Creeps Who Worked on TV Shows

During your childhood weekends, television shows likely played a significant role in your entertainment. While you enjoyed these shows as a child, looking back as an adult reveals a different perspective, especially when learning about the less admirable individuals involved behind the scenes. In today's video we talk about creeps who worked on TV shows.

Regardless of the very sad and unfortunate circumstances of what happened, Little Bill and Fat Albert had much better morals than something like Caillou. One of my family members recommended Fat Albert to me. And I watched some episodes, and they are incredibly deep for their time and had an extremely positive impact on me. my family member and I tend to look onto the positive side of things and not look to the negative and not even focusing on the negative all the time when we watch both shows because we choose to actually separate art from the artist. I also watched Little Bill when I was very young. and let's just say this... if Fat Albert and Little Bill actually existed. They would've both absolutely hated their creator and what he did to those women. People have got to learn how to separate art from artists when it comes to stuff like this, which, even though Cosby created both shows. Fat Albert and Little Bill literally had nothing to do with their creators' actions. And when people automatically point fingers at shows for what their creators did, it is just ignorant and highly uncalled for blaming an innocent cartoon for what the creator did. especially for someone like me who grew up watching Little Bill and Fat Albert. It comes off as very scummy. Keep in mind that not only these women were affected by Cosby's actions. But also the family members of Cosby who most likely had nothing to do with Cosby's actions IRL. even Cosby's deceased son probably would've highly despised what his father did..

As I stated earlier. I DON'T support the guy for what he did to those women. it was VERY evil and vile what he did. but these shows especially in Little Bill and Fat Albert's cases clearly meant a lot to people in many ways that people can't understand and they only stick to the negative sides of things. I tend to look on the positive side and not stick to the negative all the time. both Fat Albert and Little Bill are completly innocent cartoons that obviously had nothing to do with Cosby's Actions IRL. and people should know this by now. regardless of the matter. I still watch Fat Albert and Little Bill to this day. because those shows actually helped me and others a lot growing up. they had extremly amazing morals that almost no kids show can get away with now. Same! I have bipolar too! Often to justify people being terrible people tend to say others are bipolar. People who are bipolar are some of the kindest and most understanding people. People who arent like that shouldn't be subjected to the "all of us are bad treatment". And its certainly not a blanket either. You can be bipolar without being a creep, ped*, or a criminal. You would often be surprised how many celebrities from Jim Carey, to Mariah Carey have bipolar actually!

Also it was a cartoon network spokesperson, Jean Woo, who claimed Jake wasn't responsible for it. Honestly that reeks of damage control: they realized what their creepy writer had done but couldn't change it, as changing it would be seen as admitting it was true, so they got a spokesperson to claim it was just a joke and then quietly phased the character out. Besides, even IF they're telling the truth, it's distinction without difference. A person's co-workers creating a self-insert for someone else that he will voice and will be shipped with a 5 year old is not better than a guy creating his own self-insert so he can ship himself with a 5 year old. In fact, now that I think about it, I think the co-workers doing it "because it was funny" and him being totally okay with it might be worse than if he had just sneakily done that on his own.

@@DantesGrillyeah that is quite pitible that the format of chaotic families that got the show so much praise in the first place was scrapped almost entirely in favor of singular characters and their buddies nobody cares about. Interestingly however the show was actually morphing into this format while the creator was still around. I really feel like the show should've just ended at the last episode he worked on because at that point the show already peaked and everything is just a crummy recreation of his style. And that's literally all it is, the show desperately trying to recreate what got the show love in the beginning now with random nobodies but it also doesn't realize that it's a washed up show now, it already lived it's run and now it's time to let go. All this show is chasing these days is insanity for it's already peaked and it's not gonna redo that. Doesn't matter how hard they try to morph the show beyond recognition. Not really that huge on some aspects of it's humor though, it can be hit or miss, sometimes it's witty, sometimes it's fun and hectic, but most of the times it's the same few repetitive gags that tend to be annoying very similar to later Fairly OddParents' humor. I bring this up because it's something that barely went changed even years after the firing of the creator. (Apologies for the nerdy text wall)

