This is the story of DJ Carl Cox’s unique BMW E30 Alpina B6 3.5, one of the most exclusive and best handling sports cars of the 80s. This E30 was originally ordered with a 2.8 litre engine but was later converted into a 3.5 by Alpina at the request of its first owner, who wanted the ultimate expression of Alpina’s B6.
The BMW E30 was hard to top, with the original M3 widely considered one of the best cars BMW ever made. Alpina’s recipe for the E30 was a 3.5 litre straight six engine, a new differential, exhaust and induction system as well as revised suspension. The Alpina B6 makes more power and torque than the E30 M3 but remains utterly composed and refined on the road.

I could be happy with any car from this man collection from it's garage, each one was looking somehow in really good shape, but after hearing the full story this definitely goes in soul of the ownerbecause is a special BMW, a keeper for life !

2 Legends. Collector & Car. Both were like my Heroes to look up at, when i was young back in the mid-90´s.
I first saw Carl Cox at a rave in Sydney in 94. This dude has travelled everywhere and worked his ass off to get where he is. Props to you Carl. PLUR.

Saw this motor at Classic Heroes and trust me, as good as this review is, even then it doesn't do it justice. Beautiful car indeed and the engine is as strong as an ox! Well done to Carl and to Classic Heroes!

What a lovely car. In my 40s and these were the cars i grew up wishing my dad had bought. That intro shot over all the cars included about 70% of those I'd have in my lottery win garage.
I drunkenly shook Carl's hand in Swansea over 20 years ago. A top lad and I had no idea he was a car guy!

Had no idea Carl was a petrolhead and a fine connoisseur of automotive loveliness. Listening to tunes turned out by the legend growing up makes this all a little bit more cool.

One of my all time Favourite cars 3.25 I pal of mine had a G plate convertible in black the sound of the engine just beautiful watched Carl at Shelley’s doing his 3 turn table thing his alpina is stunning tho never seen inside one before, amazing rare car this

What a story, exceptional car for one of (if not) the best DJ's of all time After seeing his collection and his other passion, I'm not sure if it's possible, I worship him even more
Tom Walkinshaw Racing built 3 of these cars in RHD. Tom used car 1 as his own, it was silver KHR 792X. Tiff Needell road tested it at the time, it can be found online. I owned it in 1988 and advertised it in Autosport the week after Le Mans in the hope the TWR Jaguar would win the race. They did & I successfully sold the ar [at 300% profit] Car 2 was red and suffered a crash and was burnt out. Car 3 was also sliver. Both silver cars are undergoing resto when I last heard. Your car is stunning, congrats.
The Alpina is nice but theres a bunch of other nice modern classics in that garage. Would love to see the M1, the Golf and the 205 covered in videos as well. Please make it happen! Thanks!
