@@mayson696 i heard that in world war one he was a infentry and had to use a gas mask but had a normal mustash and had to cut the sides due to the mask attaching to the area to close.

In the 90s Spider-Man cartoon, JJJ reveals he doesn't hate super heroes, he hates people who hide behind masks. He thinks that super heroes should never hide their identities because then they can't be held accountable. In the show, Jameson was doing a story and a mob boss threatened Jameson if he didn't drop his story. When Jameson refused, a hitman killed his wife. He was wearing a mask so they couldn't identify him. So yeah, make no mistake, Jameson rails Spider-Man way too hard, but it's not because he hates heroes, he hates masked people.

Fun fact: Hitler used to have a full moustache but during a gas attack in WW1 he couldn't get his mask to seal properly because of it. Once he recovered he shaved it down to the bare minimum so that would never happen again

Incorrect, Hitler didn't adopt that Mustache until after the war. He still wore the same stash even when he was with the Bavarian Communist in early 1919. Fun picture and film of him in the procession for Kurt Eisner's funderal for example wearing the black/red mounring armband of the Communist. He still has a full mustache.

@@firestorm165 it's debatable that he was a Communist but he definitely was a member at the time. We do not know what his personal beliefs were in early 1919. People claimed he was a spy but he was a spy for the Army against the German Worker's Party DAP which after joining the DAP is when I think his views changed. I do know he was a common patron if Cafe Central in Vienna when he lived there, which was a Socialist hot spot. So I personally believe his Communist sympathies in early 1919 were likely genuine. But sadly he did a very good job white washing his past going so far to even destroying the village he grew up in. So you can only imagine how much documentation from Bohemia, Austria and Germany of his past he had destroyed. Btw the DAP were anti Communist and most views of the NSDAP were already established before he joined them as a Spy for the Army. So rather than Hitler changing the DAP. The DAP changed him. Which is why I think he became an anti Communist after joining the DAP.

I like that for all of Cap's qualties Peter just wants to know why people like him. Honestly I dont mind Spidey being mostly hated by the populace, it makes him look more heroic saving the people who don't appreciate him. He does it because he's a decent person.

Iron Man feels pretty much the same way as Cap about Jameson's constant bad-mouthing of Spidey. Cap & Iron Man both think the world of Spidey and hate seeing all of Jameson's anti-Spidey BS despite all of the things Spidey has done to save and protect people all while risking his own life to do so. Plus, both Cap and Iron Man act as Spidey's mentors in most instances, so they're essentially watching out for their "protege" as well. The Fantastic four are also firm supporters of Spidey as well. Hell, even Wolverine is in Spidey's corner, and we all know how taciturn and standoffish Logan usually is.

Other heroes have tried to get JJ to knock it off with the SpiderSlander, but he calls them out on it in his newspaper as them trying to silence him and infringing on his first amendment rights. Not to mention, due to how often Marvel heroes get involved with bad stuff from time to time, it's hard for any of them to have credibility when it comes to speaking up for Spider-Man. Captain America's pretty much the only one who can.

Not only did he mess up with that headline but he also practically said that the most beloved super hero was also an agent of AIM indirectly.

“With a hyphen” is such a weird detail to remember

@@phoandori Not just characters, also most actual people in real life get it wrong. Even a lot of the fans.

I find it so awesome that one of the few things that has always remained consistent throughout the years in Marvel comics is practically every hero who's met Spidey universally and silently agrees he is the best amongst them

As a german, that zoom in on Jamesons mustach, when Cap tells him that he knows what a menace looks like, was hilarious.

"Reputations come and go. All that matters is what you do next." This is a line i needed to hear.

I never realized Jameson was rocking the Hitler ‘stache. 💀

The MCU version of Spider-Man is probably a Iron Man Fanboy because of the fact that Iron Man saved his life during this Stark Expo which is also probably what inspired him to become a hero when he got his powers

@@sokagofferenginar8669 Kevin Feige did confirm that the kid wearing an Iron man mask back in 2010 is in fact Peter Parker so make sense and plus Ultimate Spider-Man is kinda a Iron man fanboy since Ultimate Captain America dislikes Spider-Man.

That he was. Its worth mentioning that the types of articles Jameson writes are common practice in fascist dictatorships. Calling someone a communist in that day was no different than Jameson's paper saying Spiderman was part of A.I.M.

Rare Spider-man W. Dude can rarely catch a break, so it's nice to see him at least get something.

Comics like this make me wish that Steve and Peter had the same kind of mentor/student relationship that Peter had with Tony in the MCU.

We need a compilation of all the times people/other hero’s and think there was a few villains who ripped Jameson’s a new one for his treatment for our favourite web head
