Cartoon Characters That Inspired Killers

Growing up you typically watch a lot of cartoons and will have your favorite cartoon characters. Sometimes somebody can grow an unhealthy obsession over a cartoon character which is called a parasocial relationship. These parasocial relationships over a cartoon character are extremely unhealthy because it has made some individuals commit some of the most heinous crimes. Such as the case of Scott Dyleski who was obsessed with an invader zim episode that led him to cut out the organs from his neighbor. There's also the infamous case of Randy stair who shot up a grocery store due to his obsession with a character from Danny Phantom. In today's video we talk about Cartoon Characters that inspired killers.

Clearly, these teens needed actual mental health therapy. They needed support. But no one was there for them and they didn't know what else to do. When mental illness is not treated, a person can spiral out of control. I am lucky to have received help at a young age. And let's clarify that cartoons do not make people kill. People decide to kill people by their own choices.

I hate when ppl blame the cartoon, video game etc. instead of looking at the real issue. MILLIONS of kids (myself included) watched these same cartoons & managed not to m*rder anyone. Clearly there are MAJOR underlying mental health issues that continue to be swept under the rug bc ppl would rather blame tv etc. bc its easier than admitting something was missed. If it wasn’t the cartoon that made these kids snapped, it would’ve been a book or something else.

I should probably mention that as far as I am aware, it's never actually been confirmed if Dark Harvest DID actually inspire Scott's murder. BlameitonJorge brought up the murder alongside the episode in one of his videos, and from what I remember, the video mentioned that two of the teens who testified in the trial, said he was joking about the mentions of Dark Harvest. Although they did also claim that Scott wasn't violent, so....it is questionable

Parasocial relationships hit me too. In 2012 after a dream I became OBSESSED with a Hollywood actress, like I’d watch entertainment shows like access Hollywood or Entertainment Tonight for even a mention or news of her. I would look through old entertainment weekly and other such magazines and collect articles and pictures of her,my family was extremely poor and had no internet and it was overwhelmingly a bad home life and this actress became everything to me. But in some ways I became a better person in a counterintuitive way. She was very much a feminist and supportive of racial equality, and I was a misogynist with racist tendencies. I decides to take her view of these issues and realized how wrong I was, while I don’t have that obsession with her anymore, I still retain the values I adopted because of the obsession. Perhaps i would’ve matured and outgrown my hateful thoughts and attitudes anyways, but then again maybe not. I try to take that positive change in light of what I can only describe as a very unhealthy experience.

It boggles my mind how Sheila didn't get her son psychological health so he wouldn't commit mass murder. It makes me sick. But all three entries were chilling enough. Two of which will be discussed at the final tier of the biggest Nickelodeon iceberg I've ever made, including Dan Schneider and the Nickcom Creep Club(which was given more updates thanks to the Max/Investigation Discovery docuseries Quiet On Set, very sad actually), and other perverts that worked on the network's originals. Especially what I call "obscure shit" like VeggieTales originally being a Nicktoon(according to Phil Vischer's biography book Me, Myself, and Bob; the irony stands with Nickelodeon's approval of Jimmy Neutron). The penultimate tier will have certain NSFW/NSFL material prior to the last one(where shit gets fucked up), such as the Jenny/XJ9 porn parodies by Zone-Sama, the questionable actions of Fanboy and Chum Chum shippers, the Cosmo and Wanda are antidepressants theory, and yet another Nickelodeon creepypasta Gregory's Room(made by Seinfeldspitstain, pronounced Seinfeld's Pit Stain, who was recognized for his surreal animation Jimmy Neutron Happy Family Happy Hour, which was in the higher tiers and is about a decade old now).

I'm autistic and I knew within less than a minute of watching the video on Brandon Hole by the KZreadr Explore With Us that he was autistic(being literally obsessed with 'My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic', rocking back-&-forth, wearing multiple layers of clothes due to his skin being sensitive to certain types of fabric), in addition to having OCD(which I also have and which very commonly co-occurs with autism) and being mentally ill. It's so obvious! How in the actual f@@@ did he not get an autism diagnosis and why in the actual f@@@ did so many people ignore the tell-tale signs that he was dangerously mentally ill?! I'm sorry for Brandon and I'm sorry for the people that he killed. This tragedy could have been avoided if people had just done their goddamn jobs!

Randy could be one of the golden age animation KZreadr, he can animate stuff, but he got corrupted, mental illness has taken hold of him. He could’ve done so much good, but he became a monster. I did a little research on that ghost girl, and Randy got her message wrong. It blind love that he had, a love without purpose. If he only went too therapy, find some meaning to his life, a purpose to seek, but now his soul will be reek.

You know. These kinds of topics have always interested me. Like. The people from fandoms that do such horrid things. I don't know if that makes me weird. But I want to like. Sit down and talk with people who think like this. As a person who's in one of these fandoms (take a wild guess which one iit is.) it makes want to talk to everyone in the fandom about what they believe and all that. Personally I don't really care what happens after death and all that jazz. If I get turned into a magical horse then wow. But if i die and then I like. Turn into ghost that's cool too. Basically. My point is. I want to talk to people like these, Just to understand how their brains like. Process things. Also. neat video. Not surprised Invader Zim made someone kill someone else.

You can talk to me. I have parasocial relationships with one of the characters from Bubble Guppies, but they never tell me to murder someone. I always get this strange feeling that they could actually be real in the afterlife, and i can be reborn as a guppy like them. Who knows? I'm autistic by the way.

It's absolutely aggravating that Shelia Hole knew that he son had a mental health problem, and she willingly allowed her son to buy 3 guns, and she was never charged as an accessory to the FedEx mass murder. I do know that she has now tried to justify the reasoning behind her, allowing her son to buy 3 guns, but it's still no excuse.

Zim: Because the show was dark. VERY DARK for a kid's show. People have copied dark stuff in shows/games forever... This isn't the show's fault (Obviously) People are just crazy and of course puritans will says it's the media's fault rather than the person... (Surprised Courage avoided this fate) MLP: The fanfics probably... Anyone remember Cupcakes? Also there's been cases of some people having very unhealthy relationships towards one of the Mane Six ponies... Danny Phantom: Guy got too obsessed with his ghost waifu and hated his life. So he created his own little world to escape everything and lost grip from reality... Sad really how people can lose grip so quickly... DO NOT blame these shows/fandoms for this stuff happening... It's literally giving the "violent games create violent people" puritans amo... And nobody wants that.
