I'm actually the one who requested Doug to do the train PSA on Facebook. Growing up in Adelaide, South Australia, I saw those PSAs multiple times as a kid, and they really traumatised me to the point where I freaked out whenever we went over a level crossing, which my sister teased me about for *years.*

Yeah, we know they didn't say "f*cking pieces" , but it's more fun to imagine they did. Kinda like deciding in MMPR in the first Thunder Megazord battle that Jason actually did say "Whoa, that was close. Time to can this bitch!" (instead of him actually saying"fish") lol

I used to have a Baby All Gone. The cherries really did smell like cherry candies, I loved smelling them. I laughed harder at Nostalgia Critic saying Jesus Christ in Spanish than the ad itself. And I remember the Capri Sun ads. I've never taken ads like those seriously so I just thought they were morbidly fascinating

So glad those Capri sun commercials were among the things from my childhood.

actually, to give context (paraphrasing a comment on the original video), the Capri Sun kids were actually a sort of superhero thing where they lived out their lives pretty well. They all had names, and all of them actually lived out their lives.

That's what people think they're saying? I think I was in my early teens when this commercial came out. Swear words, especially King Fuck, were like that coolest thing ever at that time in my life. I NEVER ONCE heard that line like that.

That's exactly what they are saying. What anyone else thinks they're saying is either wanting to hear something dirty/odd or they're just flat-out wrong. Remember, Doug couldn't even recognize Green Goblin shouting, "You're running out of fluid!"

cruel reality for damaging level crossings: That woman wouldnt been legit arrested for backing out and damaging "Federal Property" and likely "Reckless endagerment of personel and children" oh, and "pulling on and stopping ON said crossing" in the first place. Worst of all: It happens far moee than not. Some by the legitamently stupid or ignirant, other times by the legit suicidal. Wouldnt have been a campaign if it wasnt dumbfoundingly common. And thats AUSTRALIA! Youd expect that for Europe or America!

Speaking of the universe, while I watched this when it got uploaded, I was eating a Crunch bar and the commercial came up, I was weirded out by that.

I completely forgot about the respect the pouch ads. They were so weird but I loved the unique effects they had.

I certainly remember that ad about the monster torture dolls. And I definitely remember those train ads. At least they made me never try playing on the train tracks near my grandparents' old house before they moved, so, they did their job

If I recall correctly, the reason why the Head-On ad is so repetitive is because they legally couldn't make any medical claims about what it was _supposed_ to do. That was because it's literally just a stick of wax that you're meant to rub on your head to relieve headaches, which obviously doesn't do shit.

Yeah, one of Grimace's older designs had eyes like that. I'm guessing what they're saying toward the end of the Reese's Pieces commercial is "funkin' shell", as in "Friday Night Funkin'". I think that...gate...thing was behind that woman in the car in the Australian PSA, actually.

Damn it, I remember wanting to see that movie so bad when it first came out...! I still haven't seen it.

Head-On actually did a few commercials with consumers mocking the stupidity of the commercials but praising the product.

Whenever I now watch this video it makes me think of me on my trip in Niagara Falls because it was uploaded on my trip from November 26-28 I was in Niagara Falls having fun which was roughly around the same time you guys went to scribble showdown Edit adding a point
