I want to say Birdie and Bad might be a coincidence - His theme (including the bassline) originated in Street Fighter, which was released one day before the album "Bad."

The single "Bad" was actually released over a month before the first Street Fighter.

It only makes sense that Vega's theme would be a reference to a Spanish dance song, since Vega is actually from Spain in the game.

You're missing Elec Man's theme with "Faithfully" by Journey and "The Winner Takes It All" by Abba, as well as Guile's SFII theme with Cheap Trick's "Mighty Wings". Also, Fei Long's SFII/SFIV theme sounds a bit like Sarah's theme from the first Virtua Fighter game. Then there's Mega Man ending and Mega Man II opening themes sounding like Ness' house theme from Earthbound.

Great Ep! Loved this ep! #4 made me lol. Kahn's theme always made me lol, cause even as a kid I recognized the tune it was parodying.

Fei longs theme has been around since sf2 the new challengers and hasn’t changed since so it’s inaccurate that his theme comes from ssf4

Came here to say exactly this. SSF2 was the first appearance of the New Challengers, which included Fei and his stage + theme.

That Mega Man mash up is something I didn’t know I wanted. Freestyle music and Capcom.

Reminds me of all those cheap "Brick Games 9999 In One etc" they all start up with weird and strangely familiar tunes like "La Cucaracha", White Christmas, The Nutcracker and "Happy Birthday" "Lambada" and even Soviet Russia's National Anthem. (Not the Tetris Theme, ironically) Extremely unfitting (and kind of fun) considering there are many action games like racing, war with tanks and planes,and of course deadly ninjas fighting in synch with "The Nutcracker" (Innuendo maybe? Lol Nah.)... Note: Yes THE happy birthday theme, copyrighted or not, they don't care :p

It's funny, just the other day I heard The Final Countdown on the radio, and thought how it's similar to that Megaman X6 track and that I should submit it to this channel.

while listening to the fei long theme and the fist full of dollars theme I realized lol that bury my shell at wounded knee from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in time has a similar tune at the opening of the song.

Just FYI Birdie's Alpha theme is remake of his original SF1 theme, though it may have had influences.

Mega Man X2 Flame Stag theme and Deep Purple's Burn start very similarly. Great video!

In Super Street Fighter II, the beginning of the end credits start out the same as Journey's intro to "Be Good To Yourself".

Hey! I only discovered your channel very recently, but I love it! Keep up the good work! I have a sample that you may or may not about already, and it's been in multiple sources. Gaming wise, it's been in Half Life, with the track Jungle Drums, as well as Crash Bandicoot 2, on the Road to Ruin track. Neither of which are from where I first heard the sample tho. No, the first time I heard this sample was in an episode of the cartoon "Courage the Cowardly Dog" called "King Ramses Curse", where it was used as the title theme for the episode, and all throughout the episode as well. It is a sound of a strange sounding instrument, and it's sound is very haunting! It was also used in the end credits for the Jumanji animated series. I've been dying to know where it originally came from. One thing to note is that the N. Sane trilogy version of the Crash Bandicoot track removed the sound, so you should listen to the original if you look into this sound. ( I posted this comment already on one of your sampling related videos, but I thought you may not see it there)

Great list. One Capcom song similarity I noticed recently was Project Justice's Taiyo School Rooftop theme and Gin Blossoms "Follow You Down". Both songs have a very similar sounding harmonica riff in them during the first 30 seconds of the song.

Love these kinds of videos, and there have been many I've caught over the years, although many more obscure. Wonder if anybody else has caught Depeche Mode in FFVIII, or Giorgio Moroder in Legend of Mana.

There's a slight connection between the melody from FeiLong's theme and the theme from Enter The Dragon, starring Bruce Lee, specifically those six notes heard roughly 10 seconds into the Enter The Dragon theme. Of course this makes sense since FeiLong was partially inspired by Bruce Lee. As a side note, those six notes from Enter The Dragon also can be heard in the NES game "Kung-Fu Heroes" as soon as you press start at the title screen.

