Canon 10-18mm Lens Review - Best Budget Lens for Vlogging!

#canon1018 #vlogginglens
In today's video, we review a lens that has helped us kickstart our KZread channel as well as our photography/videography company - the Canon EF-S 10-18 mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens. With it's ultra-wide focal length, fantastic optical performance and image stabilization, we recommend it as being one of the best, if not the very best vlogging lens for APS-C Canon cameras. And the best thing of all...it's super cheap, making it one of, if not, the best budget lens for vlogging!

    Great review guys, this was the first lens we used too and were super happy with it for many years. Great all round specs for people who are starting out. After a while though since we wanted to take sharper clearer shots we moved to the 16-55 f2.8 and found that was a huge leap in quality. Much better low light performance too.

    Great Review my brotha, goes to show again that it's not what you've got but how you use it! I started off with a Sigma 10-20mm on a 550D. I think I personally need to do more vlogging to make things more interesting (currently using the EOS-R / 16-35 2.8 ef) loved watching your adventures in this one, particularly good to see Malaysia make a feature too (: Keep it up 👏👏🔥

    Hi, Cool video! I have the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens, that came with Canon 90D, would this lens be better to get for portraits, closeups/macros, & video?

  • @RudyVisuals

    @RudyVisuals

    That zoom lens is pretty decent, we had it with our 80D. I'd say that's a better jack of all trades lens compared to this 10-18 which is better for wide angle stuff and not all that great for portraits and close up stuff.

    I don't really like to shoot wide but this is definitely very tempting for the price. Do you think it would be good for street photography? Maybe it's too wide for that but I could see an ultra wide being useful in certain situations.

  • @RudyVisuals

    @RudyVisuals

    I have heard lots of good things about this lens. But with the move to mirrorless cameras now is this still relevant in 2020? Do you recommend people still to buy aps-c canon dslrs?

  • @RudyVisuals

    @RudyVisuals

    3 жыл бұрын

    You're somewhat right, but not everyone has the cash to spend, even the budget options are still gonna set you back like 500$ minimum. A used cheap Canon DSLR and this lens can be bought for like a total of 300-350 and lenses don't really lose value or usefulness as they can be adapted to new systems, so they're never a bad investment if that makes sense.