@@zkoopa4445 I mean, even if the show was moving in that direction with Savino, it's still inspired by his family so I'd assume that he'd be better at fleshing out the characters. And I don't think Nickelodeon knows what to do with it except for milking it. Even at peak popularity the show was washed up. They made a spin off show that only Hispanics can relate to, compared to a show that anyone with siblings, or even people who had friends with siblings could relate to. The humor being hit or miss didn't matter much because the base concept was strong enough on its own.

@@DantesGrill I totally agree the hispanic spinoff is garbo and has no reason to exist, it really was only made because Nickelodeon saw easy spin-off potential, but the main show is all anyone needed for this nice family setting, it set all the grounds for what we would've needed with this concept and it of course became a beaten dead horse and is now Nickelodeon's second biggest cash cow. Going from a simple yet refreshing and intriguing idea about a big families and the lessons learned along the way and just ruining it turning into just another modern day cartoon with nothing worth remembering to put it lightly.

I'm an older millennial from the UK and I hadn't heard the allegations against Rod Hull until now. It's disappointing but sadly not surprising. I met him when I was about 4, and I cried because Emu bit my sister but not me, and I wanted to get bitten by Emu because it always made me laugh when he bit people. Now I think about it, he was pretty creepy. It's difficult to think of a kids' entertainer from my childhood who wasn't. I was a massive Rolf Harris fan. I watched his TV shows, listened to his music (he made novelty songs that appealed to kids, unsurprisingly), and had his Learn to Draw Cartoon Characters books. When the details emerged about Jimmy Savile (someone else I watched on TV as a kid), again it was shocking and upsetting but not that surprising as he hid in plain sight. There was always something unsettling about him, and rumours had circulated for years. But with Rolf Harris, that was heartbreaking for me as I'd always seen him as this wholesome Bob Ross type figure (though apparently Bob Ross wasn't that wonderful behind the scenes either). Another BBC "family" entertainer who turned out to be a PDF was Stuart Hall who hosted a popular show called It's a Knockout. There was even a special charity edition that featured members of the Royal Family (Jimmy Savile and Rolf Harris also had ties to the Royal Family. Hmm...).

  • @torytellstales

It's a power dynamic, that's why. Children can't consent to things and can easily be manipulated and taken advantage of. It's a very fragile world right now for kids to live in. Therefore, I'm never going to teach the lesson of "You should love everyone." Because that's what child predators are counting on. We need to teach our kids to bare their teeth at people trying to threaten them or not respect their boundaries.

I know people hated Clarence for being a "bad show" but truthfully I think people didn't get into it because of the creator but not only that, the fanbase was 95% comprised of pedophiles. I used to like this show but the show is nothing more than something that I don't think I can watch anymore. I was exposed to so much shit by fans of that show it's haunted me ever since, I was only 12 years old when I got into the show and I wish my adolescence wasn't tainted by the shit I went through.

0:56 My dad back then as a kid use to watch "The Ren And Stimpy Show" with his brother Eric, and it was a funny show, his favorite episode was Fake Dad. The show might of had some dark humor, but in my opinion, the right amount, take for example Flamin' Hot Cheetos, the right amount of spice... And one time, my father found "The Lost Episodes of Ren and Stimpy." And he thought it would be more funnier, basically like the "SpongeBob SquarePants Lost Episode?!" It wasn't.... It featured swear words, left to right, and vile stuff. He told me never to watch ANY OF IT!!!! Or something similar to that, and luckily, I didn't.... But it's sad to see these allegiances, or rumors, or when the allegations are for real!!! So I feel bad for the people harmed in this video, and hope they get justice, they probably did.... But me and my dad are rewatching the 90's series of "The Ren and Stimpy show."