The subway theme fits so well! :D

I want to say that the song Safaris - wipe out can be heard in Earthworm Jim, in a bonus stage

I mentioned this in a previous video's comments, but Flashman's stage theme from Megaman 2 sounds exactly like the chorus from "I'm A Man" by Chicago

I don't remember if I ever saw this on one of your lists, and it very well could have been, but I was just watching the console Wars Episode 4 Justice League task force oh, and I noticed that Superman's theme in the Super Nintendo version sounds quite similar to the theme to Star Trek the Next Generation. Again, I might have seen this one in another one of your videos, but I don't remember.

First time watching a vid from you. Your voice reminds me of Dan Aykroyd :p. Good vid tho

I kind of thought that Vega's theme originated from a traditional bullfighting or sombrero music.

hahaha, Will arnett from Arrested Development! Never made the connection with Europe Final Countdown. But I hear it now! I was waiting for that Final Fight CD version, that rocks!

Loved the Nesshou!! Version of (Claw Vega-Balrog's) theme. Also love the Nesshou!! versions of Chun-Li, Ryu, and Dictator M. Bison/Vega themes too.

I don't know if anyone plays the monster hunter series but the original superman theme and the monster hunter theme sound very familiar especially in the beginning.

Vega's theme also sounds like the original Star Trek theme. The melody is basically the same almost.

The song that sound similar to the megaman one it’s called “Juguito de Piña” by the band you already mention.

Fei-long's theme in SFIV is a remake of his original theme which still takes inspiration from what you suggested.

Hi there. Tubular Bells was composed by Mike Oldfield. Not The Exorcist. It is the movie's theme thouhg, however, there's a huge legal battle history between Virgin Records and the folks who used the song as the movie's main theme :D

I don't know if this has been mentioned in any of the many videos you've done, but if you want another song with a big Exorcist "Tubular Bells" vibe (with a nice groove to it), listen to "Prairie" from the game Devilish (Bad Omen in Japan). Also, I can't be the only one who thinks "A Man (Theme of Khan)" from Breath of Fire IV feels like a combination of "The Imp's Song" and "Sign of Evil" from Ultimate Doom.

A weird one from Capcom...actually two and from a newer game: Mega Man 11. Both on Tundra Man’s stage; the opening melody sounds like the chorus of Ariana Grande’s “Let Me Love You” and the chime hook sounds like the chime hook on The Police’s “Wrapped Around Your Finger.” Weird, but I recently played both songs...and heard something. Maybe it’s my imagination. If you find the connection, you are more than welcome use my footage of Tundra Man’s stage because I let’s played the game on my channel.

I don't know if you heard this one before but Metal Gear Solids Alert theme sounds a lot like the movie Speed theme in the intro

Showed half the stages of Megaman X6 and none of them were the weapon center lol

Urien’s theme from 2nd Impact has a similar opening to Rock With You by Michael Jackson

The one that Vega theme is based off of is hard to hear because its like a slower version

Are you guys certain about the very first entry? My version plays that theme at Infinity Mijinion's stage (the one with the giant robot at the background, not the level with the rising and lowering platforms (Metal Shark Players stage), please help me clarify this strange incident someone. :3

The Metal Shark Player stage is the Terminator theme though...

No Neon Tiger theme from Megaman X3? Its clearly My Michelle from Guns n Roses

Also Neon Tiger stage from MegaMan X3 and My Michelle from guns and roses have some similarities.

I would like to mention that Shade Man's theme from Mega Man 7 sounds oddly like Bubble Bubble Crab's from Megaman X2. And Duff McWhalen's theme from Megaman X5 is a rehash of Bubble Crab's.

Shademans song sound different,its a spooky castle kinda theme while bubble crab is a like a tropical sea song, mmx5 is a remake song of bubble crab but in the prototype version of the game duff has an original theme.

9:48 It was pretty common in the 70s that Eastern would rip off some Western music for their own. As could be seen for example in the movie "Invincible Armor" (Ying zhao tie bu shan), which used music from "Day of Anger" (I giorni dell'ira). So, I think, this is a reference to that time @Uncanny X .

