M20s are the best sounding engine ever made. We need a POV drive with exhaust/engine bay mic when you're ready to drive it again.

Absolutely (except for the valvetrain tick lol), my 525i had a standard exhaust except for a supersport muffler and driving it was like playing an instrument…such a deep and soothing noise. Like an old lion announcing its presence. Really miss that car

I have a 2011 alpina d3 biturbo, the handling and brakes are soso good, the midrange grunt makes overtaking so safe and easy, you will have to try one,,

factory hot rod right there..i had the honor of restoring a B6 couple years back..parts are super expensive..the cars too..but what a fantastic breed they are..will go up in value for sure

Amazing car. Love the stock engine/exhaust note. S.Africa also got a couple of E30s blessed by Alpina.Both homologation specials for group N racing.The M30 333i with mtech 1kit and the two mtech2 m20 2.7s(evo1 & 2 145kw and 155kw). Both quite rare even here in S.A and fetch crazy money.

I have a 1985 eta with a shorter-than-factory LSD and this video just makes me want to head swap it and daily the thing forever. An E30 coupe set up to proper OEM+ spec is really the one car solution.

As always less is more in an e30. I raced spec e30 for years and I feel like this alpina is alot like a street version of a se30 before they went to ground control. 160whp, 3.7sd, big adj swaybars, bilstein/hr 2700lbs. It’s really the swaybars that’s the biggest b4b in this chassis. I’m building an original se30 tribute street car 325i and the timing of this video is perfect. 🎉

i would love to drive an E30 and the M3 in particular. Shame no right hand drive versions were made. my elder brother had a large poster of a black E30 M3 in his room that i grew up lusting after as a kid back in the 80's. Chuffed for you man, enjoy it.

i just remembered after reading your comment that infact i have driven an E30 BMW. it was my dad's 318i in 1994. good old days. i need to drive one now though and an M3. hopefully i will with your blessing. I remember the roads being flooded with E36s and lots of E30s shame most got trashed and scrapped. it's great to know people like you and many others are saving old analog real BMW's. The ultimate driving machine ended with the corporate take over of BMW. my 2 cents. loving your vids man. all the best to you. hope you're enjoying all your cars and many more to come for you, keep it real Josh when you make it big.

Pre -merge Alpina cars like this one will only go up in value. BMW will dilute the name in the future by affixing Alpina badges all over the place like they do with M badges. Same thing happened with MB and AMG...But look at pre merge AMG prices ! Yes, what a car!!

The 3 Series has a fanbase, a community of enthusiasts to find brotherhood, and every engine and variation and Frankenstein-build thereof has its own community and fanbase. The X5, the Z1, the E34 with V8s, the 7 Series with V12s - at the moment of purchase, there is a fellowship to be found of drivers who adore that variant, in a way almost unique among all other brands.
