "Monkeys!" before getting told to get out. Not sure if this counts but I also remember stuff like a Finn hat song bumper that involved editing the hat of Finn from Adventure Time on various characters in their shows, so like it would show a Steven Universe or Gumball wearing Finn's hat and such. There was also a time where they were celebrating Scooby Doo with some stuff like recaps of classic episodes or doing unmasking scenes and changing the culprit to a character from a different show like JP from Craig of the Creek.

Count and chicken was a show about a mother and father who were just legs having a cow and chicken, and when I say that, I don't mean they got some from a farm the mother gave birth to them. That was the premise they just did weird stuff had weird Adventures. They also often dealt with a red devil like man (the guy who said to go sit with the freaks in the cafeteria) who never wore pants and changed his name every episode. Every name often references his big red ass, like Mr. Hiney or Dr. Butts, or the one time he wore pants which also served as his origin story of why he doesn't wear pants, Major Wedgie It was a episode of how mom and dad met during their time in the military back then being called private dad and private mom

The skunk he talked about getting cancelled is Pepe Le Pew, from Looney Toons. He has a French accent, and his whole gimmick is trying to seduce a black cat who accidentally gets a white stripe painted down her back. Follows her everywhere, plants unwanted kisses on her whole she struggles to get away. If he were real he'd be on ALL the lists

If there's two bumpers that live rent free in my head, it's the one where Prof. Untonium locked himself out of his car, and one of the music videos for Jabberjaw, sung by Pain.

I remember the "Cartoon Network City" Bumper I really like that one and the music video Ed Edd N Eddy Dexter Laboratory. The Project Scooby Doo was scary as a kid

22:58 Maybe you should do a reaction to all the music bumpers...Then again, even though it barely makes sense to do this, I wonder if copyright might apply.

Your next reaction should be reviews by thabigben1 like his new Darci Lynne review. Both really funny and heartwarming at the same time.

Answering the question before the video even starts, a bumper is what is shown right before a commercial break. The thing that goes we’ll be right back and stuff like that.

The bumpers stopped because Ted Turner sold turner broadcasting and AT&T cut him out and pretty much killed Cartoon Network budget.

also casey casum was a radio guy who was the first voice of shaggy he was vegetarian though so at one point he stopped being shggy until they promised to make shaggy vegetarian too, so that's why now shaggy doesn't eat meat anymore.

At times Shaggy doesn't. Casey became a vegetarian after the first season of the original Scooby-Doo series, so they changed Shaggy to be a vegetarian. (his Super Shaggy Sandwiches sometimes have lots of different meats in them)