The SPD I’d such a good move. during Vega’s theme I’m bracing for the impact.

I've always felt like the Snatcher "One Night in Neo Kobe City" had the same feel of Billy Idol's "Wasteland" from the Cyberpunk album. The baseline is soooo similar... and knowing Hideo Kojima, that might actually have been an inspiration.

May I suggest looking into Playstation Runabout aka Felony 11-79. The sountrack is composed by an actual Surf Rock band, and I find that the track used for the race/training track sounds similar to Nirvana's Breed. Other tracks probably have some inspiration, but I'm not a Surf Rock expert :)

Surely there has to be some oddly familiar SNK themes.

Krausers is literally the same theme as the original symphony, royalty free because of the original rights expiring years ago, so not a rip-off or "just very simular" rather a rendition of the exact same.

The Spanish theme is used so often in Spanish style music it's basically public domain standard

What's the theme in the very start with the intro? It only lasted the first 4 seconds, but it sounds like something from Tekken. I just can't place my finger on it.

The bass riff in Birdie's theme sounds more like Black Betty to me honestly

An obscure one for you! The track used for the city tracks in the SNES racer Biker Mice From Mars is so heavily inspired by Ridin' on the Wind by Judas Priest that I'm shocked Konami's legal team didn't say anything lol.

I found another one! Agumons stage on Digimon Battle Spirit for the GBA sounds alot like Rasputin by Boney M.! great vid by the way...

Of course "Wipeout" is also the song used in the title screen for the game "Cool Spot".

I KNOW Cutman theme from MegaMan 1 was stolen or heavily inspired by some other song but I can't put my finger on it! It's killing me!

On 7:18 the first thing in my mind was Black Night by Deep Purple. But DP is also notable for nicking themes.

I think I mentioned this on a previous episode, but Route 209 from _Pokémon: Diamond_ sounds a lot like 21 Guns by Green Day (which incidentally also sounds like Telephone Line by ELO), also for the Boss Battle theme from _Mega Man_ I kinda heard Flight of the Bumblebee

Instead of trying a part where Deis' theme of Breath of Fire III sounds similar to the "Eye of the Tiger" song by Survivor, maybe you try a part where Deis' theme of Breath of Fire III sounds similar to the theme of Hill Top Zone of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and use it in your next video instead, okay?

Odd that you chose specifically Street Fighter 4 for Fei Long's theme as he originates in Street Fighter 2 (well eventually). His SF4 theme is just a re-arrangement of his original theme from SF2, as they did with all the other SF2 characters in that game.

we went with SFIV because of the quality. we probably should have treated it like the Vega theme, and played the original, then played our favorite afterwards... and we did the same with Birdie, we just played the better one, we should have showcased his original theme from SF1

The Resident Evil Gaiden theme reminded me a little more of the theme from Phantasm, although that is also very similar to Tubular Bells.

You know, I'm kind of surprised that Proof of a Hero from Monster Hunter hasn't been compared to the Superman theme on this list. The buildup at the beginning, of course. I suppose Monster Hunter is still kind of a niche Capcom series.

If not already noticed, there is the sigma virus fight in megaman x2 and "Shadows of Yesterday" from Vinnie Moore (Mind's Eye album)

Ah that excellent idea music feels K-Klass let's show you love 1993 and Karin Kanzuki form Street Fighter Alpha 3 1998!

Yasha's themes(Wind Fang or Wind and Fang, Orphan Wolf Legend Bonds respectively)from Asura's Wrath also have strong Ennio Morricone influences.

The first one its called jugo de piña( pineapple juice) from mexican ochestra: "el súper show de los Vasquez" , its a classical party cumbia in all latinamerica, hello from El Salvador!

Birdie's SFA stage theme is just a remix of his stage music from the original Street Fighter in 1987. And that came out at least one month before the whole Bad album by MJ did.

It’s a bit of a stretch, but when I heard Breath of Fire IV’s comparison I instantly thought of the Chocobo Themes from the Final Fantasy series. Sounds like they were inspired from Safari’s Wipeout too.
