Lara Abdallah my favorite is what the hell are you doing.

Carter is like a little brother to Peter and they have such an amazing relationship

But I love these guys and I love how uncomfortable this is, and I love that they're both clearly happy to see each other again, but neither of them really knows WHAT to say after all that time, and I love the little moment of silence right before Benton leaves, when you can see Carter in happy disbelief, and I LOVE how much is unsaid but instead communicated in their looks.

I love how Benton is wearing the L token Carter gave to him around his neck when he was gifted it all leaving all those years ago...shows you how much Benton actually cared for Carter

As already commented here, it is not an L token… it’s indeed a cross that Eriq La Salle can still be seen wearing at events recently.

I absolutely love the way, Carter spits out the ice because it brings it all the way back to him being Benton's student. Like it was just yesterday. The best cameo scene on the season.

This was amazing. Student and mentor reunited. I’ll never forget how hard Benton used to be on Carter back in seasons 1-2

We saw the real depth of Benton’s love for John when he showed support for him in the “lounge drug intervention”, and outside the hospital when John fell apart. And who DIDN’T know Peter was going to be sitting beside John on the plane to Atlanta? Show of hands? That’s what I thought.

@@sarakennedy2633-The actors- Eric LaSalle and Noah Wyle were actually good friends in real life? Is that what - IRL stands for- In Real LIfe. If that is true, I wish even more that Eric LaSalle would have guess starred on the Sci-Fi Show NOah did after ER- Faling Skies. It would have been really good to see those two acting together again.

I love them together. I still see John’s first day as Peter’s medical student. Peter was so hard on him. But Carter knows he pushed him because Peter knew he had it. He flew to Atlanta when Carter went into drug rehab. Peter held him when he cried. They’re strong bond will always be there.

Even on his way out Benton still pushed Carter to be the best doctor he possibly could. Carter: Hey Peter, I’m a good doctor and it’s because of you. Benton: No you’re not but keep trying. (he says with a smile.)

Awwww, this is so sweet!! Men who don't want to show their deep feelings but you can tell the feelings are definitely there. :)

Can just imagine that amongst the many emotions Carter is feeling right then, relief is a big part of it. Sometimes, in a rough situation, an unexpected visit from your toughest, best teacher can help take the pressure off, can push away the uncertainty and doubt. Carter knows Benton is there and can trust in that, and also if Benton says he's in good hands with another surgeon, Carter knows it's no b.s.

what a reunion for both of them !!!! was so difficult for Benton to admitt his feelings for him after all those years . Carter instead appears very happy to see him in good condition

I love that all the original staff came back for the last couple episodes.

The chemistry in this professional and personal relationship was so polar that it worked beautifully! Kudos to the story writers for building these character arcs around that anti-magnetism

This time, it *was* a spot on description- I think all of us - including Carter picked up on that 🥺 I hate it when doctors have terrible bedside manner - being all business is one thing….we all know Carter himself had much better passion for his patients than the average doctor does ❤️

The last time Carter saw Benton was at Mark Greene’s funeral. It was sweet to see them reunite again and the happy look in Carter’s eyes and Benton is like well well look what the cat dragged in, my old med student haha 😂

Eric has such a beautiful smile I missed seeing him in the later episodes

Spitting the ice out like it was back to Season 1 and Carter was a 3rd year MADE this for me.

Wow I had forgotten about the tokens for the el and subway trains here. I used to always have rolls of those before they got rid them.

This was a really good show and this amplified that

And who was there when Carter was getting his new kidney Benton and who made sure the fluid for the new kidney when there was a problem during the operation Benton, the love between these two makes me cry with pleasure 😢😊❤️

In this scene, Carter asked the questions that we (the audience) wanted to ask Benton since we saw him leaving County for the last time: His son Reese is entering his teenage years. Benton returned to working at another Chicago hospital after a few years doing private practice. We can see Benton is doing fine for himself and living a stable life. It was clear both men lost touch with each other for a long time - which is a reminder that despite the medical fraternity it is no different than a paying job anywhere... you can befriend colleagues, but once you leave the hospital for other places or they do, chances are you will never see each other again even if you live in the same city. Carter was lucky he was in the hospital Benton was employed at.

He went to work at the Schaumburg Surgi-Centre actually. He worked out a completely new job in less than one day after Romano wouldn't budge on his schedule at County.

Why is Benton confused about Carter being in renal failure? He's the one who operated on him when he was stabbed and they almost couldn't save the kidney...anyway love the bromance they have lol although Benton's more of a mentor :)

Benton was able to save the kidney. What Benton doesn't know is that a few years later the kidney failed, and shortly after that, Carter caught some disease in Africa that basically took care of the other kidney.

@@graciegravitt6227 During kidney transplants, the old kidney does not come out. It’s position in the abdominal cavity as it were is termed “retroperitoneal”. Thus means that they lie behind “retro” the peritoneum which is a membrane that covers and is the lining of the major abdominal organs (it is obviously difficult to appreciate the anatomy without the use of pictures). In order to get to the kidneys, the peritoneum would need to be unnecessarily disturbed and leading to a high probability of infection by “gram negative enteric flora”(shit). They just put the new one in the front rather the back and say a quick prayer and close the FUCKER up

Logical explanation: Benton likely bumped into other County staff by chance after he left there, and one of them told Benton of what Carter was last doing after asking about him. That is how he knew about the Africa story and the marriage but nothing further.

How is that possible cater is watching the ellen degeneres show. Now er was filmed on the same lot building before the ellen show aired..

There is an unsubstantiated rumor that the show will be re-booted. Several scripts have been gathering dust for quite some time but in the past year, some have gathered interest. Apparently, two scripts, in particular, may involve a cross-over episode(s) with other canceled NBC shows. Some recently canceled shows like "Third Watch" and others 'not so recent'. One of the "crossover" pilots will involve the two stars of the 1970s TV show "Emergency!". Interestingly both stars from that show Randolph Mantooth and Kevin Tighe appeared [separately] in the original run of "ER", but not in their "Emergency!" roles. The other script will reintroduce some characters from the ER cast and a few memorable patients as well as close some open storylines. This later script is written as a movie and may be presented as a two or three-parter. Curiously it would not be presented in the usual pilot series or "TV Movie" format for back-to-back viewing, within a week. Instead, the episodes would be broadcasted one day out of the week, over a two or three-week span. If it does get 'greenlit' look to see Anthony Edwards, Eric La Salle, and Noah Wyle producing, acting and or directing. Mr. La Salle was the closest to the late Mr. Crichton, and I would not be surprised if he and or Mr. Edwards directed this new chapter in the lives of "Those folks from County...".
